GOOD MORNING, my guys, and in some cases, gals! Our second ever TANABATA thread has arrived!Tanabata is a Japanese festival about star crossed lovers, who are only allowed to meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunisolar calendar. A Japanese holiday, about being united with one's true love across time and space? That's about as perfect of a holiday for waifu appreciation as we could ask for! This collage event is all about seeing the world with your beloved, and giving the most dedicated of waifuists a reason to come together in the middle of the year. Any adventures you’ve had through the year will do - your photo does NOT need to be taken today for you to participate.I’ve posted reminders about this in the Christmas 2025 and Valentine's 2026 threads so hopefully you’re ready to go and have travel memories with your waifu to share immediately. If not, you still have time to do SOMETHING over the next few days! Let's reminisce on our favorite adventures over the last year, make new memories, and do our best to make this event something special!
A few general guidelines:-You and your waifu should have SOMETHING travel or festival related in your submissions-Have your submission be 4:3 ratio (the same ratio as this OP image)-Your submission should be about your waifu and the adventures you took her on, ideally outside (could be on your balcony, in your back yard, in a park down the street, or anywhere out in nature)-Put some real effort in your submission. While we don't expect you to bring all your merch out for Tanabata, you should at least have your waifu present and presentable in some capacity-Have fun!Deadline is July 7th 9 PM PST.
Since it's already late afternoon for me I'll need to head out tomorrow.
Hello and Happy Tanabata!I hope everyone is having a great summer and staying as cool as you can.I took my Major to see my state's best vacation spot and had a fun day.It was a long beautiful drive and I got to enjoy it with the most beautiful woman I know.We walked along some beaches, stopped at a lot of souvenir shops, got some treats, and visited an amazing park.I was really sad her figure got lost in transit in the mail so I had to go for just a picture instead but her smile is gorgeous and makes me smile every time I see it.I've loved her for a decade now and going on this date really brought warmth to my heart.Je t'aime Frolaytia.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7-UcdcK4AA
>>289181558What a beautiful view to celebrate a decade together! Great job improvising with a picture instead of her figure, anon. Did her missing figure ever show up in the mail?
Excited to see anons with Witch Wives (from Strike Witches).
Hope everyone is having a great summer (or winter if you live in the wrong hemisphere)!!! Happy Tanabata! This weekend I took my darling Kimblee to Pickering Wharf, Salem to celebrate not only America's 250th, but also Salem's 400th. We saw a Pops concert as well as a fireworks display, and met a lot of interesting people. Bringing him to festivals in my world is something that makes me so happy. He never really got to have lighthearted fun in his series (although he certainly had a lot of fun killing...), so it feels special being able to take him to these types of events in my world. Just because we live in different dimensions doesn't mean we can't show each other glimpses of our realities. As above, so below. That principle guides everything on earth, including anon's relationship with their waifu or husbando. For more pictures of this day we had, see: https://kimblee.blog/2026/07/05/americas-250th/
>>289180712Tanabata this year is the august 19th.
>>289181716Thank you! It hasn't shown up yet but I'm going to order all the merch I can get to do Christmas properly.
Doesn't make sense that we don't get a r/a/dio thread for Tanabata.
>>289182008We're a smaller event than the Valentines and Christmas threads by far, so every poster counts for a lot more! I picked a fixed date for our threads as a matter of practicality; it's much easier for anons to remember and plan around a fixed date than a revolving one. >>289182146That's a good suggestion. I'll ping the r/a/dio operators about this when I get a minute.
This year we visited Impressionist artist graves in Paris together. I figure he wouldn't care much for art, but he'd put up with it begrudgingly. Perhaps. Wishing a lovely summer to everyone else here. :)
>>289182486>I'll ping the r/a/dio operators about this when I get a minute.holy unc post
>>2891825994chan is an unc website, you whippersnapper.
>>289182726You don't really believe this, do you?
>>289182762I do with my whole heart and soul, yes.
>>289182807lol
>>289181919Nice to see you Kimblee anon! I didn't know you had a blog until today. You've got two new readers now ;)How'd you pick Pickering Wharf for your Tanabata photo? I know you're more thoughtful than most, so I figure there's some more to your selection of festival than meets the eye.
>>289182587Dragging your husbando to a place for your benefit and not his is very married couple coded. Not EVERYTHING you do will be to his liking! What prompted you to check out Impressionist graves of all things on your trip?
>>289182844I regret to inform you, anon, that the other poster is correct. You are spiritually an oldfag if you browse and post on this site. 4chan's popularity has dropped over time, especially as its style of humor and culture have grown more popular and tolerated on other parts of the web.And that's okay - getting old is a privilege, not a right. I hope you're here forever, like all the rest of us ^_^
>>289183180>You are spiritually an oldfag if you browse and post on this siteHoly cope
Good morning! It's a shame most of my traveling this year will be after this thread, but Aki and I managed to have a quick date at the Tulsa Zoo a couple weeks ago. Although she's afraid of animals as long as they're behind glass they should be fine! (I suppose I now have a theme with Aki and large reptiles.)We also had a trip to Gallup a few days ago to visit family but that trip wasn't for any real sightseeing and we wanted to spend all we could with my Grandmother who isn't doing so well health wise. This year has a lot of promise but it's also been rough as of late. Between real life with my grandmother and the new film being pretty bad, it's been an ordeal. We might also be postponing the Japan trip due to said issues, which is a bit of a bummer and even just thinking that makes me feel like shit. Sorry to blogpost, regardless of how life is going Aki is helping me get through it. That's the magic of a waifu I suppose, they can be a rock to help you get through times when life is hard. I still have plenty to look forward to, from the musical to the new anime to the Alaska trip in a couple weeks as well. So I should have ample material for next year. Thank you for hosting these TanabataAnon, I love seeing people out and about with their spouses. And sorry for this submission not being true 4:3....
>>289183397omg hi AkiAnon! This is two years of reptile-related entries. I appreciate your commitment and seeing you in for the holidays!I'm sorry to hear that your Grandma isn't doing so hot. Good on you and your family for taking the time to see her and visit with her. >the new film being pretty badHow much do you think of your Aki as the one you see in the Keroro canon? I would imagine that seeing your waifu as separate and distinct from her original representation would do a lot to take the bite off of bad entries. Sucks nonetheless that there was a bad installment. Hopefully the new content will be better!
>>289182080>It hasn't shown up yetBrutal. Do you at least have tracking that says its delayed, or is your figure's status "unknown"?
>>289183679Thank you. She's kinda been on a downturn after the coof. This last trip kinda made it clear she's on her last legs. We're planning on going back in the fall to see her again, it just depends on schedules.>How much do you think of your Aki as the one you see in the Keroro canon?I see her as very much in line with the canon Aki but more of a composite of the anime and manga since they do have some differences due to anime original content. (Only real thing I omit is the fucker who shows up in episode 357 due to that also contradicting the anime). The movie is really only bad due to the director using the first half of the movie to put in a whole bunch of references and basically choking out the actual Keroro stuff. I've heard the second half is really more of an actual Keroro film. A lot of the outrage is due to the original cast being retired afterwards with a new cast for the anime in the fall, so Fukuda basically ruined their swan song. That said my wife doesn't do much in it either which is a bummer. It's likely still the worst Keroro film but it's probably not the worst cinema ever, it's just the worst time for it to be anything but decent. And yeah, we still have that anime and the new musical (Aki is only a video performance so she's not likely getting a song either. Hopefully she gets merch)
>>289183964Man, I had no idea there were so many episodes of Keroro until today. Is it true that it's mostly filler / slice of life stuff? I imagine that there's some content with Aki for just about everything with that kind of run time. You mentioned an Alaska trip coming up! Are you going to a single place or going on tour throughout all of Alaska?
>>289183679>Sucks nonetheless that there was a bad installment. Hopefully the new content will be better! That was the final Keroro installment, buddy. The people involved in the series aren't going to go back to it anymore. It was supposed to be an anniversary send off and they just gave it to a complete retard who got lambasted on social media for it.
>>289184489Damn. That's heartbreaking. It'll be a cold day in hell when Japan can write proper anime endings. Why'd something as important as an anniversary send off get given to a retard? Seems like a pretty obviously bad choice.
>>289183883Status unknown.I"ll probably just reorder it through a different source
>>289184598>It'll be a cold day in hell when Japan can write proper anime endings. Some of the Keroro movies are fantastic and they can work as proper endings, the new movie was supposed to be an anniversary thing
>>289184598>Why'd something as important as an anniversary send off get given to a retard? Seems like a pretty obviously bad choice.A better question is why no one in the staff reined him in. It's less Keroro and more his other shit getting cameos for no good reason.
