I haven't read CSM since early part two and am wondering why is the ending so hated? I just went through the rest of part 2 today and thought the ending saved the series. Part 2 was terrible and Fujimoto wrote himself into a corner with a nonsensical plot going nowhere. A complete universe reset gets the series out of that hole and allows Fujimoto to reset the tone and tell a new story with essentially the same cast. Everyone is presumably alive and can have different fates. All this is assuming Fujimoto comes back to CSM and doesn't fuck it up again.
