She's curious and playful and young. While she isn't a slut I can somewhat see her going down that route under the right circumstances. I think the side stories flesh out her character more. They show a more vulnerable side of Saten, which the raildex manga neglects a little. That characterization of her makes me see her as less likely to become promoscius.

For the most part, it's brown stews, roasts and cooked vegetables. If made correctly, these things can't really be bad.

>>289667656
>It's a popular internet meme, but what about it is bad?
It's a meme older than the internet. Primarily it stems from the fact that Britain didn't end rationing soon after WW2, instead it tapered off, with items gradually being removed from rationing until about 1956 or so, so for quite a long time foreign people visiting Britain would find the food to in large part still be like it was during the war, hence the joke about them still eating like during the Blitz.

A lot of such food has held on, and some of it is on the bland side. I think part of it is economical, people don't mind some mediocre or dull meals because they're also cheap.
Some of it the ridicule is directed towards the absolute struggle meal that is the Toast Sandwich, which I do think is pretty ridiculous, but then a lot of it towards the Beans On Toast, which I think is a lot less deserved, because that one makes a lot more sense to me as a light and cheap meal. I also think the classic English Breakfast gets unfairly maligned, because it's not exactly short on substance or flavor.

>Of course, they still eat quite a bit more offal than Americans tend to be comfortable with
Offal is kinda underrated, hearts can be decent if cooked right, and you've got alright meat in kidney and liver, too. You also cannot make a decent sausage without intestines.

>>289668190
It's just considered a weird decorative element, fish pies exist elsewhere, but people aren't cats, so they don't tend to eat the heads or tails of fishes. I doubt the Brits themselves do, yet the heads are used explicitly for looks, which would be kind of like using chicken heads like this for chicken pies, or cow hoofs for beef mince pies.

>I'm a super casual but aren't they walking around in the same city? So how does that even work?
I mean it is a city with 1.8 million people, not like everyone knows everyone else. They generally just miss each other. One time Index was at Misaka's dorm for an open house and ate like 20plates of food but Misaka never ran into her because she was getting ready for a violin recital.
>What was the Tokiwadai gang doing when there were seraphs and shit in the sky causing world-ending calamities in Index?
Except for Vento's attack, most big noticeable Index magic stuff happens outside the city. Railgun arcs are usually a few weeks apart so anything that Misaka related that happens in Index are usually in-between the Railgun arcs. Picrel is the timeline, Railgun arcs are in red.
>I do vaguely recall Index blowing up the satellite having an impact in Railgun.
It does, Misaka doesn't see the beam though, she only finds out when she tries to hacks the Satellites information retrieval center and finds out it was destroyed. She doesn't bother looking into the cause.

Most of those girls friendship is "filler" since the manga Level Upper is super barebones. Railgun probably would have never took off without the anime actually establishing the gang as characters.
>>289684076
>>289685188
One of the weaknesses of current Toaru is the lack of slice of life elements, just a constant rush into danger. It's like Kamachi is desperate not to show anyone living in his world which is a bit sad. OT was able to strike an okay balance.
>>
>>289686661
>anime actually establishing the gang as characters
Saten was the only one that got real expansion as a character outside of the flanderization they all got for the CGDCT 4 girl squad angle. And that's because she was the director's pet. It definitely brought more people in, but it was some of the worst people. And based on the similar numbers between Railgun s and Index 2, most of them didnt even stay.

>Railgun probably would have never took off without the anime actually establishing the gang as characters
But that's the issue, the Railgun anime sanded basically all the edges off Mikoto, to the point where the very beginning makes it explicit that she's not a violent hooligan who electrocutes people for fun, but actually a totally nice girl, with Saten acting as the added audience surrogate.
>>
>>289686661
Every volume throughout the series had slice of life that lasts for a chapter or 2. Only OT12 was an exception for the entire series. GT isn’t just all action with no pause, every first half of a volume is more slice of lifey before going into the fights.
>>
Railgun 2 manga when?
>>
>>289690402
After Mental Out (and possibly Item) ends
>>
>>289689917
I think it's because of the scale and Touma's social circle incorporating so many freaks that people forget that the general structure of the novels hasn't actually changed much over 20 years.
>>
>>289688390
Railgun already sanded her out a bit due to showing off her perspective, the anime basically made it worse and made her look too sweet.

He fought 5.1 who was dozens of times stronger and than base and took no damage while holding back. OT15 said that if the level 5 espers were ranked for their strength, only Accel and Kakine are ranked correctly. Misaka is weaker than either Gunha or Aihana due to them being the only candidates.

We are kinda mislead into thinking it was a strength ranking until Gunha and mugino come around. Then we get told that it has to do with research potential. Nobody understands gunha so he is worthless, but he is also super strong so level 5. Mugino has more destructive output then Mikoto but less applications for her ability.

Never said Aihana is stronger, it’s just that only them and Gunha are candidates to be the third strongest(Gunha is definitely the most likely between them).

Somehow they get even more stupid than thought possible. Questioning why Thor didn’t use almighty against Silvia, when it was explicit that he find using them boring and easy. Along with saying that Accel’s wings were unexplained and wasted for some reason (said the thing same with the dragons) that is incomprehensible to an actual reader.

>Genuinely saw that same dumbass think that Accel is a gemstone
Funny you should say that, the new chapter of Mental Out reveals that Gemstone powers are passive and always running while Scientific Esper powers need to be activated. It is likened to a faucet, Gemstones faucet is always running while Espers have to force it open but can't keep it going long. The big reason Accelerator is the way he is, is because his brain is powerful enough to keep the faucet running 24/7 making him a Scientific Esper who mimics a Gemstone.
>>
>>289718950
but Accel, Mikoto and Kakine do have explicitly always-active powers and so does Super Saiai
>>

>>289719195
I just know what the chapter said, it is posted on JS06's twitter and they don't say this directly but I think they are differentiating from active power use and the always passive field an Esper emits. I am pretty sure Mikoto's AIM field is what stops Shokuhou's mind control and the burst that happens is a poltergeist.
It works into a theory I have. Since the Imaginary Numbers district is an artificial phase and Senior continued to exist after ascension, I think phases are the build up of Gemstone personal realities over the many millennia of human existence. This chapter telling us that Gemstones can not turn off their power is a step towards that. It also explains why magic works on stories, religion and idol theory. If the Gemstones are still there in some sense, then magic is about contacting the same way a cargo cult does... except it works. It also helps explain how Imagine Breaker works on everything if everything is Esper/Gemstone powers.
That would finally explain what they meant by magic was made by copying Gemstones and the real reason it reacts badly with Espers is because an Esper trying to use magic is essentially them trying to use a second Esper power. It also explains why Grimoires are so corruptive, they are fragments of a Gemstones mind manifesting in our reality.

Considering her current status, you might need to either clone her, get Esther, or wait for Fremea to grow up.
>>289727094
Objectively incorrect. Railgun’s final arc is bottom 3 in the franchise due to how much nothing there is in it. Basically a bad filler anime arc turned to manga arc. Combined with not explaining shit from Jailbreaker and ending on this note, genuinely has a worse ending than the damn Nectar arc. At least that arc was short and ended itself on punching Awaki instead of retreading on the same shit the level upper arc did, but also making changes that make that arc become messier.

>>289720226
Current status of her is unknown. Maybe she’s still underground unconscious, or she could be free now. Last mention of her was in NT11 on how Noukan has weapons made to deal with her and other supernatural forces outside the city.