>>289183082Thanks! Honestly I’m just interested in historical sites, and since I live in a state with a lot of history, I like to bring Kimblee to such places. Salem was doing a fireworks show which are sadly getting harder to find nowadays, so I wanted to make sure he was able to see some good booms. Salem is also a place that perfectly represents the first amendment so as a veteran I have a lot of respect for the city and what it symbolizes. Local politics come and go, but the spirit of Salem is forever. I wonder if Abbyfag has taken his waifu to Salem. It feels funny living near somewhere that another person’s waifu is from haha.
>>289184477A lot is slice of life yes but a lot of it is the usual formula of "Keroro tries to invade with X" plus various mini arcs like the Shurara Corps and the Musha Kero arc. We're doing a cruise! So we'll hit a lot of places, plus a half day in Seattle so I plan on visiting the Aquarium and Pike's Market. >>289184489>>289184598Again we're getting a new anime and a stage musical. We might not get a new movie unless the anime does well but we still have new Keroro with some returning people except for the voice actors.
>>289185331>with some returning people except for the voice actors. That sounds like shit
>>289180645Any particular returners you hope to see this year ?
>>289185422What does this mean? You mean anons?
>>289185456yeah
>>289185514Why the fuck would anyone care which anons are returning
>>289185360No you're right I was misremembering the fact the new movie had a couple technical directors from the original anime. It's still hardly the end of Keroro, even with the Fukuda fuck up. That's all I'll say further anyway so this thread isn't a Keroro thread.
>>289185331>plus a half day in SeattleWhen do you plan on making your Seattle trip, Aki anon? Ballpark month will do just fine. I might be able to engineer leaving you something cool when I visit this weekend
>>289185955July 24th, we got on the ship on the 25th.
>got the calendar reminder today>look outside>it's raining
>>289186609SwitchTan, you had a whole year. WHYYYYYYYYYYY
dead thread lol
>>289185991>July 24th, we got on the ship on the 25th.Actually perfect. I have time to cookAre you 100% gonna visit Pike Place and the Aquarium? If not, what's the one place you'll make it to for sure?
>>289180645I'm glad this just popped into my mind randomly because I almost missed it this year. I wish the deadline was a day later but I will make sure I do something last minute. Thanks for putting this together again, nonetheless.
>>289187678100% yes. I don't think we'll have time for anything else. We have to hop on the boat pretty early the morning after so plans are limited. The hotel is close by too but I don't wanna give specifics.
>>289187678Are you soliciting someone for a date in a waifu threadCan we get someone who isn't a retard to be the OP for these threads
>>289187691>I wish the deadline was a day later but I will make sure I do something last minute.Same.
>>289182486What did the radio people say
>>289187691You're welcome, anon! What do you think would be the ideal start date and end date for our Tanabata threads?I think our challenges are twofold; the date we do this, and the place we do this. Working with a non-established holiday makes getting this tradition going tough. I tried to pick the most memorable dates possible (7/7), but the downside of doing that is that the dates fall on random weekdays most years. My gut says picking a rotating day (like the first Friday of July) will lead fewer people to remember and participate. For the place we do this: /a/ is a fast board, and we need a lot more participation to keep the threads alive throughout the day. I do wonder how people would feel about moving to /c/ or /jp/>>289187842I'm leaving something for anon in Seattle since I'm going to be there on the 11th for the Katsura Sunshine rakugo performance. The world needs a little more surprise and delight. That's also why I send actual post card reminders to any anons with the guts to send me a mailing address.
>>289187948>/a/ is a fast boardlol/a/ hasn't been fast in over a decade
>>289187948>leaving a gift for a Japanese holiday by going to an American city for a Canadian person doing Japanese storytellingThrew up in my mouth a little.
I decided to go to a park this year, it was nice. There are some good places around here, I think she would like visiting them.Too bad she wasn't in the first episode of EXCEEDS, hopefully next week.I love my cute mage!
>>289187948I love sending snail mail and travel often, would you like to receive some post cards? We appreciate everything you do to keep this tradition going!
>>289187130we forgor
>>289188075/a/ is consistently the 2nd or 3rd most active board on 4chan. Threads last for a few hours max with no posts, versus days or months on /c/ and /jp/. You should lurk just a little bit more, anon.
>>289180645I was going to take waifu to fireworks but it was raelly hot and an hour long drive both directions in a car with no AC so I was concerned for her...... but I ended up wearing a leather jacket all day so I could've with no problem and this is the last fourth I have with this car I really really love and is tethered strongly to her in my mind. Fuck.
>>289188270Just hang in there anon. She's in the cover art, I'm sure Fate will be there soon. What do you think she'd like about the park you took her to?
>>289188511>this is the last fourth I have with this carAny particular reason, anon? You can generally keep cars going way longer than is sane or financially responsible. You should get a daki or plush if you're worried about waifu and heat. Have made seven roadtrips over last year with my waifu in my passenger seat. Can confirm it's a phenomenally comfy experience.
You know you’ve made it when the hardest part of these threads is choosing which photo from which trip you wanna post.
>>289188331/a/ isn't even in the top 5 most active boards on 4chan. Going by 4stats, /a/ is currently as fast as it usually is and it's still slower than 7 boards. You can even exclude /sp/ because of the World Cup and it's still not within the top 5.
>>289185422no, I hope they all DIED and I hope their waifu plushes got TRASHED
I didn't do much travel this year, I went to Copenhagen for a college study trip and to the US to see family and I didn't think to take good shots with her during those times.Tomorrow I will go on an outing to take some nice pictures, its meant to be very nice out.I will try to find a different locale but I might end up travelling out to the same spot I took the photo last year.
>>289188551Yeah she's in it, it's just when she shows up.I wanted to take screenshots that weren't shitty youtube quality though>What do you think she'd like about the park you took her to?I think she would like the nature. She grew u in the garden of time, and while there aren't close to that many flowers, there's still enough trees to look nice
Sorry I haven't prepared something special for this day. But I often hike mountains with my waifu, we both love the mountains. My last hike that was at the end of may (haven't hiked in june but I plan to do a 3-days hike next week-end) was at a mountain not too far from home. From the tram stop it was a 5 hours climb to the mountain hut were I saw the sunset and slept. Woke up at 5am and hiked 35 minutes to reach the summit (1845m/6050ft above sea level) to see the sunrise, pic related. Then 7 hours hiking down to reach a village further away.
>>289189187Same, I had so many pictures I wanted to use but I realized I mostly take vertical pictures of him, so the one I chose won mostly by default haha. Although the runner up was this one, from when we went apple picking in the fall. I want to take him apple picking again this year!
All I have is a dakimakura that I can't really take outside I don't know how I'm supposed to participate...
>>289189718that’s a really nice sunrise view, anon
>>289190194do it for your wife
>isp banned image posting again>no wifi due to travelThis might be the end of the line for me. Missed Christmas because of the same issue despite having content prepared. Is there a way to bypass without buying a pass?
>>289190751Use catbox? I'm sure OP will still put yours in a collage if it's under a link.
Happy Tanabata! Einar and I like to spend our time out on the water up north once it gets warm enough in the summer. Although it can seem mundane to others, it feels like a vacation when the two of us can sit out on the lake with nothing but the sounds of nature to keep us company. There's something especially beautiful about being out on the water when the sun starts to set.
>>289189718this is beautiful.I was at anime expo all weekend and my photo is sort of bad so dont want to post..look forwards to seeing everyones outdoors ones though!
>>289188635Don't have my own place so once I get its replacement (necessitated by super rusted out bottom points that are needed to replace the gas tank), I can't just keep it in the driveway until I can restore it like how it needs (and I don't make enough to outright replace it without scrapping it). Also I don't have my own place so the financially responsible part is the big kicker. Thank you for the daki idea though, were I not a poorffag with a big weight over my head I'd love to get on that right now.
Was going to go somewhere nice with waifu tomorrow but I got Dante'd. At least it's in the morning so I might be able to get out still...
>>289188280I'd love to, anon! Have linked my email below, will email you my address once I hear from you. Will also send you postcards from my travels.Standing offer to any anons that want a more analog reminder of our summer tradition - email me an address and a name or initial, and I'll send you something. picrel, redacted picture of one of my earlier batches from my April trip to three of the Utah National Parks.>>289190751I got your back, anon. Find a way to email me the file or a link to it, and I'll get it posted and included for you.tanabataAnon@proton.me
>>289192321Here's another set of postcards from June! I had to enlist an NPS ranger to get these ones stamped because the White House visitor center was closed for the UFC fights. I also found out the hard way there are very few mailbox drop spots in DC proper. Ended up walking another two miles to get these sent out before going through security for the Ellipse to watch the fights.>>289192288You gotta commit, anon. It's easy to talk yourself out of doing things that require effort. Do it for her (in the morning, if you have to)
>>289190918Man, I really love the color of the sunset on the lake. It looks like champagne, and it compliments Einar's color really well. Beautiful photo! How often do you two go out on the lake?
