>>289716861Thanks Dumpy! It was a pretty fun manga, a bit rushed by the end but i still enjoyed it, i hope the anime is not too bad
>>289716861Thanks anon. Here's the link to the light novel translations for any who missed it:https://amagimiroku.tumblr.com/psyrenThe second one has some additional epilogue stories.
>>289716861My boy tapped Amamiya and Amamiya's other selfMy man Kagetora got together with his one true loveIt was a pretty good ending even with the axe. The last 10 chapters were a bit rough but still entertaining. It was my 3rd time reading it as I read it when I was coming out weekly. Good shit, they don't make Shounen like they used to. I wonder if the anime will leave the Miroku final words on Ch. 144 to expand on a second encounter with him and his nation of psionists.
>>289716722
>>289716722I like how only Kagetora gave even a slight shit about the possibility of a time paradox. The rest are just like "fuck it, we'll do what we want and see what happens".
>>289716820>>289716861Thanks anon! I loved Psyren. I truly missed out on this and Needless when I was a teen. For some reason, the ending theme of NG4 started to play in my head as I finished reading Psyren

>>289716634>>289716668GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD>>289716861Thanks, dumpy-sama. It was a fun ride.Ageha x Amamiya is a 10/10 couple.>official monsterfucker permitIshuzoku Reviewers? Gigabased if true.
>>289716861It was fun rereading it, good ending for an axed manga, really. Wish we could see what I'd be like if it wasn't axed, maybe anime will deliver us some alternative ending. Thanks for dumping
>>289716861Didn't have as good a time as I thought I would, like when reading for the first time years ago, but that's okay. Thanks for posting, anon.
>>289718959>maybe anime will deliverAnon...
>>289716085So his dream is to make psionists' israel?
>>289716361>chapter title is LIVE
>>289715958See ya later big bad.
>>289716085We X-Men now?
The whole manga is the posterboy of wasted potential.I don't know if there was a single character other than Amamiya that feels like the author explored all they could have done with them. Not counting pointless filler characters and W.I.S.E. thugs.

>>289716861thanks opsama, yeah
>>289716085Should've done something like that first instead of wanting to destroy it all.
>>289716861I wasn't a huge fan.It has a lot of good ideas in it, the art looks clean, but I just couldn't really get into it.
>>289716476Goodbye.....Mari.....
>>289716861I still want to groom.....and then breed... Mari.....Thank you OP, thank you very much, this manga was in my "to read" list for like 12 or 14 years and I finally read it thanks to (you). Yours truly, RRY
>>289716861Good series, ended better than expected despite getting axed.
>>289716352Shao won.
>>289716861thanks for posting it, it was a fun revisitahhh this anime is gonna suck so bad
>>289721669Purely by default.
>>289721054In fairness, he did have something of a cosmic horror manipulating him and pushing him to take the extreme option. And if said cosmic horror didn’t actually want to devour the planet, his plan would have worked it seems.
>>289716861Thanks OP! My interest definitely waned by the final arc and I'm disappointed characters like Oboro never got to really do anything, but I'm happy I followed along.
>>289716861It was okay, I guess. The impending axe felt really clear and took the wind out of my sails a bit.
>>289716038Another nice move by the military. Can't track them down to target them specifically? Just do a saturation bombardment of the area they're in.
>>289716509Poor Shao and Granny. Couldn't find a place to stand to fit into the group shot.
>>289716861I greatly appreciate being able to re-visit this manga series in a higher quality (visually, at least). As a man who's worked on scanlating a series with nearly 200 chapters, and I DO MEAN worked on, I can sympathize with just the task of "posting every page and waiting" you went through. So, thanks.Psyren was pretty generic, fairly all-over-the-place, but surprisingly fun and interesting. It introduced characters that were enjoyable and stakes that at least existed (I'm looking at you, Kengan). I liked it. One of the few threads on /a/, or even all of 4chan, that was a pleasure to look through.
>>289716476Nice sendoff for the future folks.
>>289716861Thanks, Dumpy! It's been a real pleasure reading this with everyone!
>>289720505Shave your head, Ageha.
>>289728886Nah. If Miroku's Magneto, either Granny or #7 could be Professor X. Or Professor Q in #7's case I suppose.
>>289729670Well, she already is a cripple...
>>289720013But Israel didn't do holocaust. Oh wait.Psyren aged like fine wine.
>>289721845If you never hope you can never be hurt... right?
thanks for posting thesei liked some parts of the manga, but 1. the end section was really rushed and underwhelming and 2. its too ... generic? for its own good, it never tried anything daring or original in terms of setting, cast, plot or characters. anything, really so its really not as good as I remember it being
>>289716207dumb and unnecessary fake out
>>289716476Up until now, changing the past changed the future. This girl has enough power to literally rip time space and create a timeline to live on. Busted af
>>289717324Yeah but a paradox would've been created the momment they went after the tear. Too late to care about it now but the screwed up future seems to be going fine with No. 7 keeping it from changing
>>289732407Not quite. The coma was a way for the people Ageha had saved in the future to show they were okay, while returning the favor and saving him. It also shows the great power he has still isn’t something so easily used.
>>289732297>genericEspecially the powers.
>>289716861Thank you very much for going all the way, OP.Blogposting time. This was my first read of Psyren, and the only things I knew about the series beforehand was that it was a time travel story, it ranked low in WSJ ToC, and got axed resulting in a somewhat rushed ending. I enjoyed the series overall. But if I were to choose whether to cut Psyren or Medaka Box at the time... Of the two, I'm glad they went with Psyren. It's fine. It had a fairly slow start (especially by modern standards) but the hooks were strong and the whole setup resulted in a cool, mystery box-esque storytelling. The mystery aspect, learning about how the bad future came to be, was my absolute favourite part of the manga. 2nd half let me down somewhat. As for the weaknesses, I'd say the cast was underwhelming in general. In particular, switching the story from focusing on the drifter gang to the grown-up kids left both halves underdeveloped. I felt that the originals had a lot more potential as characters, and their somewhat less standard powers could lead to more inventive fights. The kids were adorable, but weren't particularly interesting as individuals. Their powersets also led to a much more standard shounen writing. Not bad, just kinda disappointing given the setup.Ageha was a very cool protagonist, with more edge than most. His powers development was very well paced, as was his growing drive to protect the people of both timelines. Amamiya was written very competently, and I'm glad the author found time to explore her fully, but somehow I did not find her very... charismatic? She's cool, but I could take her or leave her overall. Miroku was a passable antagonist, I liked the thematic contrast between him being a revolutionary with powers of light and Ageha being a status quo protector with purely destructive darkness powerset. Wish they got to interact more.Matsuri best girl, Oboro best boy, and I'm happy that Hiryu at least got his lover back. Now, onto the light novels...
