chapter today
>>289480342god I hope so
>>289480689Here's Tong Li's description:>Loid collapses from exhaustion after the SSS party incident and is admitted to the hospital where he works. Fiona, acting as his substitute, is preparing to go to the doctors' academic conference to gather intelligence, but discovers that the number one target, Desmond, is planning to enter the hospital! It really is a Fiona arc.
>>289481122>Fiona arcFuck
>>289481336wish she met Yuri but i guess Axeman dont want this to happen
>>289481336>>289481356she will be fine, despite the death flags
>>289481122Buddy that was LAST chapter
>>289481503Tong Li's descriptions have always been about the last chapter, I don't know why that anon keeps posting them as if they mean anything
>>289481503No, that's Tong Li's teaser for this chapter. It's pretty common for them to tell you almost nothing, especially during arcs.
Dumpanon here, will dump chapter here as soon as possible.

>>289481523>Tong Li's descriptions have always been about the last chapterThis wasn't even true for last chapter. That teaser was>Loid, who had narrowly escaped death at the SSS party, returned home exhausted and collapsed. However, he had an important mission at the hospital, so...We didn't know about the important mission at the hospital until the teaser. There was no indication of it in the previous chapter.

>>289482604
>>289482604Holy shit we are actually getting an active Anya on a mission arc, it's all I ever wanted
>>289482679Um wasn't this a spread
>>289482702I'll stitch it when he's finished dumping
>>289482679End of the chapter. I hope you enjoyed it. All chapters can be found here https://mega.nz/folder/xxMBgC6A#P2VM5Gfn-4wyyLmdR8k_RwThis one I'll upload little later today. Until next time and stay safe, buddies.P.S. Last two pages looked like a spread, but after making one I noticed some problems, but I'll upload it anyway with next post.
>>289482764Look at their shoulders.
>>289481627>suspect eyesdid he clock her?
>>289481596>Anya missed her periodoh no
>>289482764>>289482794westalis' best spy everyone
>>289482764Loid's ulcer has given him a sense for when Anya's up to bullshit

>>289483461Dont forget that Iruma revealed his humanity
>>289482794My theory for some time now is that desmond is a mindreader, but not as good as anya, and he probably had his mindreading skills form the secret project where anya and here mom where kept. He probably can tell people are lying to him, but he cant straight up read the toughts they have, so for example when twilight was talking to him he knew he was full of bullshit but he didnt know if he was a spy or some dude trying to kiss his ass. Same with fiona in this chapter, he knows she is up to something, but he cant tell what.
>>289483126Probably. Not like there's much to talk about here since Anya was barely even in it until the ending.
>>289483514who?
>>289482604Our hero...has stubby legs...
>>289482604>gets cocky>instantly eats shitLol.
>>289481596>She's visiting her dad, what's so wrong about that? Early Non-Tsun Damian how I've missed you
>>2894834613 unfathomably high level exchanges in Kengan
>>289482764Chapter uploaded. It includes both spread and separate final pages.
>>289483745He really could do to tell his little asshole friends to shut the fuck up more often.
>>289483573My theory is that Desmond will turn out to be another gagAn extremely autistic and dense character
>>289483647Damian, control yourself...
>>289483851Or he is twilights dad. A undercover agent who worked his way up to the highest levels to stop the war, and he thinks his first wife&son are dead in the war and now he is stuck in the role as desmond with his new family.
>>289482275>neurosurgeryHmmm.
>>289483573my theory is that he can read minds, but every second person he meets is a spy or assassin of some kind, and thus meeting Twilight was just tuesday for him
>>289481596Connie is my favorite of Anya's classmates with her gigantic forehead and she's funny too.
>>289482501It's fortunate that you are 5 years old. Someone older might wonder what would happen if two mind-readers read each other's minds.
>>289484004Anya and her mom could read each others mind without any problems in the flashback.
>>289483936Timeline doesn't line up.
>>289484039I don't remember this
>>289483851that's my theory as well
>>289483851>My theory is that Desmond will turn out to be another gagThat would be kino, like pic related.
I love both Fiona and Yor
>>289482604Could the dizzy guy be a spy or am I over thinking things here? Desmond could have real spies looking out for him too
Maybe he is just there to finally get confirmation that he needs glasses? He keeps squinting
>>289484114Filthy speedreader.
