I guess this is a good enough thread as any to state the thesis that increased censorship has led to exaggerated proportions in more recent anime. They can no longer appeal to the audience by just showing the girls nude, so they go for increasingly bombastic figures and appealing to the sort of fanciful fetishes characteristic of the sexually-repressed.
