The way Sommers talks about the weapons is as if they were frozen in time and Imu uses omen to revive them to their peak powers, in fact omen was originally used to revive the downed Sommers and Killingham. Thing is, I dont think its just the weapons. I think all the 19 kings are cryogenically frozen in that massive freezer we saw Imu in when he visited the frozen strawhat and they are waiting for Imus Omen to revive them when the time for the final war comes. I think Roger and Garp are legitimately stronger than Joyboy and Imu in terms of haki and power. They lacked the means to kill Imu. I think even Shanks, Rayleigh, and Gaban at their peaks are close to that level. Even the giants had to question whether Joyboy's haki was stronger than Shanks or not, and Oda seemed to hold Shanks and Rayleigh in the same regards when he mentioned the power of their haki in an SBS. Shanks capturing Loki despite him trading blows with Imu while injured, and Gaban blocking Imu's axe while also injured AND old tells me it's not as far off as we think, the old legends were strong haki merchants.The problem is Rayleigh, Gaban, and Garp are old now, and Shanks lost his arm which Roger showed his strongest attacks require both arms. The current gen isn't up to par with the old gen yet either, and a lot of them are devil fruit merchants. Mihawk is the only one alive right now who isn't a devil fruit merchant but a swordsman and strength merchant shown to be at that level (he defeated Shanks) and not have a nerf like age or a missing arm.

Shit looks like it'd be right at home in Bleach or Naruto, but in One Piece it feels out of place. They're not complicated designs, but they're good and they convey a lot without being drowned in details. They don't even look super edgy or serious while still giving off that exact aura. The weakness of the God Knights is haki skill, not just haki power. Gaban made it clear you need to know how to use haki properly to fight them.I believe the secret lies in the Breath of all Things. Zoro didn't JUST gain the ability to cut steel or not cut paper, he got the ability to choose what his sword cuts and hear the very life force of things by their breath to make that choice. Hyogoro confirmed the ability to pick and choose what you cut whether it's not cutting paper or cutting steel is an invisible force that is advanced armament. However Zoro had to unlock the ability to see things energies or even know where rocks were going to fall before they fell and know where his sword was under rubble, which is observation.The answer is haki needs to be used together. Zoro was able to SEE the energy of what he wanted cut wit Breath of All Things, then will whether he cut it or not. Flame Rend likely works the same way, see the energy of the fire and choose what your blade cuts to cut the fire itself. Hence Zoro being able to pick it up from Kinnemon.The monster trio doesn't need stronger haki, they need better skills to be able to target the God Knights power itself and attack it.