>>289484114because it didn't happen, only Anya had telepathy. It was mentioned that "she was born with telepathy by accident"(it wasn't even intentional)
>>289484312Probably has, like the SSS and Non!KGB looking out for him. That's if he could actually read minds or he's extremely autistic with a schizo wife.
>>289483647Well she's 4 years old, she might grow up with Bayonetta legs still
>>289483573Yeah, he 100% can read minds but it requires specific circumstances like having that person close and maintaining eye contact or something, unlike Anya who can read minds of everyone around her, whenever she wants it or not.
>>289482764>>289482794Thank you dump anon! You and your kind have brought me much joy over the years.Blessing upon you.
>>289484052He's just using top-tier face masks like Twilight, that's why Melinda says that he changed!
>>289481596>hosipital
>>289484419>Anya's real momOh man it's going to be a rough chapter when she finally shows up, I genuinely see Yor and Loid as her legit parents
Yes! Back to school chapter!
>>289484419Not that guy, but you're making assumptions that I don't think the page supports. Nothing here suggests mindreading. She's checking in with her mom after seeing something surprising or unfamiliar. That's pretty common toddler behavior.I think you could also read this as her not being able to speak very well yet and communicating mostly through tiny noises. Based on how unstable she seems to be on her feet, she may not even be two yet.>>289484900She's dead, man.
>>289484900Honestly I wasn't sure why she was included at all. I had always assumed Anya was either a tube baby or a product of sex trafficking which was probably rampant during the war. The kids born out of it have no legal identities which makes them perfect specimens for unethical tests. But considering her mother exists she's most likely dead.
Perfect moment for her return.
>>289483573Yeah I could see that
>>289482331>>289482604>>289482679Anya's language studies...
>>289484900>I genuinely see Yor and Loid as her legit parentsBecause they areShe isn't a "real" mom, she's the biological mother. Yor is the real mom and Anya is her real daughter. Yes I will go to war over this.
>>289484900I wonder if Anya sees them as that though. I feel like the other kids are consistent with how much they admire and respect their parents, but Anya seems like her views on Loid and Yor change based on her current circumstances. Nothing about her feelings towards them seems stable other than that they're some of the better options she's had so far.
dumb peanut
>>289486053Franky's wife getting hands-on experience with kids huh
>>289480342With Fiona and Loid
>>289482540Fiona holding Anya is cute
>>289481745I didn't expect this from her, pretty cool
>>289481122And that's a good thing
>>289482679>>289482764It's not just me, right? I can't imagine Anya or Desmond are actually going to clash. No way something that interesting is going to happen in this Manga. Something will interrupt them.
>>289482679>>289482764>>289482794I gotta be honest, Axeman has a seriously amazing hidden talent for building actual suspense. No recent manga ever had me slowly flip through the pages to analyze every detail like Spy x Family can, especially during Donovan Desmond chapters.
>>289481745>composition notebookResponse>red penUrgent>1 p.m,Location in hospital compound ground plan relative to clock positionsAccurate breakdown of signals?
>>289486742>Axeman has a seriously amazing hidden talent for building actual suspenseI can't lie and say that he doesn't, I feel like I'm on the edge of my seat every time we get an arc like this even when I know full well nothing will happen
>>289484211based
>>289482540Kek
>>289486742>>289487009This is probably why anons are always inevitably so disappointed at the eventual return to status quo even if anyone could have seen it coming from a million miles away
>>289487061holy melons
>>289483851Imagine if it turned out that he was an idiot who genuinely does believe that he has mind reading powers, but is actually just deluded.
What if he has mind-writing powersI'm not as pessimistic as the other anons here, I think we will get a good hint this time around
>>289484419not evidence
>>289487233I don’t even mind the status quo, even the worst of it beats the derivative fightfag slop I see in WSJ. I had some genuine laughs back in the broadcasting station arc.
>>289487009I just feel normally curious as to why Desmond's there and who he's meeting. The rest doesn't feel like it matters until someone manages to make contact. I'm not even sure if Anya or Loid will make it all the way to their floors before being found by Yor or the nurses, and I don't care enough about what will happen to Fiona.I think it's because most of the time these set-ups just build to a conversation between characters. If we managed to get something different happening instead of just that I'd be engaged with it again.
