Just caught up on the manga and the kiss. So what did anons think? Feels like to me that the early chapters didn't build up to it enough. Ya there were kinda close but it never really seemed like all that serious until that chapter with the dragonfly heart in the manga. Should have had a line like "she would be the most important to me" or somethingAkebi thread too, I guess.
>>288907252When I first read it, it felt to me like the shift to serious romance was sudden because it was brought on by Chiarashi forcing Erika into the school play and Kojo being horny and writing a kiss between Erika's and Komichi's characters. Looking back it really just builds upon elements that were already present to a lesser degree and the shift from pure iyashikei to a slightly more nuanced atmosphere was deliberate and affected the whole manga rather than just their relationship. One moment that exemplifies it is when they're in Tokyo and Komichi jumps off the bridge into the river to recover Erika's ribbon, earlier on in the series it would've just been treated as one of her crazy lovable stunts but Erika reacts realistically and slaps the shit out of her for being reckless. Then there's the reveal of Mai's backstory which causes Komichi to heavily struggle grasping the concept of her parents being dead. Overall she's been maturing, with several characters also noting she looks more mature in her black uniform, and falling in love fits nicely with that although maybe her falling in love with Erika partly because she was tasked to understanding her character for the play is a bit clunky.
>>288907252Hindsight 20/20. The manga very clearly wasn't aiming for lesbian romance freak audience when it started. Only yuritroon tourists that were ignoring it until the chapter you mentioned deny that the manga genre switched.
>>288908061>>288908183Oh no you don't.
>>288908042Literally>oh shit i have a yuritard audience>may as well pander
>>288908042Kill yourself, history revisionist nigger. Those are all lies.
>he didn't figure the endgame out from Erika being introduced to Komichi while clipping her nails in chapter 2
>>288908265Nah. It was more the combination of the zeitgeist changing in favor of yuri and the author always seemingly wanting to do yuri but not having the guts to commit a full blown yuri from the start (until his latest manga I guess). If you're not a mentally ill historical revisionist it's blatantly clear, even if you weren't following it from the early days, that the manga changed first and yuritroons followed.
>yurifags end up being 100% completely correct>people still complain about usThe series was always going to have Erika & Akebi be the closet emotionally to each other. Whether they would show us the extent of their physical closeness might have changed with the winds of the genre, but it’s not a contradiction of their earlier characterizations.
>>288910186It's just the usual election tourists that the mods and janitors have allowed to infest all of 4chan.
>>288908042>>288908265Poor delusional anons

>>288910820What is this supposed to prove? Even from your examples, there are some yurifags who are interested in the series and others who are more skeptical it won't be the kind of yuri that they they like. Obviously though, the yurifags who said that the series would be yuri were correct, so again, why are you complaining about them in this thread when they were objectively correct?
>>288907252It felt natural to me. There is just a gradually closer friendship until a catalyst suddenly switches up how they see eachother. Thats how it goes, its not always (or even commonly) a gradual build up with teenagers. The whole manga is about 'adolescence' in Akebi's energy, focus on her body and her on their passion running away with them.It fits the manga all about the beauty of girls.
The yuri in this series is literally just a phase. Akebi will follow the same fate as her mom
>>288907252At this point its been building up for years and the date build-up alone made that scene pleasently cathartic. Its not a romance manga, so I don't think it should have spend time making it "obvious" early on. Akebi expresses how serious she is about it much more directly, which fits the manga and her better than tired romance lines.
So far, Akebi has been very cute.
Why are these retarded tourists shitting up Akebi threads? Come on, let's do some cleaning.Bump.
>>288908042>The manga very clearly wasn't aiming for lesbian romanceBut even the author's old harem shit manga had a yuri couple in it.He's clearly always liked yuri.
>>288910186Because it's not about yuritards, these retarded poser moralfags want yuri gone completely, porn included, and lie endlessly about site or anime history in order to create a false narrative more retards willfully regurgitate.
The most genetically perfect couple in existence.
