By main plot alone, Phone arc feels the most inconsequential although I'm pretty sure there's some huge stuff that Gosho is going to pick once again during the final stretch. Personally, I feel like the endgame was set during Vermouth and Phone: Kir and Bourbon arcs borrow from each other the same ideas and I wonder if Sera was created to be an Eisuke 2.0 because of editor's decisions. It feels like Sera was crammed in "like her! Like her you MUST like her!" style, I'm not sure Akai was created by Gosho having Sera in mind. It doesn't help Rei is popular as fuck, that stretched things more than expected, I believe.The last cases make me think GOsho is picking up the pace, fwiw. It all comes down whether these cops from the past can be solved as quickly as possible and how much are they related to the BO. Because if they are, they could be the intro of the final arc, especially given Gosho is sort of nudgning in some Karasuma suspects. If that's not the case, I don't think the series will manage to conclude some 300+ chapters more.All the pieces are there, I think: it just needs a catalyst. Either Conan solves these cops from the past and links them to Rum and then straight to Karasuma, or I'll just enjoy the ride without expecting any sort of ending like I do for HxH.