>Fiona craves Loi-Loi’s handsome face, chiseled body and canonically 9 inch willy >consolation prize is gonna be fucking FrankyAbsolutely brutal, it just isn’t fair
Need air conditioner
>>289484750Considering he likely become a telepath much later in life, I wouldn't be surprised if his brain was much less adapted to be a mind reading.Hence frequent visits to neurologists and maybe not being as good of a mind reader.
>>289483647Why would you say that?!
I ain't buying the telepathy stuff, simply because this is the bait laid bare before us. It's a red herring and there will be a twist, otherwise why would be strung along like this for all this time. Just to confirm or deny it at the end? There must be something more.It will be something similar perhaps, which is why mind-writing wouldn't be out of the question, since the effect on a person would be similar too. If I can put thoughts in your head, of course you will believe that I can read your mind.My memory is a bit hazy, but how did the prior encounter between Desmond and Anyo go? She couldn't read his mind and got a headache or something?
>>289487556He's getting a prostate exam anon
>>289488901..did she have a stroke?
>>289488956>how did the prior encounter between Desmond and Anyo go?I'm 90% sure they've never met. The only time he was around her (the mixers), she fell asleep beforehand. Every other time we've seen Desmond, the Forgers haven't been present.
>>289489227I'm getting old and forgetful, thanks anon
>>289488980prostate exams… in the neuropsychology ward???
>>289487360This would be a better twist than mind reading. It both presents a different danger to the cast and doesn't immediately out their secrets to the main villain.
Damn I actually missed the last chapter. Mangadex didn't update for some reason.
>>289489413because at this point, it wouldn't be much of a twist, right? since we now get teased with the "battle of the telepaths" it wants to come across like soft-confirmation, but there must be something else.
>>289485283>Anya is a product of sex traffickingAXEMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN STOP
I just got up to Fiona and realized something, Yor has been shown killing people only two or three times. Does her job as an assassin start to actually matter or is it just a gag?
>>289490766>Does her job as an assassin start to actually matterYes. Later. There's a whole arc on it not far from where you are and then another one later. Though Axeman admits that he struggles with showing Yor doing assassin stuff too often because he doesn't want her to look like a monster.
>>289489646I feel like the moment of confirmation should've been with that one spread where Melinda told Loid about it, but it got brushed aside for so long with only Anya believing her that it doesn't feel conclusive enough on its own.
>>289483390I care
>>289486053Daily reminder Anya is cute but that is no reason to adopt a daughter.
>>289490991damn, now I need to adopt a child, just for the ironic snarky reply I could then post in response for some of that sweet sweet karma and awards
>>289490991Jesus fuckin Christ, where do people like that even come from.
>>289489646>Battle of the Telepaths>Turns out telepaths can't read each other>But Donovan's never actually clashed with another telepath either so he also has no idea what's going on>Calls up the Authens>It's actually so Damien can have study session at the same time as Anya to spy on herPlot progression and puppy love kino at the same time inbound, lads
>>289482115>cardiologyPoor lady must have heart issues, but I'm sure she's being well monitored and receives the right education. Hospitals are in a way incredibly wholesome, helping people in physical need.
>>289488842For the mission, right? Twilight?Right?! Twilight?!RIGHT?! TWILIGHT?!
>>289482331>Oh. A coded message from Twili... nevermind it's just his retarded daughter.
>>289482794that was some solid development paired with fun anya moments! Endo really hyping me off for this battle of telepaths, and if it turns out that Donovan can't actually mind read, I'LL BE SHOCKED
>>289483851>turns out he's at the hospital to see a specialist doctor because he keeps hearing voices in his head and doesn't know why
>>289486742It's funny that you used an OP reaction image because I'm over here banging my head in frustration over Oda's fetish for holding plotlines and characters, pretty much everything hostage for actual decades. Elbaf is sandwiched between a bunch of breakweeks and flashbacks
>>289484798Noticed some typos in Hunter X Hunter this week as well. Viz getting stretched thin?
>>289480342When was the last time we see Yor in her black dress again?Man, I miss the time when this series still has a libido.
>>289495382Halkenbug...