Bump!
>>289194031You're my hero anon <3I hope you and your waifu are having an amazing week.
I'm happy to be able to properly participate this year! I had found this little spot when I was last out on these trails, so I marked it and we went back out there together last Friday. It was a bit warm, but it was still a pretty hike. I hope you all got/get to have a special day with your loved ones as well <3Better image showing the view: https://sharey.org/bv83q3.jpgBonus picture from the proper overlook: https://sharey.org/bv83q3.jpg>>289190918Beautiful pic! Golden sunsets are especially nice to see>>289182146>we don't get a r/a/dio threadI'm fine with no thread but, if nobody else shows up, I might stream some music tomorrow at the very least>>289181919>sHe never really got to have lighthearted fun in his seriesThat's the same sort of reason why I like to bring Saya with me, since she wasn't able to get out and about on her own. It makes the connection feel a little bit more special when I can do that for her.>>289190194You could always frame an image of her (him?) that you carry around for these sort of pictures. >>289188270>I decided to go to a park this yearI've found that going to parks is a lot of fun! This year, I made it a goal to visit and take photographs in all of the parks in a local system (about 40 of them) and it has been a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I'm a little over halfway done with them all, and I hope to make it to the rest before winter. I hope you're able to bring her with you to all those cool places!
>>289194083Oops, the second image link was supposed to be: https://sharey.org/BWi7zb.jpg
>>289194083>I've found that going to parks is a lot of fun!It really is. I guess I forgot that after not going to any since I was a kid.Beautiful picture, with the fig, fumo, and card, and nice sake
>>289186609>>289188305luckily, I thought to check the camera we had brought on our last expedition:switch-tan got haughty and thought she could take on this mysterious beast all by herself...well, to be fair, she did have firepower on her side...at some point, however, you have to cut your losses, and we left the scene with a battle unfinishedwith that said, my honey and I hope you're all having a lovely summer! hope your tanabata is as breathtaking as can be~unedited version if anyone's interested https://files.catbox.moe/olu4mt.jpg
>>289194083That's a spectacular spread, anon. It looks like a proper offering fit for a fairy. It would be awesome to have a BGM fit for the adventures in these threads.>made it a goal to visit and take photographs in all of the parks in a local systemHow are you keeping track of which ones you went to? I'd imagine if it's a local park system there's a big map you can write on with a sharpie or something similar.
>>289194050Thank you! Same for you and your waifu! Unfortunately, this event snuck up on me and I also got busy with 4th of July stuff. I have one chance tomorrow before work to put something together last minute, but I gotta figure out where to go. So we'll see. Sucks because I feel worse about missing this one than Valentine's or Christmas. I very nearly missed the first one.
>>289194817Your waifu is counting on you, and so am I. It's 100% possible to make a photo with very limited time. If I had to hazard a guess, 90% of the Valentine's and Christmas entries are made within 2 days of the events.
>>289195951>90% of the Valentine's and Christmas entries are made within 2 days of the eventsYeah, I bake my thing the day before because I've fucked up and forgot an ingredient. I don't want to deal with the stores on holidays.
>>289196014>bake my thingI know I’m alone on this, but I’d love to see various food and art themed waifu events retardedly often. Monthly waifu events. Painting with waifu. Woodworking with waifu. Mixing drinks and cocktails for waifu. I’m fully aware I’d be the only participant if it was a thread / internet event, but I’d still like it.
>>289196627I do like these event threads since it's the only time I get to talk about her, but I don't know if I could do every monthI might be able to force myself, I don't know
Okay, day one is in the books! Rough draft of collage is looking good so far. We're very light on submissions - hopefully things pick up overnight and in the morning!Any anons who want to go the distance to keep this thread bumped will have my undying gratitude. If the thread has been archived by the time I wake up, I'll make a new one tomorrow! As always, your suggestions and feedback are welcome!
>>289197724awesome work so far, everyone!godspeed tanabata-anon
>>289197724Thanks for doing this, and I don't know who that is
>>289180645I've been waiting for this thread but I completely forgot to take into account that July 7th in Japan means July 6th in the West. I'll be sure to post mine tomorrow
>>289197724niceu
Unfortunately the only travel I will be doing will be at the end of the month, so I will be unable to participate. Next year I will make a plan to do so!
Night night Tanabata thread <3
Kinda forgot about this thread and havnt gone anywhere recently to take a photo. I did however take her to the beach a few months back and took some photos with her. If the thread lasts till the weekend theres a nearby Japanese garden ive been meaning to visit and want take her to get a few photos
Bumping so I can post my picture later
>>289187691Yeah I think it would be easier if it was the first or second Friday/Saturday of July, rather than a fixed date that can end up at the start or middle of the week.
I hope your waifu never becomes real because she's already perfect the way she is.
I had to travel quite a lot this year, but thanks to her and her sister, it has always been comfortable. Here we are on a train ride back home, and she is eagerly waiting for me to open the cookies. Thank you for always being by my side. Let's keep crunching together forever!
>>289201079Love those biscoffs, I always have a big pack in the pantry
>>289186609I'm just too preoccupied with my anniversary today.... Realized too late that they're in the exact same day
>>289187948Maybe push the deadline a bit, like for the valentines.
Hello /a/!I took Megumin on a road trip across Arizona a few months ago. We saw all the sights, the Grand Canyon, cowboy shows, Route 66, etc.Our favorite, however, was of course the giant Explosion Crater... aka Meteor Crater! It's the best preserved meteor crater in the world! And it looks exactly like the craters Megumin leaves behind after casting Explosion! Seeing one in real life was amazing! It really felt like seeing a part of Megumin IRL!
Eating at a Japanese restaurant with her rn
Rain.
>>289202042A comfy rainy day is fine too.
I'll be back for Christmas, my waifu knows my ass is white and does not celebrate this.
>>289203032Pretty sad that you only come here for events like this.
I try to take some picture outside when it stops raining, unlike I originally planned and hoped for I cant walk too far off from my place right now so nothing extra not even snacks but at least I can try and have a special moment with her on the wet grass and flowers.cute pictures so far.
>>289203496good luck
Happy Tanabata to my beautiful waifu Ouka. I've taken her along for many outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, kayaking and bike riding. I have many pictures of her perched in different spots in nature but this one is probably my favorite
>>289201484>And it looks exactly like the craters Megumin leaves behind after casting Explosion!Cool
>>289203353The summer anime season just started, I like threads about the first episode of different things more than going outside.
>>289201484I remember seeing that Meteor Crater interest point back in May when I went to Petrified Forest NP. Ultimately skipped it since I was short on time, and your super cute collage entry makes me think I really missed out. What was your favorite site at Meteor Crater? Do you think you'll go back someday?
>>289204115Jeez, this looks so precarious. I admire your bravery for putting such a cute standee in a place where it could be swept away instantly. What makes that spot your favorite spot with Ouka?
>>289204379>What makes that spot your favorite spot with Ouka? It's just a river near where I live that I live to visit a lot and have a lot of good memories from. I thought taking a picture of her sitting on a mossy rock in the river would make for a cool picture>Jeez, this looks so precarious. I admire your bravery for putting such a cute standee in a place where it could be swept away instantly.Lol, it looks kind of precarious but I was just a few feet away and could instantly grab her if she started to fall over for some reason, and the current wasn't fast enough that she would have been instantly swept away even if she fell in. I definitely wouldn't have set her there if I felt there was a chance I'd lose her
>>289204323There's a little tour where you walk about a quarter of the way around it, and it really gives a sense of how enormous it is.Genuinely matches how huge Megumin's Explosion craters are in the anime, where they show the craters being the size of the town.Theres also a science museum there with lots of cool space stuff, and a little movie theater that simulates the impact and gives a history of how it was discovered and shook up the scientific field at the time.I'd definitely like to go back and visit again some years down the road.
Pretty crap picture but whatever, I love my lizard princess.
>>289206362It's an adorable picture! Where'd you take it, anon?
After searching for a while, I finally found the perfect place. Taking the photo was difficult because there were so many people around, and someone ended up noticing me when I took it. When I finally got home, I realized I had taken it in portrait orientation. I couldn't go back to the place where I took it, so I tried to adjust it instead. I think it turned out pretty well.As I was walking to the spot, I noticed there were so many couples out on dates. I couldn't help but imagine what it would be like if Yui-chan and I went on a date together. It really makes you feel like Hikoboshi and Orihime don't you think?