>>288914531It clearly proves that anyone pretending that akebi was super obviously real yuri (lesbian romance) from the very start is full of shit. And yes that is exactly what you fags have been doing ever since that chapter.
>>288919459>it clearly proves that anyone pretending that akebi was super obviously real yuri (lesbian romance) from the very start is full of shitOther than a joke post in this thread, who has been saying that? The arguments have been about whether the development was well done or had some amount of foreshadowing, which is different that believing that they will kiss after that one chapter. What I will point out is that there was a post from the publisher calling it yuri early on as well.
>>288919575A mentally ill anon, the one that's telling people to kill themselves itt for pointing out the fact that the manga genre switched. Feel free to go through the archive if this is your first akebi thread.
>>288911783am madam ESLnot bitcham whitethe only thing bothering me is you trying to gaslight the board
>>288919753>Only yuritroon tourists that were ignoring it until the chapter you mentionedTo claim that no yurifags were interested in the series beforehand is revisionist history. There were several (like myself) who thought that there were some suspicious interactions in the series, but it wasn't until the aforementioned chapter that people began seriously considering if it would become full yuri. A series can have some yuri fanservice without becoming more serious about it.
>>288919459It was yuri (undertones/platonic) since chapter 1It was lesbian since the "what is love (baby don't hurt me)" arc with Nawashiro focus
So is Hiro going to spend the next 16 chapters showing what happened in the aftermath of their date in bits and pieces through flashbacks? We jumped almost three months in between the last two chapters. Did they get in trouble for ditching? What do their parents think? We know what the majority of the student body thinks of this last episode since girls are treating Akebi like a hero. But where is the rest of the fallout?
>>288920007Probably at least two volumes of flashbacks. I'd expect the play to take one by itself if not more.
>>288907252
those damned yuritards, if it weren't for them akebi would have been fucking her dad by now
>>288920342
>>288920342I only get dozens of generic harem trash shows every season! if it wasn't for you cursed yuriTRANNIES then ALL anime would pander to my sexual fetsihes!!! Ahhhhh!!!!
>>288919877Nobody is retarded enough to think there is no overlap between yurifags and cute girl sol fags. Pretending that most yurifags didn't rush over after it was a done deal and have been reading akebi undercover all along is disingenuous as fuck.
Just so you know, the publisher literally called it yuri when it started serializing, it's very obvious the original short script was already gay enough for the publisher itself to point it out.Hiro was never that subtle with the imagery of the series, but midway into the series Akebi already crossed the line of CGDCT when they openly started talking about romantic feelings, straight or yuri, you can't go back once you opened this pandora box.
>>288920455you thought i was being ironic ?
>>288920342There is another...
>>288907252Find an imouto who looks at you like Kao looks at Kimichi. Only girl-girl relationship I care about in Akebi.
>>288918506>Generically perfect>Cant make babiesThey need a sperm donor, Akebi’s super model genes can’t end here.
>>288921525The bigger problem is Komichi wanting to become a aidoru. Once she does that her 'fans' won't allow her to become pregnant. They'll love it if she somehow 'marries' Erika but anything that implies a male will end her career.Admittedly I have never heard of a idol trying sperm donation so we have no real world analog for how that might go.
>>288921525Erika can get donates sperm from Sato. Komichi might be able to get donation from Erika's dad but in his case he is considerably older than Akebi's parents or his wife and not every 60+ guy is Mick Jagger.
>>288921525I'll put a baby in her.
>>288908042"Cope", as your kind would say. "Seethe".
>people actually think Akebi wasn't yurislop since the startIt just decided to go from yuribait to yuriromance
>>288909717akebi is a top now
>>288924761What made you think she would ever be a bottom once she had a partner? The only two girls in class that might have been a challenge for her are Hitomi and Riri, and they have girls of their own.
She knew what she was doing.
>>288927391>writes smut fic of her 12 year old classmates and has them act it out in front of the whole school and their own parentsIs she the most based character in fiction?