>>289488956It's pretty obvious that "Donovan is a telepath like Anya" is false. For one thing, it's been explicitly stated by Melinda that he can read minds. Not only would this be very underwhelming as a reveal, but she also explicitly stated that he's an alien replacement, which is clearly false. But it's worth examining what she actually said.Melinda gave an example of Donovan "reading her mind", which was him having knowledge of intimate details of how she spent her day, without her telling him anything.Tell me: When you get home from an ooting, are you thinking about what you just did, or are you thinking about what you're going to do next?Keep that in mind while I briefly bring up the other psychic in the story: Bond.Bond can't read minds like Anya can. Instead, he has precognition: He can see things that are going to happen to him in the future. Why is this relevant? Because it creates a theme. Bond can see his future. Anya can read what someone is thinking in the present. As for Donovan? He's a retrocognitive: He can see a person's memories. This makes him the single greatest threat to WISE and Operation Strix, and we're going to see a demonstration of this ability when he eventually (not in this arc) confronts Twilight and greets him as [Redacted].Remember, Twilight has never thought his real name before, so this is something that not even Anya knows. It will be the ultimate flex and most pivotal "Operation Strix is dead" moment at the climax of the story.Source: I made it up.
>>289496029I am not convinced he has any powers at all, he's a cold reader
>>289496029he's just a normal /a/non, leave him alone already!
>>289482604>Stairs: 1>Anya: 0
>>289496788Anya is a Dalek.
>>289497226Stairs and steep slopes have never been an issue for Daleks even in the classic era. You even see them using geiger counters and other tech in the '60s era despite them having no fingers.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kF_CzaYiLghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_cJ9BlMCw8
>>289497505>the peanut is dumber than a dalekbloody hell
>>289483851I forget, why are they trying to get close to him in the first place?
>>289482331There is something absolutely adorable over how dumb Anya is and Midnight thinking it's a code. Anya's aunt clearly cares a lot about her.
>>289497632To figure out what he's up to. No one knows Desmond's plans and he's powerful to do just about anything so everyone wants to know what he's up to just to see where things are going
>>289497632The fear is he’s trying to start another war between Ostania and Westalis, but WISE can’t be sure of what Donovan’s intentions are and doesn’t want to make assumptions, so it’s Loid’s job to investigate.
>>289497656That's a huge stretch. It just reads like she's as mission brained as Twilight is and can't parse anything unrelated to spying when she's in the zone.
>>289487863I kinda like Fiona so I hope she’ll get a better consolation prize>>289495236Me but with Detective Conan. It’s been dragged on for so long that the seiyuu for the main girl has recently passed away this year.
>>289498356Franky is a good guy and from their interactions they pair up well. Neither deserves to end up alone, and who knows, Franky might have a twilight tier body underneath his unc clothes.
>>289496029Nice write up anon. >>289498593Maybe it’s because of the way I see people treat Krillin that it bugs me
>>289498767I don't take anything /dbs/ says seriously, Krillin married a baddy.
>>289482764The stomach problems are going to save him against Desmond somehow
>>289484199Does anyone else see Fuchi of Junji when looking at his face?
Anya is about to meet her father in law....
virgin housewife.
>>289499051I'm curious about how the interaction with Desmond and Anya will go, he knows about the little pink haired girl who hit Damian and how they're getting along.I am the anon who thinks he is a cold reader, I am guessing he will guess she has some kind of secret but wont glean anything else from the conversation where he is kind to a little girl with an overactive imagination.I doubt Loid will meet Desmond again, his entire thing this arc will be trying to work despite being legitimately ill, leading to comedy.
>>289496029My best guess right now is that he's an empath who can read feelings rather than a telepath who can actually read thoughts. Not only would this tie into his philosophy on human relations, it would also still explain his isolation snd treatment of his family.
>>289487061Twlights wife....and Yor
>>289499236yeah that's why I think he is a cold reader who wants to read minds.
>>289499051They'll save him if it prevents them from meeting at all. He quite literally just went through an arc where he remembered that putting his own life on the line and risking death is one of the stupidest things he could do as a spy. If he runs into Donovan he'll probably go into shock.
>>289482043He figured out she's a spy right here btw
>>289498894True
>>289499897I thought it was back here.
Donovan will invite anya to his house soon.
>>289480342>yfw this dumb shit has been going for 10 years and it's been nothing but padding and filler>10 years and no kiss>10 years and still the first semestera girl the same age as anya when this series started would be in high school by now
>>289499897>>289500156she works as a nurse admin or some other administrative role, I assume he probably assumes she made him as a bigwig and is trying to gain political favor, not that she is a spy.
