The commitment to its food theme is the thing that gives the show its stakes, it may be mundane to us, but to the cast living in a culinary hub, it matters a lot.Yui is kinda meh as a lead Cure, not bad, but static. Ran is fine, typical eccentric Cure fare. Amane is good assuming you actually understand her arc is about being pissed at Narcistoru for turning her into Gentle and trying to deal with that healthily since she's otherwise the one with her shit actually together. Kokone and Rosemary are major standouts, the former having some of the best handled development in the franchise and a phenomenal track record as a shield Cure, the latter being a generally great mentor figure/exposition fairy/supporting character while also being highly entertaining. Takumi is fine but absent a bit too often to make his full impact.Villains are okay, they have their charm, they're all motivated by petty things, and are mainly held back by just going one at a time. Far from the worst the franchise has to offer, especially compared to the season right after it.Also, top tier milf game.
