Well it makes sense. Instead of looking at it like memory loss, think about it from Subaru's point if view: he was in the real world and suddenly he's isekaid.. but the characters already talk to him like they know him, hell they talk about him like he's someone else. From his perspective, there is no memory loss, he's not missing anything: the world is, and not just that but the world is telling you (You ) changed! Now you have no point of reference, so you stick with yours, even and especially while everyone else disagrees
