In today's episode, Waka performs before the Shogun!Let's celebrate together!
>the Shogun asks Oniyasha to live with himUhh that's kinda suspect
https://x.com/MiKan9981/status/2079190878367985822This episode's staff artwork contributed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, who also did some animation on the opening.
>>289509054You would too if you'd seen him dance.
>>289509256I'd ask for more than that.
>entertainment in the past was watching a guy dance while another guy hit a drumGod, I'm so glad I live in the present. This shit looks so boring
>>289509054They 100% fucked irl. It was a thing and I wish it still was.
uh... what?
how can a boy be this cute
Catched up to this show today, it was amazing. Why don't I see more talks about it?
>>289511244Apparently it's not on crunchyroll. I torrent all my anime, but I guess that's an impediment for some. That plus not only history, but the history of dancing/theater.
>>289510761if your life consisted of farming rice and famine i would be quite entertained, plus the Shogun showed up and if he is feeling charitable there might be more food to go around for a bit
This show is insanely gay, and I say that as a homosexual man.
>>289509017I forgot it was on Mondays, will watch soonish
>>289511328>it doesn't get talk because it's not on fucking crunchyrollwhat happened to this board?
Oniyasha pleases old men for money.
Oh, this is by Cygames pictures. That explains things.
>>289510761>guy extends his arms and slowly turns in place>audience: "HOLY SHIT HE IS LITERALLY OKINA, 1000 YEARS OF JAPANESE HISTORY ARE POURING INTO MY BRAIN, OH GOD I'M GONNA CUM"
>>289510831Yeah that threw me at the end, I assume it’s for next episode.
I like this and I like how unpredictable it is to me, I know it’s a journey of his own self discovery, but I still can’t predict where it will go exactly from here.
>>289513849In this specific regard, I envy pre-modern people. Our enjoyment of things is definitely desensitized by omnipresent stimulation.
>>289513849The key here is that it's a little boy. Everyone wants to fuck a little boy.
>>289509256I don’t trust this guy for some reason.
>>289514190You can trust him. He is literally me.
>>289514005This is so retarded. We in the present get to immerse ourselves in enjoyment 24/7. People 500 years ago did not have it better
I still can't believe this is a boy.
>>289514795But anon, we've seen him shirtless. He is flat as a board.
>>289515416>He is flat as a boardSo are the only sexually-relevant girls.
>>289510831>>289513853He's just that amped about the future of Sarugaku.
We were robbed.
Also, this scene made more sense in the manga. Both the shogun having sex at the shrine and the supposed to be ritually purified Oniyasha witnessing it were no nos. So Yoshimitsu saying he must have dreamed their meeting was about more than just saving face.
>>289516731That makes more sense
>>289516671Are you telling me they didn't include in the anime one of the closest winks to shudo the manga ever had??? Grim.Maybe later. There's still hope... right? They really are taking plenty of liberties with this adaptation. At least it's still enjoyable for what it is but these things do suck.
>>289516731it makes perfect sense here though, you're not supposed to act like that to the shogun
Did they include his voyeurism fetish
>>289517203What time slot is it? Between this and some differences with the Shirabyoshi, I get the impression that they're specifically steering clear of sex.>>289517579It does still make sense in the anime. But it makes more sense in the manga. In the anime Yoshimitsu didn't do anything wrong (except maybe wandering around in the woods without his guards) and Oniyasha's only misdeed was his inappropriate behavior before the shogun. So it wouldn't have actually been that big of a deal to acknowledge that they had met before and Yoshimitsu could have just scolded him for his impropriety. But in the manga, they've both done something that they cannot publicly acknowledge without causing a big controversy. So going with the "you must have dreamed it" excuse is more necessary.
>>289509017I'm really trying to like this but I just don't find it interesting or entertaining, I can't even tell what kind of character the MC is supposed to be other than femboy baiting. I don't get all the people that were saying this was better than Nige Jouzu.
>>289509017What compels a man to behave in such a manner?
>>289514795I'm not joking that I had to stop and jerk off. To totally feminine porn, of course.
>>289518552>I can't even tell what kind of character the MC is supposed to beAn autist. About everything, but especially dance/theater. I think the comparisons to nigewaka are apples to oranges. They're both good for different reasons. But I don't think either are for everyone, with that probably being even more true for this.
That brown boy was definitely living with the shogun. If you catch my footwork.
>>289519584Of course he's living with him. He's a retainer!
>>289516671They have no-homo homosex in the mango?
>>289520195No. That pic is the extent of it. But it still would have been hot.
>>289518552>>289519537I'm one saying I prefer this to Nigewaka, mainly because of the MC being better in my honest opinion. He have a cuter voice, cuter personality in general, the autism and funny faces are fun and he's girlier, looks girlier, totally a trap and yes I love that on boys, simple as. That said I like both boys but I like Tokiyuki in shota form only. When he grew up in the manga and started getting touched by women I couldn't care anymore about him.As for things other than the MC, I'm enjoying the very artistic animation and its quality more than Nigewaka's. Much more than the CGI horses for sure. But yes, both shows are like apples and oranges despite the similarities and setting. This is also less of a typical shonen which is great. It's just a matter of preference.
>>289520980I like Tokiyuki more appearance wise precisely because he is less girly looking. But I agree with you about Oniyasha having a cuter personality. He is such an emotive little sperg.
That shogun is a troll
>>289522226It's in his blood. Never trust an Ashikaga.
>>289510804>He doesn't know
>>289512615The internet as a whole is dying
>>289512615/a/ is dead.
>>289519340Shota is LoveShota is Life
>>289519340Seeing a cute boy usually does it.
