Whenever a post criticizing Tomori Kusunoki, other than my own, becomes popular, the replies and quote sections are invariably filled with the misguided claim that she "continues to be criticized simply because she got married." However, I can't help but be puzzled by this phenomenon. No matter how many views my posts investigative of Tomori Kusunoki gather, I rarely see anyone directly coming to me to say that.

There are quite a few people claiming that I am the source of the ongoing controversy surrounding Tomori Kusunoki, but most of the posts I've made over the past six months, totaling 180 million impressions, have focused on the fact that Tomori Kusunoki abandoned her voice acting career for an extended period, and on her tendency to run away from work and slack off, a trait she has exhibited numerous times in the past. In fact, the post that has garnered the most impressions so far was one that pointed out the fact that while Tomori Kusunoki was neglecting her work, she was hanging out with VTuber Takamine Rui. And the post that has received the most likes was one that highlighted the fact that Tomori Kusunoki was the only main cast member absent from the Chainsaw Man Festival, while Ano-chan was desperately trying to liven up the otherwise dull stage. If, as they claim, there really is a space somewhere on the internet where "Tomori Kusunoki is facing backlash simply because she got married," then that is a controversy completely separate from my previous posts and something I have no knowledge of. Therefore, I bear absolutely no responsibility in this matter, and I have no reason to be criticized by those who defend Tomori Kusunoki.

As I've mentioned almost every time, Tomori Kusunoki took a three-month break from January 2026 without making any prior announcement about her hiatus, abandoning all her work. In "Project Sekai," new character gachas and stories for her were released without voice acting, and at important events for "Heavenburns Red" and "Chainsaw Man," she was the only one absent while the other main cast members were present. At a solo live performance just before her hiatus, she was energetically jumping around for two hours, making it unlikely that it was a health problem, and fans of each work were filled with suspicion. Nevertheless, in a personal radio show after her return, she reported that this hiatus was a "period of recharging," and gleefully talked about getting her driver's license and enjoying time with friends. Incredibly, she even revealed that she initially intended to keep the fact that she was on hiatus a secret, assuming that no one would find out. Prioritizing her own freedom and causing real harm to various parties, she didn't even apologize after her return and continued to market herself as an idol as if nothing had happened.

No matter how systematically I present these facts, they invariably revert to the conclusion that "they can't read long texts, so it must be because she got married that she's facing backlash." They abandon the idea of extracting information from the text before them, and without even considering the obvious question of "would a marriage really cause such a long-lasting backlash?", they simply repeat the same canned responses. Their abandonment of intelligence makes them no different from the "Mii-chan" they so readily look down on. And it's precisely because Kusunoki Tomori is surrounded by such people that nearly 9,000 followers are supporting an account like mine. As they repeatedly offer misguided defenses, they don't even realize that they are functioning as a gas station for this online firestorm.

Among those who proclaim that "Tomori Kusunoki has done nothing wrong," not a single one can offer a legitimate defense for the aforementioned "hiatus." In short, they are merely playing the role of champions of justice, pretending to understand everything without even grasping the most basic circumstances of why Tomori Kusunoki continues to face backlash. They are incapable of investigating the facts themselves, incapable of reading texts presented by others, and furthermore, they are not even aware of their own lack of such abilities. No matter how harshly I may criticize them at the end of this essay, I don't need to worry about any backlash from them. This is because they lack the patience and reading comprehension to read this length of Japanese text to the end. In the sense that they don't even have friends to point this out to them and suggest they go to a welfare center, they may be far more hopeless than "Mii-chan."