>>289500250>10 years and still the first semesterThis part does bother me a bit, i've seen more egregious examples of slow passage of time but Spy X Family is getting up there
>>289500250it's actually in the second semester now
>>289500337it has so much potential when you read the early chapters tooimagine if we actually got a plot instead of 100 chapters of filler
>>289500436So we can expect to see the second year around 2040?
>>289500454yeah
>>289500337Time has passed steadily I think. The first semester ended quite a while ago. The events of most chapters just happen within days of the previous one (or immediately after).>>289500437Anon, the daily life is the plot. Finding Desmond's secrets is more a goal that was made clear pretty early on would not happen quickly.
>>289498356Lol Franky is better than Fiona
>>289481627>"...I don't know anything about my own father."Damian knew more than WISE. Imagine your main target slipping in and out of your cover job on a regular basis without your organization's notice the entire time.
so, what are you expecting to happen? I'm thinking anya gets near him, donovan recognizes her, and then they both collapse from psychic feedback
>>289500608I'm thinking its likely we'll get shenanigans that result in them seeming to miss each other completely, only for there to be some surprise big reveal at the end like with Sigmund.
>>289500608Anya passes out on the stairs, Loid passes out in the lobby, Donovan evades Fiona, and Yor takes Anya to school. Not expecting this to go beyond the next two chapters. The characters dance around him like this every time he pops up and the location and timing here are so bad that I can only imagine him doing something that shakes off WISE and maintains the vague plausibility of him being a telepath to the audience. There isn't enough known about him to form a specific theory about his actions.
>>289500608What the other two anons said. I'm still counting on Surjay being someone important and I see that being the big development instead of any kind of confrontation with Donovan.
Were Yuri and Becky inserted as characters just to filter out the normalfags?
>>289501155are you retarded? tell me anon, put yourselves in the shoes of the mangaka. what would be the point of "filtering" out readership, especially in fucking Jump. what an idiotic question anon, be ashamed and do better.
Personally? I would wait 7 years for Becky to reach prime sexual attractiveness before plapping her.
>>289501155no, they're to filter in Japanese readers
>>289501225>would be the point of "filtering" out readership, especially in fucking Jump. what an idiotic question anon, be ashamed and do better. So what’s the point of putting in incest & loli bait then?
>>289501325because most people aren't mentally deficient and just recognize them as jokes and tropes. Because they get played as jokes.
>>289501359>ha-ha incest and pedophilia, so funny!Strange sense of humor the Japs have there…
>>289501255B E C K
Do not post Becky.
>>289501708hurry up Yor, the man needs a hug.
>>289501856He may need a hug, but he really doesn't need broken ribs.
What sort of arc do you guys want to see after this one’s over? Something Garden-focused with Yor? An Eden arc with Anya and friends? Loid recovering in the hospital/at home, with Anya and Yor taking care of him while he’s forced to self-reflect about his job and marriage?
Damian you useless fuck, come help your little peanut wife fight your schizo warmongering father.
Melinda's tareme eyes are pure sexo
>>289502012ribs and pelvises can heal, emotional scars are harder to mend.
>>289502111>warmongering father. He haven't started any war so far, you useless WISE spy propagandizer cuck
>>289502074I want a family arc that rewards Anya for her last stella.
>>289502377no, but he seems pretty pro-war to me
>>289502377He was literally the Prime Minister during the last East-West war, you fake news Ostanian retard. Stop reading mainstream media, i.e. state-sponsored propaganda.
>>289502768Listen, you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.
>>289487320>Imagine if it turned out that he was an idiot who genuinely does believe that he has mind reading powers, but is actually just deluded.Let's take it a step further. He's so super deluded and paranoid that he's actually predicting exactly what they're thinking and that feeds back into his delusion of having telly pathy.
>>289502826>telly pathyPeanut hands typed this post.
>>289502768He didn't start the war fuckface
>>289500337>>289500250it was clear from the beginning that we won't see Anya grow up or anything like that. Most likely, the entire series will be concluded before the end of the first school year.I agree this kind of stuff sucks, but it is pretty much the norm in anime/manga, only rare cases break from it.In other words, always assume a series won't have any meaningful time progression. If it does have one, consider it a nice bonus.
>>289503066Sounds like something a fake news Ostanian "journalist" would say.
Hey wait did they ever actually say anything about what the outcome of the war was? like did any land change hands or anything?
