I see people on /ic/ spend years getting down basic art skills and here we have people coming up with dozens of different designs, story, dialogue, character work, etc...and then sustain it for years. For me that's mind boggling. Even something as low brow as Naruto requires skills that us plebs could only dream of.

>>289808800Comic book publishers have industry connections. Once a comic book artist signs a contract with one, becoming a full-time artist, the publisher will pay them a salary. If an artist feels they cannot maintain the serialization alone, they can request additional staff from the publisher. The publisher will provide one or even ten assistants to share the workload, depending on the artist's needs. However, these assistants' monthly salaries are not paid by the publisher, but by the artist. These artists form teams of varying sizes based on the popularity of their work and their own financial resources. The vast majority of comic book artists work as a team, rather than solo.
