As someone who read the LNs relevant to this season I can see why some anons were upset about season 1 and 2. Even though 13 was a simple sol volume seeing it get watered down and chopped up first hand is kinda jarring. It’s not an issue for an anime only and I’m not ultimately disappointed but you don’t realize sorta how much is being left on the table. This is a series that would massively benefit from having 45m-1hr episodes like JL:TAS had or any miniseries on a streaming service for that matter. Feels like the only thing holding it back is how it’s built for TV, being both compressed and censored.

For example, during the awkward breakfast scene, he reflects on how it's awkward and hopes they'll get along more naturally in the future. He even expresses some doubt that things will work out and realizes they'll all need to put in effort towards making it work. That's missing from the anime version, so it just seems like an awkward scene included for no reason. I hope this doesn't become a trend, the SoL sections would be pretty bad without it.

Animation is like that, there are a lot of tricks and you need to diversify them to actually be good. Just being fluid isn't enough. You need to take into account scene readability, shot composition, pacing, use of color, etc.
