>>289036611It is fairly repetitive in its structure by design, so a lot of the enjoyment of each arc depends entirely on how likable the main girl is, which makes the quality of the show somewhat uneven. I liked Himekawa and I loved Arashiyama, but I didn't care at all about Ureshino (although that one had the most memorable antagonist). On the whole, it was decent. It didn't make me want to read the manga, but I will most likely watch the next season.

She got some nice moments at first with mock dates and whatnot but that quickly fell by the wayside - there could've been some fun development between them during the marriage episode but instead Gero leaves to fight some random midboss? In fact, the author keeps fucking doing that, he keeps seperating Gero from the girl in order for him to fight someone and it's just not interesting. He should be working together with the girl of the arc and developing as a couple. I cannot stress enough how much I do not care about random combat scenes and the last arc really was the worst of this, it was mind-numbingly dull.So anyways, each arc we get a brand new girl and villain and we're essentially working from scratch every time. Gero meets girl, they're awkward, grow a bit closer, he fights baddie, end arc. There's nothing really connecting it all together outside of Gero and Kinosaki who haven't really developed all that much, neither as individuals or a couple, so it just feels like you're treading water for 12 episodes. I'm already bored of this format so I hope the harem is complete and we can move onto something different in S2.

She's insanely likable, has a fun personality, is gorgeous, and is hot as fuck, plus she has a good backstory which makes her both sympathetic and gives her a reason to like the MC.

Authors love the ride, but can't do endings, and while I do love rides, it's not as exciting when I know the destination isn't gonna be good.

It occurs to me that the very happiest ending for the series would be to allow the modified bloodlines to die out without actually killing anybody. Thus, everyone should marry someone of the same sex, so as not to have any kids.Obviously Gero gets with Kinosaki, and his sister with her girlfriend, but for Water I say Himekawa works perfectly. Ushio has sharp teeth and lives in water—and she's even a shark in her approach to business! (Yes, it's true that their economic philosophies are irreconcilable, but perhaps Ushio could teach Himekawa that there's nothing wrong with receiving a good wage for a hard day's work, while Himekawa could teach Ushio that not everything in the world can be assigned a monetary value.)
