I want to like this show and am giving it a chance because she's cute, but damn I am extremely let down by how dogshit the kaiju form looksIt looks like a plastic toy manIt wasnt even on screen for that long, they had an opportunity to make something really special by 2d animating it and making it look cool as fuck. Instead it looks like a joke and just like every other mid-low budget anime ever made. The core premise of your show is not where you should cheap out. I think, honestly, that it isn't even about budget, cause the rest of the show looks pretty nice. I think it's that they're not confident they can make a 2d kaiju look good. Idk what the history of the studio is, but it would make sense for most modern day animators or studios to only have experience with drawing human characters. Perhaps kaijus and things that are "special" require some level of expertise that doesn't exist in this studio and is rare in the industry at large. Imagine if Kyoani went with 3d cgi for their dragon forms in dragon maid. It would look dogshit. You cant compare most studios to one of the crown jewels of the industry, but the best studios are there for others to take example from. I'm not mad, I'm just dissapointed. I liked everything else in the first episode, especially the femc herself. Im going to continue to watch, but I am let down by the show