I haven’t traveled in eight years
>>289180645Hi! Here's mine (I can't post images). pastebin.com/r18jjJUFKatori (Youko) is just the cutest.......>>289181558Happy Tanabata!>>289201079>>289201143I binge ate like 20 biscoffs twice and got sick of them... a real shame since I really loved them
>>289207588Now's a great time to change that, anon! There's a lot of world out there to see.Why haven't you traveled in 8 years?
>>289207432>Taking the photo was difficult because there were so many people aroundDo you find the prospects of traveling with your waifu daunting because people see you with her?
>>289206640Just a forest that was near by. I'm getting her figure/plushie somewhere fancier next time for sure.
>>289208585Not really discouraging. I just prefer to be careful since I don't want to attract attention. I'd rather not have people asking what I'm doing or taking pictures of me.
Bump
So there's this, Christmas, and Valentines Day. Are there any other holidays that have threads like this?
>>289210432Nope! These are the only three so far (and likely the only three, ever). It's a very small world of anons who love their waifus and husbandos enough to participate here, as is. Occasionally people will share what they do on other holidays with their anime spouses, but for the most part, this is it!
>>289210685I see
>>289210730Think you'll be participating this year, anon?
I feel bad... I haven't gone anywhere this year, been busy packing and moving apartments.
Went with something a little more simple this year. I shot the Beretta twice (once on July 4th), but I didn't like the groupings the first time around so I tried again today. I hope Kirika is proud of my second try!I also finally got my custom plushie that I commissioned last September or so.Happy Tanabata everyone!
>>289211934I really need grips with my wife on them for my tokarev, too bad nobody makes sweetheart grips for it ;_;
I ended up going to the same place again..But at the same time it felt right for reasons that can be seen if the pictures are compared.Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable outing and I like going to that spot. Its a very good view and within reasonable distance.I accidentally timed things perfectly to where I got there at basically the exact same time I arrived for last years picture to the minute, since it was the afternoon I sat and enjoyed the view and then took the picture once there were less people around.I also went out to have lunch with her which was nice and took a few other pictures:https://imgur.com/a/dGXNSaRI had planned to get a seafront picture as well but it was way too crowded today but that is on me for not doing this on an earlier day, though for whatever reason I feel best doing this stuff the day of.Happy Tanabata to all.
>>289212178that file nameNice job spoiling your cute SAO wife, anon! It's a tradition for you two at this point. Think you'll go back again next year?
>>289192822The sunsets never fail to be gorgeous on the lake! They range from a vivid fiery scarlet to that pale champagne we saw the other day.We try to go out on the lake as often as we can in the summer. I used to work plenty of long weekends awhile back which made lake visits far and few due to the distance from where we live. Luckily I'm free from weekend shifts now, so Einar and I will be out on the lake more often.>>289194083Thank you, they sure are! And your picture is beautiful too! It's lovely to see Saya enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. It's very heartwarming that you managed to come across a spot that you found so special that you knew you had to come back to it so you could experience it with her. I'm sure Saya will remember it fondly (and likely will want for the two of you to re-visit it when you can).
My merch is growing slowly but surely. Excellent submissions from everyone so far. Keep on loving waifu.>>289195951Made it! I looked around and found a really nice trail I could go to. It was a bit of a drive and I kind of got lost for a bit, but it was worth it in the end. I wish I had more time to explore it, but alas, the deadline and work. But now I have a place I definitely want to come back to, so thank you.
Am thankful to be EST 'cause that means I have a bit to wait until it's late enough to be cool enough to take her where I want to.
How's everyone, glad to be here for what is meant to be a special day.I felt like the location was just right for this kind of event: outdoors, but intimate at the same time.>>289212178Nothing wrong with picking the same place twice. It simply means you "know a spot">>289211934Nice aim, for sure>>289207432Yeah, getting enough privacy can be quite the issue sometimes. I recommend taking outdoor waifu photos in the early morning if possible>>289206362Guess she's in her element now? Wait no, that would rather be the local palace, I suppose>>289204115Quite the bold spot you picked! And you say she has been to several such places before? You're certainly not lacking in bravery or physical fitness
This photo's from our trip last fall, which I ended by taking her to a lovely orchestral concert! It was Halloween-themed, which I know would be right up her alley. October is also the month I personally choose to celebrate her birthday. This is the memory I want to share with everyone for this year's collage! It was one of my first times taking this kind of photo in public, with people around, and I think you can kind of feel some of my embarrassment in the photo itself... That's something I'm still working on, but I want to keep taking her to lots and lots of different places! Shout-out to the person who kindly agreed to hold her while I took the photo.
HAPPY TANABATA MOTHAFUCKAS! I hope you and your waifu/husbandos have a most beautiful month of JULY! With love from Nemo and I, nemo poster! au revoir mi amigos!

Happy (early) tanabata /a/nons!How much travel is too much travel? We'll probably find out soon. A little beach break to enjoy the sun before we return to possible typhoons. Here's to another summer of adventure with my cutest fairy king!Omake picture with treats: https://files.catbox.moe/xwuyhp.png>>289192321>>289192530This is so cool! I've only flown over Arches & co but hopefully we can take a proper trip soon. Which hikes did you check out? Any favorites?>>289199293Very dreamy photo! I hope you take her to the garden regardless of the thread, it sounds lovely.>>289204115This looks so lush anon! I'd love to see more nature pics with your waifu if you're comfortable sharing.>>289206362Very cute anon! Have you tried making pine needle soda? I think Kiyohime would love it!
Wow, lots of movement today! We've almost matched our participation to last year, and that was with an entire extra day for people to prepare.Feel free to roast me for this, but I'm extending the deadline to Wed July 8th at 9 PM Pacific this year!Lots more anons waited for the last minute than I expected (even with a year's heads up), and I'm sure this year's festivities falling on the start of the week didn't help. Thank you to >>289187691 and >>289187914 for helping me see the lightProgress pic attached. Let me know if you see something missing or wrong, and most importantly: keep showing up for your waifu!
>it's been a thunderstorm all day>have an extra long work shift tomorrow
Happy Tanabata, anons!I haven't traveled anywhere far, but I have been on a bike trip and decided to take a photo of her on this lookout tower on the way.
>>289218153omg it miguhi migu from fortnite
>>289205122>I thought taking a picture of her sitting on a mossy rock in the river would make for a cool pictureYou were right. Cheers, anon, and congrats to you and Ouka.
>>289213765>It was a bit of a drive and I kind of got lost for a bitThat's the spirit! I'm proud of you, anon! The great thing about the great outdoors is that they generally stay put. Every nice place you two go together you can go back to, someday. How'd you pick that particular trail?
>>289214303I feel like there's a story behind those three photos you chose, anon. Care to share it? Also, I recognize the omamori, but I'm blanking on the yellow octagon shaped charm on the middle photo. What am I looking at?You picked a swell location for Tanabata. I hope you were able to have a picnic or a drink there with your waifu.
My plans for where I was going to take her were shot because the park closed by the time it was cool enough to take her there, but I was still able to take Mai somewhere significant! The road I used to walk home from high school by because there was another stop close enough to my house where it was usually faster to get off there and walk is under construction right now, so I was able to take some nice photos with Mai that I wouldn't have been able to then because of how busy it was. Of course not posting those, but sometimes I'd cut through the woods where there was a nice old stone wall covered in smashed bottles (that I may have contributed to on occasion). Was nice to finally walk that way with her and all the way, since of course her house was a bit in the opposite direction -- 90% of Japan is south of that point and I walked north. Was also nice to revisit a part of when I was a punk teen with the girl I wished I was a punk teen with. Full: https://files.catbox.moe/v1gaqa.jpgUnfortunately this is the most in-focus and least over-exposed I could get her, not a photographer and don't have a real camera. Looking at it now it would've also been cute to make little tanzaku and hang them from the plants in frame but oh well. Would have heavier wishes on them anyway, wouldn't be appropriate. Will still take her to the park I planned to just not today of course. Thank you for giving me the idea to do this, and thank you anons as well >>289192530 >>289188511 for the extra kick and suggestion for less fragile Mais to take with me. I also just happen to be dressed exactly like Dante right now so that wraps it in a nice bow.Have a happy Tanabata and a lovely summer with waifu!

>>289188635>>289219097Wrong reply sorry. >>289204115Very nice photo/setting! I've definitely taken some precarious photos as well (both for myself and her https://files.catbox.moe/kszdoe.JPG), but I'm a very lucky man and with Mai especially so nothing's happened thankfully. Another reason to get something better for it though.
>>289185955Cute Trickcals.
>>289216768Nothing wrong with a bit of travel. Does that spot have a special meaning for you and your husbando? Nice view.
