When's the last time you actually paid for an anime?
>>289856528Hokuto no Ken
>>2898565282011
>>289856528I bought $300 worth of figurines in 2018 so that means I never have to pay for anime ever again
>>289856528I have never paid for anime and I've been pirating it for almost 30 years.I've bought several raw manga volumes though to support the manga, but also because I've worked on scanlations so I kind of feel like it was some kind of reward. But anime and manga are so different, manga need every sale it can get to not get axed, anime doesn't matter and the money goes to jews.

Crack coded thread
>>289856528Ive paid for every anime I've watched because I'm not a terrible person and respect the creators
>>289856528When that new Kinnikuman 2024 anime came out on Netflix, I wanted for it to be successful. So I bought the sub, the mid-tier FullHD one. I've never used Netflix before, so I was SHOCKED when I got to know that you can't even watch in FHD quality on a PC, unless you use Chrome/Edge or install their Microsoft store app.Fuck that. The sub only lasted one time/month, before I switched to pirating it. I hope at least some part of those 10 dollars made it into the studio/publisher.
>>289856528Over a decade ago
Shit, I'd pirate food water and shelter if I could.
>>289856528i saw the Bleach movie in the theater a few weeks agoit was a mistake
>>289856528I don't like Cracking anime myself
>>289856528If you mean paid to watch, I have not once ever paid to watch. I did buy some light novels for a series I enjoy but that's it.
I bought the Hidamari Sketch and Patlabor bluray box sets a couple years ago. For manga I just bought some earlier today.
>>289856528If you don't count merch like figures, model kits and roleplay toys?Never.
>>289856528I only paid for doujin I hate so I can burn them.
The amount of money I've spent on anime is 1/1=0$
>>289856528Would people be interested in a torrent tracker website kinda like nyaa, but that hosted non illegal otaku content? At least not super illegal. Meaning not anime or music or manga, but everything else around otaku/anime that can be creative, like MMD models or for archiving video collections from Idolmaster in case Youtube channgels get deleted, idk. Maybe drawing tools
>>289856528Never. If you paid, you got scammed.
>Japan doesn't get any money beyond a licensing fee from companies like crunchyroll>If these companies go under official subs will just get replaced with AI subs and Japan will continue to not care about foreignersI bought the Soul Eater OST at a weeb convention 15 years ago.
>>289856647>glowie threadin case you haven't noticed 90 percent of the posters on /a/ are shills now
>>289856528The new dragon ball broly movie in theaters
>>289858905So statistically you're a shill. Why should I believe you?
>>289856528I paid to watch Watanare and Mushoku Tensei. I just love anime with harem so much
>>289856528I never paid for anime in my life.
>>289856528The movie theatre
>>289856528Nobody uses piratebay
>>289856528When I saw Watanare in theater last year

>>289856528Does paying to watch anime movies in theaters count?
Why do they keep making this kuso thread every single day?
>>289856528Paying for anime? All anime is free. Except for Netflix shit I guess.I at most use a free Japanese VPN to get official free streaming.Oh, right, translations are not free because of the extra cost. But thankfully I learned Japanese.
>>289856528I only pay for haremkino
Had a Crunchyroll subscription 2 years back.It kept crashing everytime I watched an installment of Kara no Kyoukai, tho (at least after the third film), so I have yet to renew it..
>>2898565282017, they don't sell blu rays locally in my place anymore
i still use my mom's netflix sub
>>289856528like 5 years ago when i found a dvd copy of bludgeoning angel dokuro-chan
>>289856528who'd pay for an anime..It's for free on TV...
Anime is released for free on the internet and television. You're supposed to buy merch, not buy anime, unless you want to support local dubs or some gay shit like that
>>289856528Probably when I was at college in 2010 and there was a guy selling cheap dvds and I think I bought the street fighter movie. Unless you count movie tickets, in which case I saw Look Back in theaters
>>2898565282 months ago, found a pretty good deal on a 2nd hand movie. Wish it was always this easy to find parents selling the belongings of their anhero'd children.
>>289856528I saw Princess Mononoke in IMAX a bit ago. Wouldn't recommend, it's not built for it.
>>289856528I paid for every haremkino

2004I buy manga occasionally tho
>>289856528I bought the blu rays for the evangelion movies. I would also buy the bd for rezero and other anime if they came with the same benefits like in japan (extra light novels etc) but they never do so I don't bother.
>>289856528Japs watch anime for free on tv, why the fuck should I pay for it?
>>289856528Third-party? I bought a collector's edition blu-ray for The Woman Called Fujiko Mine on eBay in 2024 because I heard it came with an art book. Unfortunately, the "art book" was just a shitty little pamphlet, and the seller neglected to mention that the disc only contained the second half of the series, so I'd have to buy another one if I wanted the full thing. I'm still kind of bitter about that. First-party? I bought the Otaku no Video BD rerelease that AnimeEigo did back in 2016. It came with a lot of fun physical extras, like a translated manga and development book, a pinup poster of Misty May and some promo art, and an iron-on badge also with Misty May on it. It was kind of expensive at the time, but ten years on I'm glad I grabbed it while I could. Not anime, but I also bought a DVD of the movie Party7 on eBay in 2021 or so because I couldn't find a good torrent of it online. Not worth it at all except for the Peter Chung-animated intro.
just for the fuck of it, I bought season 1 of Mob Psycho on Steam that one time they tried doing that (before quickly giving up completely). I think it was 2017more recently I went to the movie theater to watch One Piece Film Red with my brother. had a pretty good time
>>289856528I bought a blu ray from ebay, the Japanese audio track didn't work
>>289858702you mean like archive.org?
>>289856528I bought the DVDs for FMP FOMOFFU in 2006 or so?My roommate lost one of the discs. I'm convinced his girlfriend got mad at him jerking to the fanservice episode or something and broke it.

>>289856528My mom has a Crunchyroll subscription which she uses to watch trash shoujos between binging K-dramaslop. I've used the account a couple times. Does that count?
>>289867869>>289865609>>289864470Japanese people pay the NHK fee though
>>289856528if you don't count going to the movies, never lmao
>>289868362our TV is not free either, retardo
>>289856528I exclusively pay for anime that shows nipples
>>289868506>we pirate anime and pay tax, while the Japs can pirate neighbours or some shit and pay taxThat's actually a lot more fair than I expected, thank you anon. I feel like I learned something opening this thread.
