This is fucking retarded. How could they possibly not tell they're cutting down a young woman (one they know, at that) and not an old fart?
Also, did the manga skimp over as much stuff as this season finale? Taira's takeover could have easily been two or three episodes had it actually been shown.

Enjoy hating this show after the rest of us finished discussing it. It won't undo the fun we've had.

I still don't get the setting. Like what is their deal with radio/electricity at all?
Sure they might have lost industrial scale electric production, but point to point communications are trivial to diy.
It all looks like larp gone too far, or an unspoken taboo with omnipresent, omnipotent enforcers.
Other settings that explicitly condemn and prohibit electricity always have some resistance, underworld researchers etc.

>point to point communications are trivial to diy.
Unless radiation ruins the nation.
>an unspoken taboo with omnipresent, omnipotent enforcers.
Are you saying they live in a SOCIETY?
>settings that explicitly condemn and prohibit electricity
No one said electricity was prohibited. They just don't use it, which suggests it's not practical, because of radiation, SOCIETY or other factors.
>what other factors?
The inherent power asymmetry between HAM radio operators and armies.
>who don't the armies use radio?
Because the enemy is listening. When you have guns and they're mostly using swords, using a technology that levels the playing field is against your best interests.

What about wired comms? They were never directly involved in the nuclear war. If background radiation is safe enough for multiple generations to survive semi-sustainably it should be safe enough to use telegraph at least, if not WW2 tier spooled phones.

Also you are inventing questions I never asked.
>Because the enemy is listening.
Like half of their strategies were already based on the assumption that they konw that the enemy knows that they know.
And on the battlefield they scream their lungs out relaying orders.

This part where some random fag is talking about how surprised the Seii niggers were that they killed their own leader is not in the manga. It was probably added in the anime to make the episode a little longer.
>Also, did the manga skimp over as much stuff as this season finale? Taira's takeover could have easily been two or three episodes had it actually been shown.
Pretty much.

Yeah, it makes no sense. If Ryumon is so smart, why doesn't he just have someone cobble all that scrap into working vehicles? Tractors are not hard to make (so more agriculture). Trucks are not hard to make (so less horses to feed for supplies). Hell, he could just be using armored cars and Toyota trucks like they do in Africa, only they run off the same shitty wood gas engines Japan used IRL in the 1940s because no oil. Why does nobody have shit like machine guns or modern rifles and grenades even though the JSDF and US bases have tons of them? Why are there no aircraft even though planes can run on ethanol and balloons on literal hot air? Why are there no trains even though again, they can run on ethanol or even charcoal? Why is there no electricity when wood is everywhere, windmills and lead acid batteries a thing, and generators not hard to rig up? It's really hard to suspend disbelief for this setting, since it tries to take itself so seriously even though everything potentially interesting is reduced to a background aesthetic so the writer can do his Romance of the Three Kingdoms fanfic.

I also feel that gaps in that setting are weird as fuck in other places, no trains at all, guns that they are using are weird, like why would you use bolt action rifles that requires some skill to make and tools that are requires electricity but not use semi automatic weapons from army/police, no bullet vests and stuff like that. Author is definitely picking what fits to his own world

That's Matsumi's expertise, who researches old tech and customs. It's not Ryumon's.

I thought the whole point of the corrupt official was he could manipulate the emperor, like everyone was still loyal to the emperor but the problem was the emperor agreed with him on everything until the mc convinced the emperor. But then the corrupt guy basically just pushed the emperor aside and everybody still followed him. It's a little ridiculous. What's the point of all this political maneuvering when he doesn't even need the emperor's permission anyway? He gets away with too much, I was onboard with it until that point. It overplayed.

It's a setting that makes about as much sense as Hokuto no Ken but instead of just being a backdrop to martial artists making heads explode demands you pay attention to the details so unfortunately falls apart.
>>288922281
Come to think of it, why didn't Ryumon or Kaku think to propose the soldier-farmer/tuntian system before? They seem to all like Romance of the Three Kingdoms and that's discussed many times in that book (or a million other books about Asian history).

No hate, but the whole anime is mildly retarded. The worst part of it is that theres not a single good character though. None of them are likable or do anything cool. I can't help but feel like the writer is vibe-writing the whole thing to feel deep and mature (themes? Characters? Plot? No, we have... historical quotes) and didn't put effort into any other aspect.
>I will drink tea on a bridge and therefore BTFO 10000 enemy troops as of that's how the empty fort strategem worked in the actual three kingdoms, except that's not how it worked both in terms of how it was presented in the story or in "reality"

I get that you have a resident shitposter but that doesn't make the series impervious to criticism.
>>288915652
It's also strange and misguided to assume that the goal of criticizing something is purely to anger (you) (plural) and only (you)
In my case it's more of an indignant thing

Thanks, that's good to know.
