So my guess is that the endgame is going to be either stealing a enemy's card or getting it given to them and deposit all the money in their account, and keep the card so no one from the enemy team can withdraw it.
>>
>cheating with cards and atms
Now this is what Kaiji would do.

Let me guess.
Akiyama is going to break his card, disguise himself as someone from the enemy team, demand a new one to get that persons card and is then going withdraw all the money and deposit it on the enemies ATM.

I accidentally downloaded episode 12 because some group uploaded it today, and I only bring it up because the first opening started playing to further underline how shit the new opening is by comparison. It's pretty much just all still frames, nothing interesting going on.

it is in nao's team's accounts. However, because they'll probably fail to smuggle it all, Yokoya's team will get it back after the end of the game.

they more or less doubled the amount of money they are required to smuggle, if they can pull it off then it could work out for them (30 rounds left, 100m per briefcase, 3b possible with no doubts (lol))
>>
>>289358149
You're right, they're retarded. But this trick has the immediate personal gain going for it. And also the fact it could theoretically benefit you if you were the only one to pull it off, wouldn't it? So unlike the first game I think these absolute buffoons fumbling is good here

I went from being pissed at Nao in Game 1 to wanting to protect her at all costs
>>
>>289362328
They have that cash in their ATM (that is in the enemy country) and absolutely NEED to smuggle as much of it as possible, because unless smuggled it goes back to the other team distributed evenly.

Except from this point on the other team can just call doubt 100 millions every single time so you'd only be able to retrieve 50 millions per trip, and you'd still lose by a long shot at the end of the game.

Basically, think about it this way: the money you can retrieve from your ATM (located in enemy team's country) gives you a sense of safety ("I have 600 millions, I can try to smuggle many times and I might be able to get away with a lot in my neutral country account!") but it's fake safety: this is DEAD money that you lose unless smuggled, and if you have too much of it you wont be able to smuggle.
>>
>>289363243
At this point they actually have 0 reason not to withdraw everything, always carry empty, and try to get an ally on the other side or steal a card, right?

Not sure if it was a translation thing but I can't figure out if this thing is actually a guy a girl or a tranny or cross dresser or what? It had some sort of line about passing or something in the first reveal but other than having a shaved head it looks like a girl. I thought it was just a girl larping as a guy but now I'm not sure. Also this thing is such a scumbag I can't believe they keep dragging it along giving it more chances to screw everyone. I'm sure it will have some gay redemption arc but really I'm just tired of looking at it. But to be fair it's the only character with personality so without it things would be even more boring.
To be honest I'm not really getting the hype for the show in general. I thought it was supposed to be some legendary game of wits story like Kaiji but it doesn't give me even half of the excitement that one did so far at least. The games feel too basic and just rely on obvious tells and someone coming from the shadows to do something you really shouldn't even be able to do like the con guy just coming in a window and claiming that she was his possession. It's ridiculous that they would allow that.

Except there isn't even that much risk for the losers. In Kaiji there was immediate physical threat during the game and after. Here the people running it don't even appear that threatening and all they do is go in a bit of debt. And there's nothing like the tightrope walk where the game itself is a threat.
It's still entertaining but I guess I had just went into it with too high expectations. The only interesting hook was the honest girl but she's still just a pawn of the blonde guy so it's not very entertaining to watch her struggle either. I hope things shake up in some way soon.

You're really diminishing how stressful and life changing it can be to suddenly be 1 million dollars in debt, especially when you have people depending on you. Maybe it's because the debt amount is in yen, so your brain can't comprehend how much money is really at stake whenever they fuck up.