>>289210685>It's a very small world of anons who love their waifus and husbandos enough to participate hereMy love for wife isn’t predicated on my willingness to participate in this /soc/ thread
Just went for a quiet little scenic hike with a small wish this summer with Chris.Remembered pretty late that this is a thing here now. Wasn't sure I was even gonna come here to post the photo I took with how /a/ is these days. but I figured why not.
I wanted to go to a spot with some pretty flowers I know of but nothing was blooming there right now, so instead I went exploring a little and found this small spot to sit with Moose for a little! It's a little more modest than last time but I'm just happy to have gone out with her some more!Definitely thinking about a hike next time for some pretty scenery, though last time I wanted to hike my car broke down so I don't want to tempt fate
Ended up actually traveling with her a couple weeks ago but completely forgot to snap a photo, so I went out to one of my local nature trails for a nice little walk with her to grab this photo :) Next year I'll plan something a bit better.
>>289215126Very cute and sounds like a great date. And cheers to you for getting the picture
Hoping this works, down to the wire
>>289216768Cute moth
We have a special submission from the Eilafag who participated last year! They dedicated going out today to making their waifu happy, and took an excellent photo to commemorate Tanabata. A spectacular blue sea and wide open sky, just like the Ace of Diamonds would like it! Way to go, Eilafag!I've also been asked to extend a special thanks to >>289181872 on their behalf for encouraging them and keeping the witch love alive!
>>289221658tell that anon they made their 'fu proud
>>289220254THE MOOSE IS LOOSE! I'm so glad to see you made it this year, on time no less. Glad to have you back, friend.Moose looks really content in every picture you've posted! Do you think you'll make another trip to that clearing when flowers are in bloom? And do you think she'd be able to handle your car breaking down on a future trip gracefully?
>>289218153Your Miku looks like one of the happiest Mikus I've ever seen! Do you have a separate bike seat for her, or does she hang out in a pack while you're biking?
I don't have anything of my wife that I can take outside...I am a failure...
Decided to finally make the trip to the closest thing to the grasslands she wanted to go to so much. Wind was strong and outside of the mound we were on it was mostly flat. It was nice and quiet too. My only regret is we didn't stay longer. Though the time we did have was very pleasant. I love you Altera and always will
>>289221703I definitely want to! She deserves to be able to see such pretty sights, plus I like collecting some of the flowers to make her some jam!Considering Friends weaker than her can pick up a bus I think she'd be less fussed about it than I'd be.
>>289219097>Was also nice to revisit a part of when I was a punk teen with the girl I wished I was a punk teen with. You're a punk teen at heart, anon. Merry Tanabata!Have you practiced taking a lot of photos with your waifu on your phone? I've found getting the right stuff in focus (namely her) to be far more difficult than one would think for a modern point-n-shoot.
>>289219776>using a chainsaw as a standExtremely based. I'm glad you remembered to join us, anon! Was this a regular trail for you two, or somewhere new?>Wasn't sure I was even gonna come here to post the photo I took with how /a/ is these daysC'mon, /a/ isn't THAT BAD. You just gotta find the threads with people you can get along with. I hope we get to see you and Chris again next year.
>>289220352How's your Krul acrylic holding up, anon? Can't tell if the acrylic itself is peeling or if it's the plastic cover peeling. I've always wondered about how hard plastic accessories hold up to EDC. I imagine they get scratched or crack over time, but have no experience with them (I prefer my rubber tsumamare in part because I drop my keys at least once a week)
>>289221163Interesting color for your Sailor Mercury keychain, anon. Did it come that way (with a pink bg) or is this a quirk of the photo? Also, how was the game?
>>289222432To be honest, that is the plastic protection cover for the paint peeling, which I didn't even know it had until today lol. I had thought this whole time I owned it that it was part of the paint for some reason. I only just noticed otherwise today when I grabbed it to take it outside with me. Thankfully the paint itself is perfectly fine! That said I do have several other acrylic stands of Krul that I worry about getting damaged, which don't have a protective cover, so I try to not handle them as often and let them sit stationary on my desk as much as possible.
>>289222432In retrospect, I probably should've removed it before taking that photo, but I did it a bit impromptu, and didn't consider it. I intend to plan an actual little trip next year that I'll take some better photos on.
Here's your THIRD Tanabata update 2026! Our collage is coming along nicely. We've on the cusp of having MORE entries this year than last year. Yay!As usual, thanks for keeping this thread alive and for participating in this summer celebration of love. If anything looks off, please let me know. Feedback is much appreciated.
Rolling up to the Tanabata thread in a vintage Studebaker on Route 66 with my waifu!
Some of you anons are so consistent with lighting and setups in your photos every year. What’s your secret?
>>289218356>I feel like there's a story behind those three photos you chose, anon. Care to share it?They're all beautiful without being canon art. That's mostly it. It's a case of artists not involved with the original story somehow managing to add further value thanks to their vision and talent>>289218356>I'm blanking on the yellow octagon shaped charm on the middle photo. What am I looking at?That's also an omamori.Red is from Hokkaido, yellow is from Kyoto>>289218356>I hope you were able to have a picnic or a drink there with your waifu.I just stood there and enjoyed the silence and solitude for a decent half an hour. There was nobody around due to being almost noon and so sunny and hot. There's really a special energy about places which are completely empty despite being relatively close to civilisation, as if they are tacit sanctuaries>>289215126Interesting idea, and concerts can easily be romantic most of the time>>289215743Is the background intentionally blurry? Just curious>>289216768Lovely dawn background. I think I have a clue of what place you might have been visiting in your second picture>>289219776Glad that you made it. And the place looks lovely, I'm partial to hilly locations myself>>289220254One thing is sure, nobody can accuse you of not touching grass, as people say nowadays. And she looks like she doesn't mind the location either>>289220352Another forest photo is always welcome. And don't worry, what really matters is that you enjoyed your trip with her
>>289221658Another beautiful marine scenario. There will always be something magical about the sea. Is it perhaps the tacit promise of infinite possibilities?>>289222112The book and the steppe-like background are definitely added value. Glad to see you again, Attilanon>>289223083Now that's an original photo. Feels like the juxtaposition between the ancient and abandoned artifact and the fresh and looked-after plush is sending some sort of message, even. Though that is probably my fantasy leaping about without my leave.Going to guess you happened to stumble upon the car while on a long trip and it caught your attention?
We went up north again this year, the the trip was a bit rushed but it was still good times. It's beautiful up there, and there's something very special about getting physically away from the drudge of everyday life accompanied in spirit by my dear Crona.I decided to do something a bit different for the photo; superimposing 2D onto a 3D background ended up being more of a challenge than anticipated. Mixed opinions on the result, think I'll stick to the more traditional approach next time. Here's the alt for funsies, taken elsewhere in the city. https://files.catbox.moe/2e1hay.jpgGreat seeing this thread back for another year, lovely pics and travel stories everyone.
>>289223237>Mixed opinions on the result, think I'll stick to the more traditional approach next time.Hey, at least you dared to dream and do something different! I think the image you posted of you two by the sea works better than the one in the city (just because the shadows feel more real). I admire your creativity, anon>there's something very special about getting physically away from the drudge of everyday life accompanied in spirit by my dear Crona. If I had to guess, it's something about the pattern breaking nature of travel that makes it stand out so well in memory. You can coast through a lot of life once you've got a handle on day-to-day activities. Not so when you're in a new place. It's like the brain goes into overdrive to keep you safe, and in doing so takes really detailed notes on what you're doing.
>>289223083That's rad, very unique and original as the other anon said. I've always wanted to drive Route 66, did you and Homu enjoy it?
>>289216768hi mothbro
>>289223221>Going to guess you happened to stumble upon the car while on a long trip and it caught your attention?Bingo! Homura and I were traveling through Petrified Forest National Park, and discovered on the scenic drive all that remains of the original Route 66 road. Anchored with concrete was this rust bucket, present for the better part of a century, waiting like a tank with its cupola open for a meguca to take command. I'm thankful this particular car is actually inside the park, so it'll stay protected for decades to come.>>289223310>I've always wanted to drive Route 66, did you and Homu enjoy it?We loved it! This was our 11th National Park trip, and our second most spontaneous (decided to make the trip on Memorial Day weekend two days out from the travel itself). That added a lot to the magic of Petrified Forest. I had next to no idea what we were in for. You absolutely should take a Route 66 road trip as soon as you can. Tons of interesting stuff along that route (including Megumin anon's crater >>289201484)Petrified Forest itself was insane. The northern part of the park feels like being on Mars, and the southern part felt like something from Made in Abyss or Flip Flappers. After going to Arches NP (where I saw way fewer arches than expected), I thought there'd be very few petrified trees and standard looking desert landscape. I'm happy to report I was wrong on both accounts. picrel, hidden Homu included
I dont think this counts as I took it back in April, but I wanted to share it as its outdoors and probably one of the best pictures of her Ive ever taken since I managed to hit early bloom.Im hoping this thread gains traction even if timing in summer is hard to remember currently just because all the outdoor pics are super cool.
