I don't spoil plot points, just how the story structure works, which might take away some of the magic. It's that it continues to improve throughout its course, right to the end. The world becomes more alive, as characters become reoccurring and are given agency and motivations of their own. And the final trick up DM's sleeve is the end, where it'll hit you how strongly Kui manages to pull all threads together and tie it into the manga's initial main premise, hunger and consumption, and how, in hindsight, she did so for the entirety of the manga.
