#Chapter 7
The End
>>289840132war crimes
>>289840132Thanks
>>289839402What do we think? Feels like it's come into its own a little more compared to the start. I think this manga will go places.
>>289840915I have mixed feelings about the manga. On one side, it has been very consistent in its pacing, always adding more details about the world, its creatures and its factions, and the powers and mechas have been cool as fuck (except on their names, which are Kiyoshi-tier noise); but the portrait of action is mostly average and Bharat and Ur still don't seem to have a "big motivation" to hook people into reading the manga.
>>289840915>Feels like it's come into its ownfor me it's the opposite. Too much fighting, too little character or world exploring.
>>289840915I'm liking it but it's starting to make me wonder why we have the kid
>>289840132Go beat him old man!
>>289843505This
>>289839742Oh they're gonna get a mech soon too.
Really liking how this last few chapters have shown the individual strength of the master.A duel of wind users is an interesting idea for a first real fight against a thinking being.
>>289843505His only role im the story so far is to be used to bruteforce through a barrier and glazing bharat
>>289840132uhh, people are inside the giant monster things? Okie dokie, while I don't think its found it's footing yet, it's still a solid time so far.
>>289851379The mechasaurs are semi-sentient vehicles that were used by demons for combat during the war and left in "autopilot" after losing. Those mechas can consume humans as fuel, but without a pilot they seem to be just giant violent beasts that roam without a goal.
>>289851770thanks for elaborating that for me. Wish the manga would just choose one of those paths for the mechasaurs instead of all of them at once. Still think they look dope tho
>>289840086>>289840132For once, seems like Bharat won't need Ur for motivation.
>>289853126The editor probably told the author to make Bharat "cooler" and focus less on Ur.
>>289853388Shouldn't the editors notice these things sooner
>>289840915I still hate the obnoxious kid, everything would be better without him desu.
>>289853388more like ur got added by the editor and the author don't really knows what to do with him so he is just developing the real MC as intended.
>>289856437His last oneshot had a teen boy exorcist and a 5000yo ikemen demon as protagonists. He probably wanted to do the reverse (old man hunter and shotafied beast) but was told to make heavy changes by the editorial. Bharat's personality in the first chapter was completely different from the one he has now. Also lel at this comment from the nips.
>>289856712>>289853388but why would the editor want to make the story less shota-centric and more >bharatfocused? Ur is more marketable as a cute shota, than >bharatis as an ikemen
>>289843505>>289846376>>289839742I'm pretty sure Ur will become the mech
>>289856920My theory is that Ur's reception in the first episode was so poor (according to whatever internal metrics they use) that the editor suggested shifting the focus more toward Bharat, who received a more positive response, at least online, which is why he's the only one everyone has been talking about in these last few episodes.>Ur is more marketable as a cute shota, than Bharat is as an ikemenIt depends a lot on the target demographic. WSJ has always favored teens and young adults (the magazine's primary audience) as protagonists, specially in action manga, while shotas predominate in magazines aimed at younger children like CoroCoro. Both of CM's main characters are a oddity compared to the rest of the current lineup, but the editor may feel that Bharat has more potential because he is more mature and has a more "normal" appearance than Ur.>>289857199That would be cool, but I think he'll have the power to control other mechasaurs or "absorb" them like Megaman/Kirby.
>>289857295>he'll have the power to control other mechasaurs or "absorb" them like Megaman/Kirby.I think that would be perfect without Bharat. With him there that takes away too much agency from him and makes it weird having pilot cabins on the mechs and the magic enhancement they provide but no magic user piloting it. Unless Bharat keeps one for himself. But that adds another ball for the author to juggle with.Ur firing lasers and doing his own magic while enhancing Bharat's magic (maybe not even becoming a huge mech) isn't necessarily better but seems like a simpler and more natural path for the author as it fits better with the first chapter, this one and the AoTish imagery he seems to be drawing