>>
>>289365891
>>289365975
the weirdest part about all of this is, and something I'm sure the author forgot about, is that ALL participants, no matter how retarded they are, won in the preliminaries first round.(and the money they won during that round is also forgotten by the author)
>>
>>289365975
That's a different issue, but a very fair point. For this narrative, the side character's backgrounds don't seem to be that important because you aren't meant to sympathize with them outside of them fucking up in the middle of the games. They are just participants that instigate conflict and chaos via incompetence.
>I don't know a single thing about any of these characters aside from the main two

>>
>>289366086
What's the point that you're trying to make here? If the other participants had a similar 1st round to Nao, then it's a pretty simple thing to win if you get a convenient person to fool. Nao pretty much lost immediately to her teacher who wasn't exactly super smart. Also it was possible to win without getting all of the money from the opponent, so they could win the 1st round and still have enough incentive to make more money in the next round. Or get fooled by a game official into going to the next round. Round 2 put all of the losers in the red, so they had no choice to keep playing

fucking retard, getting money across the border is a surefire way to have secure money, unlike having your money in your opponents ATM in your own country, which they can try to steal from.
Here genius, try this:
Let's say you take 300 from yokoya. Then for 3 turns you can smuggle 100 without ANY downside at all. Best case scenario, you get a secure 100, worst case scenario, Yokoya takes his 100 back. It only becomes a problem if you have so much money in your teams account that you can't smuggle it back during the amount of times left in the game(assuming there is no trust worthy traitor making it easier for you)
>>
>>289354296

>>
>>289366411
>Let's say you take 300 from yokoya
You can say that, but it's not what happened. He took 300 from you, and you deposited it into his account.
>>
>>289366224
the point I was making is that all of them, somehow, managed to steal at least 1 yen from someone else. Can you really imagine anyone from our current group being able to do that? Nao was only able to do that because of Akiyama, but no one else has any smart partners.
>Round 2 put all of the losers in the red
I still don't quite understand that. I tried to look it up online, but none of it explained all the rules in regards to the money(and am too busy to look it up in the anime episodes). Because from what I understand, there shouldn't be any debt to anyone. If you enter the second round, you get a diamond worth 100mil free of charge, but you have to pay it back if you lose. Meaning, nothing gained nothing lost, only the winner gets all the money as a gift by the organization(guaranteed half of it, all of it if he continues in the game). Did I miss something here?
>>
>>289366504
>He took 300 from you
no he didn't. He took his own 300 and gave it to his opponents willingly. Then they did the same for all the teammates(of course the order doesn't matter)
He gets "some" of it back at the end of the game due to the day country not being able to smuggle all of it back in the rounds left
>>
>>289366520
So at least 3 Nigerian princes, yeah?
>>
>>289366546
>anon too stupid to understand an anime he just watched
I guess reading subtitles is too much for you?

Tell me Mr "lol you get scammed by Nigerian prince scams", how did they get the money from the day country guys without their ATM cards?
Here, let me tell you what happened in the episode:
Dumb day country guy walks into the inspection room
Jesus tells him "There is 300mil from Yokoya, take it to get revenge for me"
Dumb guy gets into the ATM room, sees 300mil just waiting there, and puts the money into his own account.
So where in the hell does "He took 300 from you" happen?
>>
>>289366520
I might not be clear on this, but it seems there are either 4 or 16? possible positions for the smuggling money: Day country's bank, Night Country's bank, Day''s offshore account, Night's offshore account, and maybe individual player's bank (since I'm unclear where direct rewards for catching smugglers or doubting wrong go) considering if everyone was sharing the losses, nobody would care as much about getting caught over a drop in the bucket there must be some personal penalty/bonus involved
>>
Typing this out just to keep things straight in my head:

>each team goes to the enemy country's ATM in enemy territory to withdraw from their own accounts, and smuggle it to "Switzerland"
>at the end of the game, each team will take the money in their own ATM that's in the enemy team's account
>so they want to maximize the money in Switzerland and their own ATM (enemy account), and minimize the money in the enemy team's ATM (own account)
>Yokoya's team zero'd their accounts in Akiyama's ATM, which Akiyama's team deposited in their own accounts in Yokoya's ATM
>from now on, Yokoya's team will be smuggling nothing through inspection because there is nothing left to smuggle
>Akiyama's ATM has 4.2 billion in it, which to smuggle through inspection needs at least 42 rounds because of the suit case's limit (but there's only like 32 rounds left)

