>MOGGED
>>289263035Yep, new show is shit.
The film from 1995 was for adults. The new anime is for 10yo children. Simple as that.
You're telling me a tv anime looks worse than a movie? Woah...
>they both look fineOP is a faggot
So what third-word country the new GITS anime triggered?
>>2892631573 fucking DECADES to git gud and they didn'tPATHETIC
>>289263157An argument can be made that you don't need movie budget to have proper lighting, anatomy, and shot composition.
>>289263373everything you just listed doesn't happen without budget dumbass
>>289263373Is 4chan just rehashing xitter posts now? Was 70 updoots not enough and now you want (you)s?
>>289263418>Drawing skills somehow depend on budget. I have 140 IQ.
>>289263035background of the shot where she fades out is the only really egregious thing
>>289263035>cel is better than digitalshocking
>>289263373>he thinks his fancy movie underlighting didn't take a fuckton more time for inbetweener-kun to draw compared to the standard tv lighting tourist-kun, i....
>>289263060It's what I expected, I'm liking it but mostly as a jogger for what I have vague memories in the manga. It sticking closely to the manga was a point of concern to me as it was always the weakest of all the iterations I've seen/read so far(except for the live action attempt). The reality of it is that the true geniuses behind the franchise have always been Oshii and Kamiyama.
>>289263035Soul vs soulless
>>289263792The 95 film is just a dumbed down version of the manga.
>>289263035Movie is grey and nobody smiles.
>>289263482They're almost entirely reliant on budget. There is no such thing as a cheap anime that looks good.
>>289263602That entire scene is covered in CGI
>>289263846It removed most of the cartoonish goofyness and tied together multiple arcs into a single story rather well. Hardly dumbed down.
>>289263915It removes the entire point of the Puppeteer's scheme, and the spiritual aspects of technology are reduced to just, "technology replacing humanity", which is contrary to the comic.
>>289263857and that's a good thing.
>comparing a movie to a seasonal TV anime
>>289263035Jesus Christ, panning is the lost technique now? Or the idea was to turn anime into animated panels? This looks static as hell
>>289264038Anon, the issue here not with the budget or animation but with jarring direction, the scene isn't smooth
>>2892630351995 will never be topped so...
>>289263747>both look greatthese people are blind, also kys for posting shitter screencaps
>>289263035'95 looks way too beautiful
>>289263035modern animators are so creatively bankrupt in utilization of layouts despite all the advancements with the CGI and dynamic camera that it is just sad. Even worse is how the anime fans who are eating this up with muh 90s lineart aesthetic when it's just display of limited skillet with filters doing the job.
>>289263035I saw this shit on xitter, you're not baiting anybody here, fuck off
>>289263373who watches anime for proper anatomy? what a stupid claim to make
>>289264487>Standard interior scene in 1987
>>289264766the jap they all sound like teenagers, and in the dub they all sound like teenagers.the fuck happened.
>>289264487>>289264774>40 years later...
>>289264774>It's ALWAYS some retard who doesn't understand the difference between OVA and TV budgets
>>289264774>Bunch of static nonsense scribbles.>>289264803>Dynamic practical sets and lighting. What's your point exactly?
>>289264849>Acts like Science SARU was Madhouse or Toei to display superiorityYou are not fooling anybody.
>>289264803what was the point of the open jaw? was she VR fellating BBC in her downtime?
>>289264871To display your fucking monkey IQ. And it worked beyond hope.
>>289264989Safety feature. If she malfunctions and shuts down, you do not want her mouth to default to shut closed.
>>289264774There is almost no animation here.
>>289264803This is far more complex and interesting. Why the fuck would you compare slow pans >>289264774 to an actually well animated scene?
>>289263035Why even make a new one if you're just going to reuse the material from the original?
>>289263747>it looked greatIt's a power point presentation.
>>289266736Because the one doing the slow panning is eye candy while the other looks like cheap slop you can find anywhere.
>>289264774>>289265025This is embarrassing anon, even Otaking no longer showing retardation like what you're doing anymore.
>>289266912It isn't eye candy at all.
>>289266912>cheap slop you can find anywherepost 10.