>>289503168No, but I guess they are following GDR and FRG aftermath. Endo is a pussy and won't show anything remotely political. That's why we probably won't see what Westalia looks like.
>>289503073I think this only became solidified after the dog arc. Up until then there was an emphasis on mission taking place over a long period of time, and the pace was pretty quick. Anya even took her midterms by chapter 26. I personally believe that Axeman wasn't sure it would be a long-running series, but the growing volume sales allowed things to change. Because after that point, the timeline really ground to a halt as Axeman started creating and adding new side characters, stretched out the comedy segments, and kept the story arcs singly focused on one family member at a time.Right now, we're between the six month mark and the nine month mark since Anya still hasn't had spring midterms yet. I do think that counting her stella stars progress can determine how long the plot will go. But seeing as how she's already halfway to her goal, I think that, allowing for Loid to have meetings with Desmond after she reaches it, they might end within two years of in-story time passing at most. Barring an epilogue, of course.

Artists wanting to be credited makes sense, but not wanting their content shared AT ALL has never made sense to me.
>>289504592that's the point. they want the credit / engagement for their own metrics. since we're talking small scale here, the word of mouth doesn't work as it does with already popular artists.some people go as far as removing the visual credits on the images, so you don't know who did the drawing

Even if she does get there, though, if Desmond can read minds, Loid's plan of swooping in and becoming his BFF is DoA.I think I lean more towards her getting there than not, even if Axeman has to dump multiple stars on her at once, but I don't know if it will be more than a stepping stone.>they might end within two years of in-story time passing at mostAs that other anon said, I have a really hard time seeing this go beyond the end of the year. How many chapters do you guys figure we’ll ultimately get before Axeman closes the book on this manga? 200? 250? More than that? What do you think would be a good number?
>>289506658it's been going for 7 years at this point, might as well shoot for 10 and then dip
>>28950668110 would be a good number but it doesnt feel like we have reached an endgame or mid really either
>>289506658Maybe a little over 200. Axeman seems to be cutting the fat these days so I wouldn't be surprised if it only reached 200, assuming he wants it to end on a nice number. That'd be about three years left, maybe a bit more when accounting for his breaks.
>>289507006imo we definitely reached midgameand endgame can start whenever axeman chooses to, something he should be prepared to do anyway in case of axe
But we're nowhere near close to enough stellas
>>289507503you lack creativity. create a situation where Anya gets multiple at once and you can solve this real quick.if this is even necessary in the first place. the manga isn't about her getting stellas, it's about operation strix. the manga can just end without her earning all of them, and then show an epilogue with her grown up she's in that elite group I forgot that name of, the super duper nerd kids.
>>289507503Plan A hasn't been the main focus for 100 chapters at this point. It's not even guaranteed to happen by the end. It's similarly not guaranteed to produce results just like the other plans. Hell it seems like most of Strix's major developments happen by accident.Ultimately Loid is going to get to Desmond however Axeman wants him to. He's the main character and he's the one that really matters here.
>>289507614considering that a lot of the time we get jokes about Plan B, aborting the plan, reigniting the plan and so on, Axeman is already preparing the eventuality that Plan A will be abandoned or not necessary to pursue anymore because of circumstances X. I would go as far as saying that Plan A being successful by the end would be very surprising. A stated plan in a shonen manga that works out? The biggest subverted expectation ever.
Anya is going to be expelled...And will go back to the orphanage
This manga deserves a tragic but hopeful ending
>>289496029I like it, but there's a gap.The oldest son. Unless it's just a pure coincidence, his behavior reeks of being brainwashed. I don't think retro-cognition can do that.Which is why I tend more on the mind manipulation side. I really don't have much to base this on, but the school is probably involved too. And I think the oldest brother is essentially being remote controlled by his father for some reason. And your example, you can achieve the same effect by manipulating Melinda and have her do things. And having these intimate details on how she spent her day, well of course, he told her what to do. And Donovan might have slipped up here, and revealed too much. It's the same with the aliens stuff, it's an explanation that he could plant into her.One thing we can all probably agree on though, it can't be just mind-reading. but something that is similar to some extent
>>289507860the older brother reeks more of "I need to think about nothing to avoid having my mind being read"
>>289508127true, but if we go with "mind-reading is an red herring", then this easy explanation is a part of it the feint. because you might as well say "the boy is on standby/automatic until further instructions" and explain his blank mind through that.