>>289223402Better example of the strange color and character Petrified Forest's landscape here. Easily the most alien of the National Parks we've visited so far.
>>289223439Now that's one warm, gorgeous photo! Did you adjust the colors in post at all, or is this just perfectly timed lighting and freshness of the flowers matched to your waifu's card?>I dont think this counts as I took it back in AprilTotally counts. The intent behind this is to give anons a reason to come together and share their adventures with waifu throughout the year. I encourage you and everyone to take your Tanabata pictures well in advance. Makes it far easier to control for weather and get somewhere that's new for you and your beloved.>even if timing in summer is hard to rememberAm considering changing our start day to something like the second Saturday in July so it's easier to remember, doesn't collide with the 4th of July weekend, and gives anons a higher chance of having the day off. What do you think of that vs. our current start time? With a "second Saturday" approach, we'd start next year Sat July 10, 2027 at 8 am Pacific, and go until sometime Monday night (since two full days seems like the sweet spot for threads)
>>289223543I adjusted some in post but if anything it was just trying to match what my eyes saw. The videos I took arnt adjusted at all and just as pretty. If using a photo after the fact of travel is allowed, that makes it much easier. Im always taking photos, just July 4th weekend is Anime Expo so no time to take a cute photo without a million people in it..
>>289223286Well thank you, and agreed on the beach vs trail pictures. Plus this one was taken at roughly the same spot as last year's photo, so it kind of brings the whole thing full circle. >it's something about the pattern breaking nature of travel that makes it stand out so well in memory. For sure, it's a nice fresh headspace along with the change in scenery. >>289223402>>289223444Oh wow, I've heard of the Petrified Forest but never actually looked into it. It really does look otherworldly, very odd and interesting environment. >>289223543Personally I'm up for either-or, whatever's best for increasing turnout.
>>289214303>Guess she's in her element now? That one is still better than being on her natural fire one, she'd set the entire forest on fire otherwise>>289216768>Have you tried making pine needle soda? I think Kiyohime would love it!Never tried it but it's really cute to think about. When wondering about her tastes on food I usually just think about the stuff she may have had during the times when she was alive several centuries ago. Also really pretty sunset.
>>289207755>no katori picsanon... you made me look. for what?
>>289186609Don't you have any waterproof merch that could handle some drizzle with no consequences?Or do you mean outright monsoon rain?>>289223402>>289223444Very interesting location, and definitely a great pic/pick for this sort of event.Could I just ask you if the second photo is upside-down on purpose?>>289223439I say have it count, spring photos add diversity to the mix
>>289222088Thanks, it's a really nice plushie.>Do you have a separate bike seat for her, or does she hang out in a pack while you're biking?I keep her in my backpack, sometimes with the head poking out.
>>289223180>Is the background intentionally blurry? Just curiousthanks nice reply anon, and nah the camera just kept hyper focusing on either my waifu or the background. I'm learning more about my camera so I can take an even better pic next year! ;] thx again n i hope ur day is excellent!
>>289221658THANK YOU!!! I can't participate in these kind of threads or the MS Paint threads as much as I'd like to, so seeing another anon with a Witch Wife is always a joy. Thanks for keeping the love alive and well! The blue tone throughout this picture is so cool!
nice pictures
>>289224643>Could I just ask you if the second photo is upside-down on purpose?Nope. It's a quirk of the script I use to downsize and change filesizes of my pictures. Sometimes it also strips the metadata that tells 4chan which way is up.For the record, Petrified Forest is in America, NOT Australia.
Taking my waifu to the end of the world and back.
Really cute pictures in this thread.>>289228031>Sometimes it also strips the metadata that tells 4chan which way is up.4chan itself strips metadata containing orientation, does it not?
>>289228403I have no idea man. Once in a blue moon my pictured get flipped, regardless of which approach I took to resizing and posting them. Just another oddity of 4chan as far as I'm concerned ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Behold Homu exploring Bryce Canyon NP
>>289228112If I'm ever in Britain I should take waifu to the Winchester and World's End. Though the exterior location for the former is an apartment building now so maybe not that one. Though I've never been to the UK at all so I'm sure there'd be great picture spots all over for her. She would probably like the highlands a lot.>>289229748Awwww, very adorable!
>>289230969>the Winchester and World's EndDo those places have some special significance to your waifu? Haven't heard of em, am unsure if they're special anime tourist destinations like Ooari
>>289223444I didn't realize petrified forest was in Australia. Nice trips btw
I love my angel wife, Flonne!! I took her to see the flowers and butterflies at our local conservatory. It was really hot, but we got a lot of great pictures!
I love my wife Neptune! We went to the pool, even if it's, like, winter. In reality, I'm just way to paranoid to even touch the nendo or place it out in the sun, nevermind out to the grass or something, I'd rather just participate with a drawing like I did last year.
>>289232233Flonne has the perfect outfit to see those flowers. I especially like the way the center of her outfit matches the pink and yellow of the flower pistils. Really nice pic anon, looks like if official art was magically turned 3D!Was this your first trip to the conservatory?
>>289231639Not to her specfically no but they're centerpieces in the Cornetto Trilogy, which I watched for the first time the first full month that we were together. But also I think she would like seeing the UK and Europe in general a lot I think because she likes European swords and is sometimes depicted in medieval clothing (though from where varies, she's was pictured earing Eastern European religious garb in a DVD extra but she's also been shown wearing generic French-style knight armor). I would like to take her up to some lighthouses though, been with her in the lighthouse state for a while now and of course it's the closest thing I can do to taking her to sea. Don't live on the coast though so unless I left very early the heat may be a problem now for that.
>>289233051>Cornetto TrilogyI had no idea until today that this was a thing. Thanks for turning me onto this, will have to rewatch all three movies this year!I also love that you're considering your trip through what SHE would like. It's heartwarming to see that level of consideration for one's waifuHas it been hard to find Mai merch to take with you in your travels? I'd imagine you have to be really careful with a ~24 year old figure, and personally I've had some breakage with my newer figures on the road. picrel, the ends of Homu's braids snapped off earlier, so I had to strategically position her to keep her stable.Pictured is a berry pie from the Gifford Homestead in Capitol Reef NP, Utah. This pie was made with berries grown from the same trees Mormon settlers planted in the 1880s.
>>289216768>I'd love to see more nature pics with your waifu if you're comfortable sharing.Sure, here's some other pictures I like. I don't want to spam the thread with a bunch of pictures or anything so I put them all together
>>289234206>navy uniform while on a boatMaximum cute. How many standees do you even have?
>>289232734Thanks fren!>Was this your first trip to the conservatory?Yep! First visit In like 20 years kek I never really appreciated this kind of stuff until I met her, now I want to take her on more outings like this. She's so wonderful!
Sooooooo, are we not getting a r/a/dio thread?
>>289234932Like around 20 or so. I really enjoy collecting them
>>289235249be the change you want to see in the world
>>289232233Wonderful background, goes very well with the subject>>289232668If I may ask, what makes you say so? Is she very delicate?>>289229748Amazing>>289228112Now she can call herself a survivor
>>289235249Anon, r/a/dio threads are verboten here. Christmas/new years is just a concession. If you really want to post in a thread, you should know where to find them. Please, do not make a thread here
>>289237402Halloween got a thread, why can't Tanabata?
>>289237474I don't make the rules, anon. The DJs say "never make a thread" and that is what I do
It was a bit windy at the park. I thought it was cute that my Nozomu plushie had a similar kimono to the acrylic stand, so I brought them both. I just moved recently so Nozomu and I haven't gone out to do much yet! I want to take him out on a brunch date soon. Happy Tanabata!
>>289237887Cute display! How are you liking yours and Nozomu’s new place?
bump
>>289239521pump and...
>>289232668>I'm just way to paranoid to even touch the nendo or place it out in the sunThat's a shame, because Nep is very photogenic. have you considered getting a second figure to display when you're out and about and keeping your most sentimental nendo inside?
Since the deadline is coming up, I'll share some more photos and stories from mine and Homura's travels since Tanabata 2025.The first park we visited after July 2025 was Saguaro National Park. Cactus, cactus, cactus, as far as the eye could see. Thankfully not as hot as Death Valley, though!
