why is the pool of anime dub voice actors so small? it seems like every actor in an anime dub has been in 50-100 other anime. i would understand if these were actors in MOVIES, where they are sought after for their talent or fame, but most anime dub voice actors are 1) talentless as fuck 2) not famous at all. why don't they just look for new, more talented voice actors? because every anime dub is unmatchably bad because of the voice acting.it's literally like this meme.https://youtu.be/K-alVW-ldyA?obviously this is a little bit exaggerated, but can you imagine if anime dubs had the same quality voice acting as most (non-cartoon) western television has acting? idk.

>>289758852Anime US industry crashing in 2008 due to them overflowing the market with DVDs no one cared about which lead to most anime licensors going under making dubs only being done in a few areas vs the much wider range back then. Most anime dubs now are done in Texas or California with some still done in New York rarely but most work is done in Texas. We don't hear the Canadian, UK or NY VAs anymore also studios are too cheap to pay for unions actors like how Ghost In The Shell 2026 lacks the original cast even though someone like Richard Epcar is a legend of voice acting. They rather hire cheap younger talent which also what you hear as the old VA are fizzled out or moved to games/cartoons like Chrispin Freeman.Obama ruined everything.
