Refusal to communicate (or even acknowledge) his feelings leading to a relapse into the old habits, rationalized in a roundabout way. Demons automatically rank themselves based on mana and self-organize accordingly. It is implicitly understood that you do what a stronger demon says, because if you disobey they can and will kill you. Demons that want to co-exist with humans simply extend that framework to humans. They treat humans EXACTLY as well as they would treat other demons in the same situation. This is the definition of racial equality and fairness. It also means, given that basically every human alive has weak mana compared to demons, we should all shut up and do what we are told because otherwise they will kill us. Because thats EXACTLY what they would do for a demon in the same situation. The only difference is that the demons automatically recognize the difference in mana and their place in the hierarchy, while humans don't naturally sense mana without training and keep getting uppity like we deserve some kind of special treatment. Because, from the demons POV, thats what humans are asking for: not to be treated as well as demons treat each other, but to be treated by demons BETTER than demons treat each other. Which is an obvious non-starter.
