Removed from Castletown and hidden because kid Link told the royals Ganondorf knew about all that shit. Hyrule itself? Fallen into decay, cowardice, and complacency because in the child timeline disaster was averted. It all checks out to me.

The Goddesses turning the Zora into the Rito was solely to prevent the kind of mega-empire you were speculating about/keep them from dredging up the history of the old kingdom that started the flood in the first place.

Just finished the last temple of OoT and damn man it is impressive how much the game tries to hook link up being it Saria, Malon, Ruto, Zelda and now the gerudo girl, hope the remake add some dating sim mechanics to it