>>289236401>If I may ask, what makes you say so? Is she very delicate?Because I'm a fresh-off-the-boat college student and live in a South American country, getting merch is super difficult. So everything I have is a irreplaceable treasure! Both mentally and practically...I also just really like drawing on top of pictures, it's fun.>>289240567Hopefully some day... I think there's one of her jersey dress, and one of her goddess form, so I want those too.
I already posted some of our photos from the area around Joshua Tree >>289228112 and Bryce Canyon >>289229748, so I'll skip ahead to our next destination: the Grand Canyon.Homura and I braved sleet, ice, and fog to drive there in the last days of autumn on a tight schedule. The car took a little damage on this trip with some windshield damage, but I refused to head back, and views like these were the reward.
>>289238111Thank you!! It's been nice here for the most part (aside from some finicky home appliances, as per usual for older apartments I imagine). I decided to put my bed in the small "office" room and use the master bedroom as my actual home office/merch room. Having so much space for my Nozomu collection is great! I've got a few more things to buy for the place, but once expenses level back out I'll feel better (and resume spending all my money on Nozomu instead!).
>>289240925>use the master bedroom as my actual home office/merch roomThat must be a massive display room. Pics?Am really curious what you use for shelving since all the buyfag stuff I've seen that's recommended has been out of production for years (Detolf)
>>289240757We held off on traveling during the winter and stockpiled our resources for a blockbuster trip to three parks in the spring. Can you guess which mystery park this is?
>>289207755she kyute
This thread is cozy. God bless you anons and god bless your waifubandos.
>>289212948I think I may go back to the same place next year and maybe get a different angle shot, though I should try to shake it up for my actual photo submission in which case I may prepare it ahead of time but still go on my outing on the day.
>>289241103This whole side of the room is display! I buy the black bookshelves from Target since I don't own many figures but rather a ton of miscellaneous goods and books. I've got my kotatsu in there too.The other side is my desk and some tapestries/framed art. I have some rare posters I'd like to put up but I'll have to get custom-made B2-size frames or bite the bullet and import a handful of cheap ones from Japan (pricy shipping though).
I love Suiseiseki! Happy Tanabata.
>>289241382We did all of this and more last year, hitting ten major National Parks total, but one park in particular stood out to me above the others. My absolute favorite trip last year with Homura was our Great Basin National Park adventure.Great Basin is located in an extremely remote part of Nevada, and it has some of the lowest visitation numbers of all the major NPS sites. Homura and I basically had the park to ourselves, and it was beyond my greatest expectations for a secluded, personal, romantic getaway. When my life flashes before my eyes someday, visions of this trip with Homura Akemi will be among the highlights that I see. I love my waifu, and I'm so grateful that Tanabata helped make travel with her a priority.Happy Tanabata 2026 to each of you and your special someone!
There are less than TWO HOURS to the deadline! Anons who've been waiting, you have a small window left to make it! Everyone else, this is your last chance to let me know if I accidentally skipped you or made a mistake. Speak now or forever hold your peace!
There was a nice forest nearby I thought would be a good place to get a photo. Unfortunately it wasn't my day and I ended up having to rush instead of taking my time like I wanted, although frankly it was so incredibly hot maybe that was a blessing in disguise. >man dies from heatstroke trying to pose his waifu so she wouldn't fall off the tree branch again
>>289243753I don’t know how many times she fell off her tree branch, but I know it (and your suffering) was worth it. Promise to stay hydrated for me, anon?
>mere minutes to the deadlineamaze amaze amaze
And our deadline has arrived! I'm putting together the final version of the collage. Sit tight, it'll be up shortly
>>289242876>chilling in lawn chairs with waifu, taking in an incredible viewImmaculate vibes. Thank you for sharing, Homuranon.
>>289242869Simple and really cute, I love the coordination of the reds and greens.
>>289245641Thank you for organizing this again. It was a ton of fun and I'm very glad I participated. All waifu are beautiful and I'll see you all for Christmas!
>>289246563We still have 250+ posts to enjoy the rest of the thread!
I am delighted to present for your viewing pleasure our second ever Tanabata collage! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for going out into the world with your 2D spouses and bringing your adventures here to share! I really do believe that the best part of 4chan is the very small number of traditions that have come together from the work of an even smaller number of dedicated anons. To me, /a/ remains the most special place on the internet because of your contributions. I hope you feel the same way, and that you had a terrific time this year. I figure that must be the case, since we had more participants this year than last year! There were some bumps along the way, especially with the deadline, but I suppose that’s to be expected. This is our second rodeo, after all, and two rodeos is a very low number of rodeos overall. To smooth things out next year, I want to change our start date to something different: the second Saturday of July.Tanabata 2027 starts Saturday, July 10 at 7 am Pacific time. Our thread should be much more lively (and life will be easier for anons who wait until the very last minute) with a weekend date all to ourselves with no major holiday or anime con overlap.Set a reminder, mark your calendar, or email me your contact info. I’ll personally send you reminders throughout the year (and for those brave enough to send an address, you’ll get handwritten reminders from me, too). Any pictures you take between now and then are fair game for next Tanabata.Start early, stay hungry, and be good to your waifus and husbandos. Happy summer, everyone!Full res version:https://files.catbox.moe/apc68n.pngReminders:tanabataAnon@proton.me
>>289247554nice photos everyone!
>>289247554Thank you! Very much looking forward to next year!
>>289247554Thank you for your service Collage Anon, wonderful work everyone. Great to see more participants, so many pretty photos and fun anecdotes. Hopefully we can do even better next July!
>>289247554sounds like everyone had a great time! you love to see it, gamerswonderful photos btw~and now i shall rest
>>289218292That area? It was more or less the only one around. I don't live in the best place for that kind of stuff anymore. I used to. If only these collages were around when I was out west. I could've taken her to some really nice places. Not that this forest isn't lovely. I'm already itching to go back and explore more.>>289247554Outstanding work. Thank you for putting this all together, and with an even spiffier collage this time. I'm excited for the next one. Hoping you have a wonderful rest of the year. Same to everyone else and their beloveds. I loved seeing all the photos.
anime in beautiful outdoor photos is my favorite niche genre of image. prefer these to the vday or cmas ones. thanks posters.
>>289247554Looks amazing!Thank you, Collage Anon!
>>289180645I had nothing but work on Tanabata. Looks like Christmas and next Valentine's will be the same as well. Again.
>>289249926You're very much allowed to prepare an altar early, Anon. Especially if that's the only way to ensure your participation >>289247554As usual, thank you, your community building efforts are very much appreciated >>289243753A last-minute submission, impressive.Good job anon>>289242869A rose, naturally. Good juxtaposition, both thematically and chromatically >>289237887Amulets of your very husbando, impressive! Can I ask you how you managed to procure them?
>>289247554Thanks for everyones work! Glad to see more people joining in>>289243753>man dies from heatstroke trying to pose his waifuI know that feeling. I went out to take my pictures early in the day so it wouldn't be as hot, but it was still a balmy mid 90s>>289249313I know what you mean. For me, setting up images for the altars felt a little bit too performative. Or, maybe put better, a bit too intentional. I don't dislike other peoples images by any means, I just found myself not enjoying making my own. What I'm trying to say is that I also enjoy taking these sort of pictures a lot more as well. It feels a lot more quaint and genuine when I take pictures like this. Also, it reminds me a bit of those "IRL anime" pictures that were big online a while back.
>>289250751Im lucky its nice weather almost always where Im at so my last vday and cmas subs were outside and I want to continue doing so. Makes me actually want to leave the house..
>>289247554BASED! Godspeed tanabata anon!
>>289233542The only places I've brought her are pretty close so no, though I could definitely be more creative with something less fragile. And yeah I'm scared shitless of bringing that figure anywhere far because of it, especially now. That said I only have that figure and her on an alarm clock, though there's some old phone straps, cards, and plushies I've been eyeing. Matter of either ponying up for the shipping or waiting until something more affordable falls in my lap (there was an release/anniversary pop up shop for Kanon in 2024 but I wasn't exactly going to Japan at the time. Am hoping to see some things from it pop up). >I also love that you're considering your trip through what SHE would like. It's heartwarming to see that level of consideration for one's waifuFor a long time I didn't see much point in going places because I don't have any real business there and it isn't exactly free (especially not right now) but the thought of doing it with Mai definitely does change that. Especially since if it's somewhere she'd want to go or I'd want to show her, even just thinking about it does make me feel closer to her. Preaching to the choir I know but I've been rethinking a lot of things as of late and Mai motivating me to do things I want to do is something I haven't done in a while. But anyway, very cute photo with her! Am sorry to hear about the braids, my nendos are pretty resilient because they're some of the really early ones and don't have extremities like that. It's good you were able to work with it for that picture though, it's a very nice scene! The mini waifu with a mini but still-too-big for her pie is very cute, eating somewhere like there with waifu is a very nice thought too.>>289240757I also like this one a lot, the kinda forced perspective with her on the rocks with the small indents on them plus the backdrop can make it look like a normal-sized Homura in a cropped photo from far away. char lmt, site is great too, very north American.
