"Muh cycle of hatred" is one of the gayest and most insufferable concepts that I've seen in any anime. It's literally just something a childish and immature series uses to try and sound deeper and more philosophical than it actual is, when in reality the reasons people do "bad" things are far more complex. Both Naruto and FMA are perfect examples of how dogshit this trope is.
