>first OP is amazing
>get to the 2nd cour of a show
>new OP sucks
Why is this allowed?
>>
first OP is specifically made for the anime
second OP is just whatever song they can get

MIKU CUTE

The real question is why does this happen 99% of times...
>>
They're drunk on the success of the first OP then try to ride the success by picking whatever is popular with the normalfags with no good singing capabilities and so it ends up being shit
>>
>OP1 sucks
>OP2 is way better
>OP1 still somehow becomes the leitmotif of the series

>Medalist 1st OP
>Kenshi Yonezu is allegedly a big fanboy of the manga and even volunteered to write an OP for the anime adaptation
>Medalist 2nd OP
>lol Kpop

The second OP grew on me slightly but it was a baffling choice. Manaka’s skating style is probably the only one that fits the song but she wasn’t relevant to the plot outside of being just another girl for Inori to defeat.

Felt this way about the dungeon meshi openings.
>>
All OPs suck, they're just excuses to animate less of total slot meant for the show

it's seniority rights, first gets leitmotif or plays during the final episode
