Because this series tends to borrow a lot of plot points and beats from the Batman. My theory is the Sayaka wrap is an homage to Hush which is ironic because Tommy Elliot was a counterpart to Bruce Wayne but a villain and Sayaka is the hero and Homura the villain. Sayaka let go of her love knowing she can't be with him and moved on while Homura is stuck being obsessed and holding Madoka in her prison.