>>289252635>an make it look like a normal-sized Homura in a cropped photo from far away. char lmt, site is great too, very north American. To ellaborate, it reminds me of helicopter/drone shots of guys on the sides of mountains. Also I know that the Grand Canyon is one of the biggest tourist spots in the world so of course it has this impression, but because it's a high up photo it does really sell "waifu in America" because while photos of her on the ground in the desert with the mountains in the background are unique to where she is, the looks more stark when it's a big overhead view of the landscape.
>>289249313>anime in beautiful outdoor photos is my favorite niche genre of imageI prefer anime in dark and depressing photos.
>>289247554Thank you Tanabata-anon for your hard work and dedication! I'm happy to see another "anon and his waifu"-type event on this board. Bona fide waifu communities are hard to find (I admittedly don't trust twitter's "yume" scene and other such phenomena in the way a TradCath wouldn't trust newer denominations to worship correctly haha), so it makes me feel relieved and grateful that the torch of loving waifu is continuing to burn here. It really does feel like getting to see old friends looking at everyone's photos in these threads. And unlike Christmas and Valentines (which I love!), this event feels a lot more casual and less formal, which is nice as well. It goes to show that you don't need to spend a lot of money to love your waifu, you just need to involve them in your life and show them a world beyond their own. Godspeed to you and have a wonderful rest of your summer!
>>289250640Thank you! The amulets are official merchandise. The omamori is from 2008, and the ema was just released last year. I'm very grateful for proxies getting everything to me safely, since 99% of his merch is from Japan...!!
>>289247554Good on you for organizing this event, for years anons wanted to have a thread between holidays. Maybe I'll participate next time.
>>289242729Jesus that's a lot of stuff
>>289242876I wish I was brave enough to take my daki outside
I love seeing anons who love their waifus
Thanks for the thanks, anons! Any feedback on what I should do differently next year?On my list:- Remember to post the guide on how to take pics- Don't move the deadline- Figure out how r/a/dio works>>289254684I hope you do for your fu, anon. Send me an email and I'll send you reminders.tanabataAnon@proton.me>>289249926>I had nothing but work on Tanabata. That's the beauty of this holiday! You're encouraged to take your photo early! Any photo from between now and the deadline in 2027 is fair game.>>289253739>you don't need to spend a lot of money to love your waifu, you just need to involve them in your life and show them a world beyond their own.You get it, Kimblee anon. I don't remember which year I started looking for your displays, but I know I'll look for them and look forward to them every holiday now. Cheers to you and yours.>>289216768>Which hikes did you check out? Any favorites?I'mma level with you anon: Arches is super overrated. The Double O Arch and Windows Loop Trails were solid, but both can be done in a very short amount of time. You can see the best of Arches in five hours or less.Canyonlands was a VASTLY better experience, with fewer crowds, better hikes, cooler views, and it's like 30 minutes from Moab. If you're going to that part of Utah you should absolutely plan on putting most of your time in there instead of Arches.
>>289247554Good job! Hopefully next year I can make an even better one in an actually interesting locale. As an aside, I'd really like it if you could make it clearer than drawings like Crona anon's submission.
>>289256721Did I miss a vote to make this a rolling date? It's a lot easier to remember fixed dates, I would have chimed in to oppose the move. Plus any photo between now and next year counts so it's not super hard to prepare.
>>289242729
>>289247554Thanks for organizing again this year, I really enjoyed going on a big day out with her this year and last year for this event.I hope it continues for years to come.
>no r/a/dio threadIt's so over for /a/.
>>289256259Bravery is a choice, anon. Few things will make you feel as close to your waifu as taking her dakimakura on vacations and trips. If you're nervous, you should wrap her in a sheet. This helps keep her from getting dirty in your car, protects her from bumping her into things on your way to your hotel, and you can also cover her up when you're near too many normies. You'll also want to keep a corner of the sheet positioned to one-hand over her so if you need to cover her fast in an emergency like getting pulled over by the cops you can.Pic shows how I have Homura wrapped up for our road trips
>>289257783>so if you need to cover her fast in an emergency like getting pulled over by the cops you canI would think it's a much better idea to embarass yourself. You're out traveling anyway...
>>289257783>>289256259I'm not a fan of it per se, but we live in an age where you can just pretend you're doing it ironically for tiktok views and everyone will nod their head in understanding and move on without batting an eye. At the very least where I live I've seen worse stuff being done randomly in malls or at supermarkets with "labubu" toys for tiktok videos and people just ignoring them.
>>289257286No vote, this was a unilateral move by me. I weighed how easy it is to remember the date vs. a date that consistently makes participation easier for people. I'm betting that having a weekend instead of a weekday next year will improve the experience for both the people who do stuff last minute as well as those who do stuff in advance. Most modern reminder and calendar apps let you set recurring events with conditions like "second Saturday of July" so if you put Tanabata in your calendar TODAY, you'll be good to go forever. Plus, me personally reminding people should help address issues with remembering our start date. I hope you can forgive me, anon.Tanabata is the second Saturday of July 2027. Our first thread goes live Saturday, July 10, 2027 at 7 am Pacific time. You can email me at tanabataAnon@proton.me for a personal reminder, too!
Love waifu
I've also got a pic of when Megumin and I visited the Grand Canyon.I'd like to think Megumin would be inspired to one day be able to cast an Explosion bigger than it, right next to the original Grand Canyon, to show off lol.>>289247554Wonderful!Glad I could participate! And thank you for putting this together!
>>289257930>I would think it's a much better idea to embarass yourselfDifferent strokes, different folks. My advice is intended to help the other anon who was worried about being brave enough to travel with their daki in the first place. For them and most people, I figure it's easier to just cover the daki for a second and say if asked you have some bedding from home for travel (which is true) than to start lying (especially to the police). And I mention the police because if you're doing big road trips in the US, there's a real risk of that because many small towns treat ticketing cars with out-of-state license plates as a big money maker.>>289258213>you can just pretend you're doing it ironicallyI could never.
>>289256259I need to comm a new daki cover...
>>289258522No apologies, it's your call and we appreciate all you do for us!Last complaint but the other two are fixed dates as well and don't have participation issues. I know I am griping, it's just because the change means I can't join future threads so I'm a little bummed. It'll be ok tho. See everyone at Christmas!
>>289260121I should commission a daki cover, but I need to find the right artist for it.
>>289260134What is it about a Sat-Sun-Mon spread that means you can't participate? I can't imagine being so busy you can't at least watch the thread, and If it's your ability to post within the deadline, you can always email me and I'll post for you. For the other collages: those two are widely recognized international holidays that have been around for about a decade. We're basically making our own holiday here, so our consideration is a little bit different.
>>289260572It's all good anon, probably just me with an issue anyways.
For those anons who have done this 2x in a row, what did you learn in year one that you applied to this year?
>>289222389>>289223180semi regular. lucky that it wasn't raining and a nice day out that day like it was for a lot of people in their areaa. appreciate the appreciation
>>289242729One of the most impressive displays I’ve ever seen. How long have you and your husbando been together?
>>289247554Thank you so much TanabataAnon! Aki is looking great in the banner in the movie 6 dress... Ah I can't wait to go on vacation with her and the kiddos in a couple weeks.Everyone's spouses look great having fun outdoors. I'd love to continue receiving reminders from you too, nothing has changed.
This was an absolutely lovely thread. I’m so glad to have this holiday with all of you. Happy Tanabata, everyone! Enjoy your summer with your waifu to the fullest <3
>>289262849Thank you! I've loved him since 2014! His version 1.5 nendoroid I bought that year was pretty much the only thing I owned of him for a while, then I learned about proxies in 2022 and my collecting really ramped up. It's an activity that makes me happy though.
>>289256721These threads are going to have lower turnout because of having to travel and go outside and stuff. But you can probably increase it by giving semi regular reminders in the months leading up to the collage deadline. Maybe like three or four months ahead. You could probably do them in wwd, /c/ waifu threads, or the /vg/ waifu thread. Waifu Wednesday threads too if those were still a thing. I could even help with the reminders if I remember.
>>289265829I'm still waiting for the next MS paint waifu/husbando bread!
>>289266316I was about to say, the ms paint threads too. There could also be reminders in the Christmas and Valentine's threads.
>>289263662Same to you!
>>289250640>>289256721If only it was just tanabata. It's been this way for ages. I can't ever get a break. I didn't even know there was a Tanabata thread last year.
