Why is it so rare for anime to have main protagonists that are 3 or 4 years old? At youngest they're around 9-12.
>I don't know about it so it doesn't existthings exist outside your perception, this is ironically something you should've learned as a baby/toddlerit's not rare at all, look up kodomo
>>289351602Kodomo no Jikan characters are 3rd graders, so around 8-9
>>289351322When I see protags that age I just know I'm in for a good time. Fucking Kaya...
>>289352093Kaya is so beautiful...
>>289353263Sexy even.
>>289351322Hakase is 8Renge is like 7I think Tsumugi Inuzuka is 4 or somethingI guess the reason it's rare is because the target demographic for shounen shit is just teenagersPlus it's probably not easy to write a narrative when the character is some little kid because they don't have that much agency and are quite naive. I think this leaves the writer constrained, at most you can either portray that innocence with some admiration and try to see the world through their eyes, like in Ryuushika Ryuushika, or just do some sadistic thing in which the kid the completely fails to deal with a world too complex and cruel for them to comprehend (see Takopi, which for all intents and purposes is like a magical kindergartner)
>>2893551437-8 is a lot older than 3 though
>>289356239both 7 and 8 are outside the regions op outlined. 4 counts. but thats beside the point, i dont think theyre common, i just tried giving it an explanation
Hanamaru Youchien was pretty good.
>>289351322peppa pig is right there >>>/co/
>>289352066kodomo as in the anime genre targeted at kodomo (children)
>>289356544Even then the protagonists are usually older children that the kodomo tachis can look up to.