I wonder if Oniyasha will ever comment on how creepy Noh masks look. He'd be the one blunt enough to say it.
Damn, looks like there's still only 1 gae porn drawing of Oniyasha on pixiv, I don't see any on twatterx
>>289510831Dad is happy that his son will face new challenges and further develop their art.
>>289512615>>289511328>story about traditional dance>mc is maleThis is all you need to know why it's not very popular.
>>289525431Cope. Femboys are more popular than foids, especially in animanga.
>>289525459I wish that were true. But you can look at the catalog and see it's mostly women.
>father, for the first time ever I'm excited to train with you!>no actually you should leaveI am now entirely convinced that Oniyasha's dad was giving him the cold silent treatment on purpose to push him to find inspiration elsewhere.
>>289519982i don't know anything about nippon history, how far apart were these two from being contemporaries?
>>289529035Nip history seems to me like a millenia of "and the feudal lords waged pointless war, slaughtering thousands" and then finally anime was invented.
>>289529035Oniyasha was born 38 years after Tokiyuki. So they could have been contemporaries had Tokiyuki been more elusive.
>>289529035Oniyasha was born 10 years after Tokiyuki died
>>289529510That's because that's the parts people talk about most. Nigewaka takes place right as a period of relative peace is ending. And this takes place just after that fighting has mostly died down and another, admittedly somewhat brief, period of relative peace is starting. What comes after is the over a century long period of unrest and civil war that everyone is most interested in and which gives Japanese history the reputation you describe. But after that was ~250 years of calm.I would actually say that pre-modern Japan had less consistent warfare than most of the rest of the world. One of the benefits of being an island.
i am loving this series, i dont know why its getting hate
>>289531847Is it?
>>289531847>>289532042I can guess who's behind the hate.
>>289531847>hateAll me.
>>289531847-the jokes aren't funny-noda noda noda is fucking annoying-"suffering? just dance :)" is fucking retarded-can't stfu about "good" and "form"
>>289531847>>289532042I don't think that's the case, it just lacks exposure because it's not on mainstream stream service. From wikipedia, apparently it's on fucking HiDive (200k users) of all things. I didn't even know that existed. Also torrenting is a lost technology on this board.
>>289532604why has there always to be an indian shitting on the niche shows?
>>289532625not every niche show is automatically good, dumb bitch
>>289532625Probably because they're vehemently against pedophilia. They gives us whites a lot of shit for it. "Pedo" has literally become an anti-white slur because of them. Even the OG Japanese pedos are using it against us now. Pisses me off.
>>289532939i truly dont understand you. why did you start talking about pedophilia? what does this show have anything to do with it? and even if children were characters, what's the problem? it is just a cartoon, fiction. i hate western tards so much
>>289509017>decide to try dancing after an episode>feels like I'm about to torque my fucking ankles off doing turns and slides>can't do a 3 minute routine despite decent cardio and being 50kgDancing is... StrongI think I'll just watch though.
>>289533052>50 kgBratty anon..
>>289533052>50kghumanlet or underweight
>>289514005Nothing to do with pre-modern people. Some people today watch theater plays and have fun. They don't mind that the people playing the part of cats are just regular dudes with face paint and that the scenery is cardboard. Other people watch the latest Hollywood multibillion dollar production and complain that their immersion was broken because they could notice the alien monster was CGI due to the lighting being slightly off.
>>289533052Dancing used to be a common feature of warrior training regimens. It was often bundled with other cultured artsy stuff like calligraphy and playing music. But they were definitely doing it for the physical aspect too.
>>289533603>Some people today watch theater plays and have fun.A tiny minority of people. There's a greater proportion of the population who manage to be a healthy weight than pull off the neurological equivalent. And we can all see obesity is an epidemic caused by modern living conditions. This also misses the point. Even theater today isn't the same as it used to be. It too has had to adapt with the times to be able to hold people's attention, despite selecting for an audience that is better than average in that regard. And it goes a lot deeper than that. I personally like to go outside and just sit or walk through the woods without my phone or any other sort of distracting device. Am I doing it to enjoy nature? Not really. My mind is always racing the entire time about all kinds of random bullshit taking me out of where I am. I do it because eventually the cacophony both in and out of my head get to be too much and I can only silence one of them. The ability to become wholly engrossed in a performance like the one in this episode is something many of us have lost. And I distinctly remember what that feels like from when I could still do it. It's a terrible thing to lose.
>>289533052Ojiichan...
i really liked this episode.i dont know shit about this japanese dancing stuff, but the direction and production is just too marvelous. there are a lot of beautiful shoots, like this one.also the plot seems to be aiming to something.good show.
>>289514479you are the retarded one, and totally missed the point. you need to inject your brain with trash and slop 24/7 to fill the minimal form of enjoyment. people 500 years ago had way less, and had to enjoy with little things. this way they kind remember enjoyable things more fondly, and think deeply about them. they have the time to appreciate them even more, something you are not doing, because after your dopamine hit, youre ready for another. you are not thinking.
>>289535757
>>289535757uhh anon, your pic?
>>289535757kek. I fucking love /a/nons.Yes homo.
>>289535757>>289535845>>289535879i dont know what the hell happened to that pic, here's what i wanted to share
>>289535933Fuck, I'm this >>289535900 anon and thought you were trolling with a random frame from the episode. It would've easily been the best post on /a/ right now.
>>289535757Pink... bussy...
>>289535933
>>289536088give this show some love!
>>289522814And ESLs killed it.
>>289536390Oniyasha is so pretty. He will make a wonderful wife.