>>289508127This feels like an odd thing for him to do at school. It's not like he knows about Anya at all. It's the same with Melinda, too. Damian only mentioned Donovan at the end of the bus arc, she immediately dove into her severe contrary thinking. But she doesn't do that all the time, since she was normal when Anya read her mind the second time they met.

>>289507463>endgame can start whenever axeman choosesThis is why I don't know how to feel about this arc. The setup doesn't seem like something that's going to allow the telepath and suspected telepath to reach each other, but it also feels like we're teetering on the edge of the third act and waiting for Axeman to tip us over. This could do that, but I feel like that's not the purpose here.
I need her backstory. now.

>>289505580Anya really isn't any better than Damian in that regard. She has a fake family and her life is a lie. Ultimately she is just an orphan that nobody wanted except a spy that took her in just so he could use her as an actor for his undercover operation. She breaks down anytime that even hints at ending. I can't imagine what would happen if Twilight inevitably has to leave her. Anya likes to gloat over Damian regarding their relationship and his situation a lot, but really she does so because Damian and her are the same and it makes her feel better about herself. Damian is just a boy that wants a loving family and to be a kid, Anya is just a girl that wants a loving family and to be a kid, but both are denied this due to adults and the war. Those two dumb peanuts are more alike than they think.
>>289490991there's nothing wrong with being influenced by fiction. that's one of the good things about fiction, and better than just endless wish fulfillment that it regularly is. obviously adopting a real kid isn't like anime. real kids that need a home usually have some form of mental disability, physical disability, behavior problems, substance abuse problems, etc. It's awful. But if they could get any home, even some weeb, that's better than being dumped like trash at an orphanage.
Bumpo!
I think the end result of this arc should be Anya and Donovan switching brains. He already has a convenient scar, so there's easy access. And Anya just needs to be held sideways and shaken up until the peanut falls out of her head.

>include Fiona in a chapter>thread dies because she's shitSee, as simple as that.
Honestly that line about her being willing to sacrifice Twilight to make his dream come true really feels like Axeman trying to get the people that dislike her to dislike her more, and those that like her twisted mind to like her more.
>>289514691Threads fate are up to the yorspammer, chapters not including Yor will always be slow.

>>289515039Yor not all that interesting.
>>289502253
>>289514946Nah, the TV arc and pizza party chapters were fast even when Yor wasn't there. There's just nothing to talk about with Fiona unlike with the other characters. Even Damian has a chance to mention something new about his parents in an Eden chapter. There's a chance Fiona might finally get something interesting to follow if she can make contact with Donovan, but most people expect nothing here.
>>289511233>I can't imagine what would happen if Twilight inevitably has to leave her.Could make for a dramatic few chapters. Something happens, shit hits the fan and all the spies have to go into hiding for awhile. Meaning Loid has to "abandon" Anya and even Yor for awhile.
>>289514554we love Fiona
>>289514782She's definitely a devisive character. I appreciate Axeman's willingness to commit to her psycho bit here. It still comes across if you don't have an overly charitable view of her, but it's more clear in the original text. In English she says "For that is how much I love him!" But in the original, it's "それが 私の愛(プライド)" or "That's my 'love' (really, pride)!" Remember, Fiona didn't know that both Yor and Anya left the room. She was originally torn because she couldn't alert him in his current condition, but decided to do it anyway because Yor was there. That's why she thinks of Yor getting mad during her justification for pulling Twilight out of his sickbed. Fiona would rather he die for peace between east and west because at least then she and he would be working together as spies. Her ego can't handle Yor helping him recover even when forcing him to work is the obviously foolish option.
>>289505580I eagerly await the arc which deals with the fallout from the inevitable reveal. (and the solution to it has actually been covered already since Anya did tell Damian about her powers, it doesn't matter if he doesn't believe her now, she actually told him, she was extremely vulnerable with him, and when her powers are finally realized Damian will understand she was more honest with him than anybody else, putting herself at risk to reveal such a secret power to him). Oh it's gonna be good.
>>289517190Can't believe that was two years ago.

>>289518426>But after these two fix each other it's going to be a mess.he's a big guy
>>289518426As if Anya wouldn’t know right away what they did. Remember that she can not only read people’s thoughts, but see their mental images and whatever they’re picturing in their mind.
