>>289794676A story saying it's about a girl and her friends fighting evil, but needing her crush / boyfriend to actually finish the job for them all the time, would totally undermine the core message about girls being able to grow and become strong on their own, and would instead be telling the viewers they should latch onto a handsome older guy if they want to get anywhere in life. Tuxedo Mask helps out in fights about half the time, at least in the first arc, and when he does he either throws a rose to get them out of a bind and offers up a hint on the enemy's weakness, or holds off an enemy when there's 2 or 3 of them in the same fight. Its so ingrained in the Western mindset that men should take care of everything for women, that a mundane guy taking an assisting role for a team of superpowered girls would across to them as he "didn't do anything."