>the scoreboard (Switzerland accounts) shows Akiyama winning the game, which is something neither team wants
>the only game mechanic that moves money OUT of Switzerland is security taken from the inspector (half their guess) if they guess wrong
>for Akiyama's team to lose on the scoreboard, they have to guess wrong
>Yokoya's team need only to not guess to maintain the scoreboard status
>>
>>289352896
>>289352560
>>
>>289366593
Day team's ATM cards withdraw from an account in Night. Night team's cards withdraw from an account in Day. That's why they need to smuggle it.
Night team withdrew from Day using their own ATM cards, left it in the room, and your dumb ass deposited it into the Night account for them. Now you can try to smuggle it back to Day, but you need to smuggle all 300 back just to break even.

>basic
The games have more complex interactions than the majority of Kaiji games by design. The only Kaiji game that can compare is minefield mahjong from part 3.

It's praised because it goes deep into these layers. This game has like 4 or 5 layers of keikaku on its own, and it's not even my favorite. Also because it lays some interesting motifs, current game doesn't just have "southern and northern country" as part of some aesthetic, it also touches on dictatorship, trust and control.

Basically what I'm saying is this has different strengths than Kaiji. If you want game of prisoner, Kaiji part 4 is where you get the visceral, in depth psychological reaction of characters that feel like very real human being, but Liar Game is where you'll have a variety of setups, incentives and ideas explored. In general, Kaiji has the gripping introspections and psychology, Liar Game has the mechanics and scale that let big things unfold.

YOU might win on this exchange if you can make your Switzerland account, say, 500 millions instead of 200 thanks to the added 300 millions you managed to smuggle, but these 300 millions you took are deduced from your team's final payoff. The burden's put on your team.

Let's say Nao smuggles 100 millions, it goes into oversea account which goes from the initial 100 millions to 200
Then she calls doubt 100 millions, guy wasn't carrying anything, so she pays 50 and her account has 150 now

even as I scream 'iku iku iku' and cum on her legs under the table?

the Day team get all the money that is left over in the atms on their side
However, the trio deposited the money into the Night ATM because they only have accounts on that one. (Funnily enough the true smuggling happens in the opposite direction to game smuggling)

The trio indeed don't stand to profit yet. Their second step was to smuggle it back into their Swiss accounts.

Money from inspection is deducted from the offshore accounts, not the ATM. Night country has 1.2B offshore and any successful interception they do increases their doubting funds. I guess they can wait until night country blow through all that money (12 turns) but I'm pretty sure the math says they still lose monetarily.

good point I assume Yokoya enjoys this opportunity.
Perhaps Yokoya was just too tempted by the idea of the enemy team rejoicing at winning and then despairing when the totals appeared

Nao doesn't understand what semen is
>>
>>289369174
It'd take 24 turns to blow it all since they're going to call doubt 100 on each turn and lose 50 millions per turn
>>
>>289369209
Oh right only half gets taken. Yeah, they're super fucked lmao.
>>
>>289368166
I assume they're gonna bribe Yokoya next episode since he wants the money, doesn't care about the rest of his team, and ideally wants to win

The next trick is simple but 500 IQ, I had forgotten about it but now I remember it was one of my favorite

I'm angry at Kaitani. Where's MY Nao peeing chapter?
>>
>>289369345
>sits while peeing
And /a/ wants to tell me that this is a man

Yeah that's normal in civilized countries.

not only that, calling doubt and losing has them pay out from a personal 100m security fund each player has. so each player could only doubt 100m once, then 50m once. then 25m and so on
>>
>>289369659
They want to be calling doubt 100 millions for each turn now though. But they have a decent amount in Swiss account iirc, like 1.2 billions. They can do it.

people don't know this yet, the previous revival round could have been a one-time thing

I got like halfway through the first episode and couldn't bear to watch her inevitably get tricked or deceived by someone she trusted

I think it's probably not a series for me.

but it takes a while.

it gets easier after the Nth time, when you realize she's cartoonishly retarded and you shouldn't take anything that happens seriously