>>289518226It's barely started. For my part, I'm not interested in any of the characters conversing with Donovan because those encounters barely had any variation between them up until now. And like Damian avoiding any tonitrus bolts, I have a feeling something will keep Anya away from Donovan again. The most interesting thing this chapter didn't even happen at the hospital, it was from the school: Donovan goes to the hospital so often that Jeeves noticed and told Damian about it. So how is it that Donovan goes there frequently enough for it to be worth mentioning to his estranged son and yet none of the WISE spies managed to find this out until now? Because Loid absolutely would've started building a rapport with him there if he knew instead of relying on indirect connections between Anya and Yor.
>>289518458It can be spur of the moment and still be out of character. Anya's fear of people discovering her secret is her most consistent character trait. Revealing it should be a big deal, not a slip, especially in this manga where secrets are everything. And then it's made worse by how little it mattered after. This should've been a major moment for their characters and it wasn't. The whole thing was a travesty that should never have happened.
>>289518748>It's barely started. That's never mattered before. People are usually excited chatterboxes as soon as the arc starts.>Donovan goes to the hospital so often that Jeeves noticed and told Damian about it.This is funny, though, because it completely invalidates the need for the Imperial Scholar plan and honestly the entire family and Eden in general. The whole point of that was that the Imperial Scholar meetings were the only place Donovan ever appeared. Finding out that he's actually at the hospital all the time just rendered Strix entirely unnecessary.
>>289518748>>289519028it's 100% something axeman didn't have planned out at first a la sandro
>>289519240Oh absolutely. I assume it's an intentional retcon to get out of Plan A since Loid and Anya have both given up on it already anyway.
>>289519434it's still a really bad look for axeman since it invalidates the entire mangaI wonder what Lin is doing
>>289519470It's possible that this is a recent in-universe development and wasn't the case when the manga started. It still looks bad that no one in WISE noticed, but at least this wouldn't make the manga's premise pointless since WISE couldn't have anticipated this.
>>289519028>That's never mattered before. People are usually excited chatterboxes as soon as the arc starts. You know, you're right about that because it's not like Axeman's latest arcs started too dissimilarly from this one. I think there's just less overall reader investment in the characters involved here.>because it completely invalidates the need for the Imperial Scholar plan and honestly the entire family and Eden in generalThis is why that line is so insane. Loid chose his cover profession because he thought he could run into Donovan at the hospital that all the VIPs use if Donovan ever got sick, but admitted he's had no luck. Yet Donovan, known recluse, just openly strolls right to the general ward and casually gets into the elevator with his security detail. And according to Jeeves, he's been doing this frequently, at least as of late. So why was this the first time they managed to catch him without overhearing it even though their covers are stationed within the hospital?Even Melinda was explained away as being a "high risk, low reward" target, but this is the main guy they're after, and he's only known for his Eden appearances, not these frequent hospital visits. So how were they able to overlook it for so long? It makes me wonder if whatever psychic ability he has is involved in concealing these visits somehow, or if we'll finally see something more concrete about what it is.
Donovan is supposed to be the final boss, but you can count his manga appearances on one hand, he almost never talks, we know little about him, and we know more about his kid self than we do anything War related.Add in Axeman's love for cliffhangers and tendency to move as slow as molasses, and I find it hard to care about what is currently happening. And that is why I would prefer more family content or SSS stuff personally.
>>289520737>or SSS stuffI wasn't expecting the SSS guys to be as funny as they are. Doubt that Axeman will write more comedic material about them unless they're side chapters, though.
>>289520917I'm glad they liked Loid, it means SSS will be on his and Yor's side when they go to rescue Anya.Garden, SSS and WISE will back them up.

>>289518748>So how is it that Donovan goes there frequently enough for it to be worth mentioning to his estranged son and yet none of the WISE spies managed to find this out until now?Because Donovan uses his elite spies at the hospital, not Yuri's jobber brigade at the SSS.
>>289523099They walked straight through the lobby in the middle of the day and headed for the general ward instead of the symposium as would've been expected of him. They're making almost no effort to be discrete about his presence. When she spotted them last chapter, she realized that they were aware she was there but were unconcerned by her presence. And if he's been able to come and go discretely without attracting their notice before, why would he be so open about it now? Or was he always this visible?
