Crazy how shit animation is today compared to the late 90s and early 2000s. Vampire hunter d bloodlust was kino too.

inb4 >but those were ovas.
Still 100 times better quality than modern ovas and regular anime back then was better animated too. Are there any modern anime that even come close or is it impossible now that its all computer generated zogslop

You haven't watched a single old TV anime, and it shows.
The average modern movie looks better too, Koike alone shits on every single example you've mentioned.
I mean, even modern indie animators are better than the entire cel industry combined.

Oshii, Kon, et.al. make anime for people who like live action movies and are too scared to say they like animation

modern anime sacrificed visual quality for writing quality
the average isekai is better written than Patlabor 2, every OVA or Bloodlust (this one makes sense though since the Vampire Hunter D novels are Japan's Twilight, LN-tier slop written for women)
