Any Genocyber fans?
bump
>>289722190I'm a fan of Elaine!
>>289723215She deserved better
Does the manga seriously end right after she escapes the lab or did I miss something?By the way I love the OVA it reminds me of MD Geist in the sense that it's one of those "continuous escalation of evil" things where each character's evil is revealed by the mere involvement of the protagonist, it's great, there's gotta be some kind of buddhist thing going on there because I think I've seen this in other things that weren't anime
>>289723358It's unique in how humanity itself are the villains, with the monster being the victim. Very Frankenstein Akira mash up.
>>289723279What happen in the end anyway? She merges with her sister into one cute girl?
>>289723397Elaine gets Dianna's cyborg body, becoming the dominant mind with control over the monster.
>>289723387well no that's not a very unique concept, the unique part is moreso how the evil keeps one-upping itself.Like there's other stuff like what you describe, but it's usually trying to make a point, here, the spectacle of evil is the point, it's fucking great
>>289723460Elaine is the sweet one so that's fine.
>>289722190The Fairy Dreaming song is really good.https://youtu.be/-expAd2lVoc
>>28972351680s powerpop man, it's the bestreminded me of some of the songs on the Terminator soundtrack
>>289723215Me too
>>289723684Your autism representation, sir
>>289723544It's before my time but still makes me nostalgic
I don't understand why this anime isn't well known.Has some of the best 90s animation from the OVA boom. Great soundtrack. Does a lot of risk taking with its story telling, showing human depravity being a recurring theme.
>>289722190>Any Genocyber fans? It's on my watch list, but I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet. Not for any good reason mind you, from what I've seen in previews/trailers, it looks a lot like a bunch of other ovas I've already seen and thoroughly enjoyed like Angel Cop, Wicked City, Pet Shop of Horrors, very much another product of its' time.
>>289723279I deserved better than watching this trash.
>>289724798IMO each of the OVA sets are too inconsistent with each other, and the first set is easily the best. I wish we had more of that dark cyberpunk kind of theme instead of going into isolated ship horror and post-apocalypse in the following sets.
>>289725147It honestly seemed like their was a bigger lore behind this that was chopped up in fragments that we only saw pieces of for the OVAs. I always felt their was a bigger story that needed a full series to tell fully.
>>289725084Now is your chance. Also add Wild 7, Mad Bull 34, AD Police and Shoujo Tsubaki to your list.
Spaghetti
>>289727495God she's cute
>>289722190looks like a Dragon Ball movie villain
There was a lot of rape in these OVAs.
>>289723358>Does the manga seriously end right after she escapes the lab or did I miss something? The author simply decided to discontinue the manga after the first volume. It's a mystery to me how this still got an anime adaptation.
>>289728602What? There wasn't.
>>289728666This was back in the days when an OVA could be profitable on its own.
>>289728683Little kid getting his penis fondled in the first few minutes. Dianna getting fingered by her father. Elaine getting felt up by hoodlums.
It was rumoured the 90s OVA market was funded by the yakuza for money laundering.
>>289728751That explains a lot
>>289728732I thought you meant rape rape
Such a cool design for a monster.
>>289729562I remember being into this and guyver for designs
