Why did it succeed to become a phenomenon the way Frieren did?

If "someone" sees this thread, "she" will get very mad at this thread and flood it with samefag shitposts.

No. Based on my western normalfag metrics on other sites, which are pretty reliable, it's nowhere close. Based on nip watch numbers it fell off pretty hard by the end too. I don't think anyone cares about it at all now that's it's over. I'm sure people will make threads here for another few seasons before forgetting it ever happened.

Frieren has the advantage that its first chapter/episode is *extremely* strong. The rest of the story is fine, but for a long time it is really just riding on the coattail of that amazing opening and the emotional weight that it carried.

WHA is very good, but it takes much longer to reach its heights. Its start is by no means bad, and the anime does an excellent adaptation of it, but even as someone who loves the manga I think that it doesn't really become something truly special until the Silver Eve arc, and thats pretty deep into the manga.

Dungeon Meshi has a similar problem, where you have to wait until one of the later turning points in the manga before you really get a sense of how special the manga is beyond its initial (albeit creative) gimmick.

For people with low attention spans, Frieren hits harder faster.
