Jaadugar, Sayonara Lara, World is Dancing, Chainsmoker Cat, and maybe Grow Up Show if it keeps up. Some of these are pretty varied and generally good in what they're doing with their animation too which is nice. The new KyoAni might be good too but I need to see more of it, ep1 didn't convince me fully but I think it's adaptation pacing issues that'll hopefully get smoothed out. Also Ghost in the Shell is airing now; I haven't seen it yet but I feel it has enough of a pedigree to mention it and I doubt they'll fuck it up. There's a couple more shows I'll have to check that might fit too.

Did I miss the dedicated Chainsmoker Cat thread? I'm amazed that no one seems to mention the resemblance to Welcome to the NHK. Is it because Gen Z is not yet familiar with Welcome to the NHK? I'm also kind of sad that lots of normies and redditors look at the show in a superficial way rather than recognizing that the show tries to address the very real and serious problem of self-neglect like that scene where she gets overwhelmed with everything she needs to do to clean up her mess which is so stressful that she seeks immediate relief in her addiction.

I'm watching Jaadugar, Mushoku Tensei Season 3, and Yaki Neko. Idk if I'll keep watching Bookworm Season 4 because I binged the whole light novel last month and the show is a watered down version.

But we have everything from isekai fun (Hell Mode) to Villainous revenge (Buchigire Reijou) to Chainsmoker Catgirls to Mushoku Tensei to decent seasonal romcom.

Even at ~30 series that's really only 1.5 hours a day.

I don't think they're that similar outside of the fact the main character is a fuckup failure. Yanineko has friends, satou didn't until yamazaki moved in and misaki made him sign the contract. Also NHK is based more in reality and the characters feel much more real and relatable, Chainsmoker cat is much more fantastical with (so far) characters being more straight forward.

I find Sato and the neko to have different personalities, and that changes how everything is presented. One is a depressed hiki while the other is an archetypal addict. They have plenty of similarities but I think that distinction defines their key difference. They're both dark comedies but they still feel different to me.
Bare in mind it's been a long time since I watched NHK so I might've forgotten a lot of the comedy, and there's only been one episode of Yani Neko so it's pointless for me to be making any judgements about anything.

Don't recommend that to anyone. 20~ is fine and has been my average for about ten years. Now I'm down to 14 and that works really well for me.
