Water boils, pressure piles up, imp gets bigger in response to that, then explodes (you can probably assume it waits for more pressure to pile up at a consistent volume and then explodes for maximum impact)I think it's fine. Gaara did a thing, the Imp can't move fast. I get it, and it works with the internal logic of the powers of the characters. Gaara's whole thing is if you can move faster than his sand like Lee did, he has a problem. So naturally, in his late-series fights where the opponents are immortal kages, and they're really fast, he has to come up with unique ways to slow them down or speed up his sand. I dig it! I give this fight a 6/10. It would have been the worst fight in the SRA, but here in part two it's a-okay with me.

I can see someone ranking Choji vs Jirobo higher than this fight because they really like Choji's character and seeing him break out of his shell, for instance, but from an actual "fight" standpoint this fights obviously shits all over Choji's 2 punches. Theme wise I don't think this fight is bad either, it doesn't have THAT much to it but the "golden child" delivery at the end with Gaara using his father's gold to get the edge (which is kind of interesting on its own)... it's pretty good.It's a short, pretty sweet fight with two weird crafty gimmicks (clam and imp) that mainly stands out for the gimmick and the Mizukage's charisma. I like that it involves a lot of characters. It's an easy 7/10 for me, maybe even 8, in the sense that I can't criticize Kishimoto for much in this fight, I'm not missing choreography, I think the characters and movesets were interesting, I think the pacing was good.