>>289263915it literally ended up on a >to be continued (get fucked lmao)
>>289264512>you're not baiting anybody here'erybody's getting baited
>>289263857The future supposed to be bleak and full of unhappiness. That's the reason why GITS 95 was interesting and unique. Oshii work is just absolutely amazing.
>>289267268>A bleak and unhappy future is unique>Imagining this would be unique in 1995
Apprently during early production of SAC, they actually considered drawing Motoko in her classic manga style
>>289263060Shit can be useful as fertilizer, this is worse than shit.
>>289263964>the entire point of the Puppeteer's schemeIs that they want to fuck an adapter just like the prequel robot
>>289263035Imagine watching nu-anime
>>289263964it doesn't amd you're a moron that can't pay attention to consecutive lines of dialogue all at once for thinking it does
>>289267529A shame they didn't went with it. It would've killed all the retards who think Motoko needs to be an emotionless robot.
>>289263035I'm mostly okay with it. There's some nitpicks that are mostly personal preference.Only thing I take issue with is showing the walls are digital at the start. The coolest part of the movie's opening scene was when the "fish tank" exploded.
>>289263035> why does a TV anime have lesser animation quality than a big budget anime movie??Not to mention they're both going for entirely different aesthetics/tones.
>>289267268It hits too close to home in 2026 though.,
>>289264989I assume her whole body is just sitting there slack until someone activates her. Not really much point in keeping her looking nice and 'normal' when no ones there to see/talk to her.
>>289268249My attitude about cyberpunk completely changed when I realized the grim dystopia the authors were writing about wasn't a prediction. They were describing the world as it already was.
>>289263035I like the old school style but the pacing was schizophrenic dogshit
>>289268868Pacing was perfect.
>>289268868it's a 90s movie80s movies were worseespecially live actiongo watch Jin-Roh and then Kerberos Panzer Copsyou'll be wishing everything had the tight pacing of animation
>>289263035>that little hand wipe cloaking her face is in the layoutActual genius shit.
>>289264774SOVL>>289264803Lame B-tier scene that I will have forgotten in 20 minutes
OLD GOODNEW BAD
>>289267784You're a pissant. I got kinda mojor Lupin the 3rd vibes from this thing. I didn't even know it was coming down the pipe, didn't know what to expect. It threw me for a loop, but it wasn't shit.Thing I don't get is why Togusa was there. I was under the impression that he was a fairly new join to Section 13, unmodded, all that, since I basically grew up with SAC.
>>289269051*major
Jannies...
>>289269032We can also discuss composition, artistic direction, character designs, lightning or framing, if you are interested. But I suspect that you are just a seething normgroid hurt by different opinions.
>>289269158And I suspect your opinion on all of them will be>the old one is better because it's old>I only like realistic shit and anything actually stylized is bad
>>289269158Lighting and art direction is stronger in the new version.
>>289269158You're a nigger who will said:>top is better because it has "SOVL".
>>289269227>Lighting and art direction is stronger in the new versionNo.
>>289269342Its not pallid and lifeless.
>>289269227>Believes that lens flares are good lighting>>289269274Both scenes are mediocre for different reasons. Only a fucking tourist would be impressed by the new version. It's artistic horseshit, and this "clever" comparison simply proves that your tastes are awful. Fuck off.
>>289263035I dont get why this is making so many people upset. 95 obviously looks way better, not something to be ashamed of though
>>289269498>believes that using cold tones is mature
>>289269556Cattle niggers are upset that the things that they adore from their childhood is turn out to be inferior compared to the modern product.
>>289263373you need a movie budget to have more time to take care on details yes. What is this sudden pajeet posting logic? When did /a/ of all place got filled with drooling retards with no knowledge on the matter like that? we aren't getting grok peasants take over animation technical discussion thanks.
>>289264487Unironically gigakino
>>289263035Characters on the left look too goofy. Like some generic pokemon crap.
>>289269637A lot of people come from the video game world where there is a world of difference between what devs could do in the 90s and today. But for animation, the difference is far less substantial and they don't realize that. It's still fundamentally a very similar production cycle. Even more so regarding GITS 95, as that was an early adopter of various CGI and digital coloring and compositing methods. Shit, a large amount of modern anime is still hand drawn on paper in many cases.
>>289269674They're drawn in a style that existed in anime a decade before PokemonMaybe two decades, I disremember
