I really liked the anime when I first watched it a few (15+, fuck I'm old) years ago.But I never got around to reading the manga because I knew that all the girls died pretty bad deaths. And while I don't mind drama and some suffering in a story, it feels kind of lame if there's no happy end after the suffering. Tragedy for the sage of tragedy is just boring.
