Has an anime ever successfully convinced you to buy a product or engage in whatever activity it was pushing? Pic related, she sold me on buying a Suzuki.

It probably wore me down over time in various anime but I can look at Puniru as the big push that got me to try a cream soda, and I got it as a proper thing like you would get at a real Japanese cafe.
I have never actually gotten to try it but Gabriel dropout really makes me want to try melon bread

Outside food if we don't count regular traditional merch then there's an edge case with Alice Gear Aegis, which was already a gacha and model kit line (not totally clear what came first) which got me to buy a kit, twice actually because I wanted the anime original protagonist but she didn't have one so I brought another, then a week later they announced her. this in theory works out because I get one straight away and then another later when the protagonist released, but in practice i've got a pile of unfinished projects and being halfway through the first girl is one of them, haven't even gotten the protag out of the shipping box (deliberately to avoid having yet another project on the go, but I forgot I had done so and locked it away in a rarely open cupboard so I thought she never arrived for some reason)

one anime did get me to try and try a gacha, Magatsu Wahrheit: Zuerst, but my phone was never gonna be able to handle it so I tried using emulators but was never able to get past the title screen, by the time I had any sort of hardware that could run it it was too late, I think the game had little in common with the anime anyway for spoiler reasons with the anime being a prequel, I suspect the studio was just told do whatever the fuck you want and tie this in at the end somehow

but has some moe anime about some hobby ever gotten my to pick up the hobby? no

I'm a horribly fussy eater and wish I wasn't and that's one of the things I would be really keen to try if my palate wasn't so sub childish, but I just know it being slightly weird I would vomit before it even reached my mouth, at least I'm less horrible with beverages, neither as fussy and better at at least getting things I am iffy about on my tongue and usually down my throat
>>
>>289864286
I convinced my workplace to get in on that
>>289867294
oh I forgot to mention, the cream soda was just ok
>>
>>289865003
I did but with my fussy eating I was disappointed when I opened it up and realized it's not like western ones where it's 2 or more pouches and you can pick and choose what parts you put in, it was all just loose
maybe if I found a flavor that was only things I would eat, the one I brought was the original

i'm not a functionally retarded person like everyone else who watches anime, so no. i have the capability to decide and act on those decisions completely independently of foreign influence. it's a very cool thing that requires minimal education and effort and is a prerequisite to self actualization. someday i hope you can all gain that level of independence yourselves!

Even though I probably enjoy anime and manga the most as a medium, looking over the series I've rated the highest, none of it has really had a substantial impact on my perspective or habits (aside from spurring me on to funpost on /a/

I started weightlifting after watching/reading Danberu (I've stuck with it since) and Akagi got me to learn mahjong. As for media that has got me to change my perspective on things in an emotional sort of way, that has been mostly relegated to VNs.
>>289861948
For me, it was reading Bakuon Rettou that really got me wanting to get my license. I still want to get a gs1000g so I can really larp as my favourite motorcycle manga (I ride a honda atm)

Umineko instead, but Saya and Mimei also have been ones that have had pretty strong impacts on me. I'm not particularly a fan of nakige, so I haven't really dove into any Key ones

I played Mahjong for a while after reading Ten.
I decided to do a small trip around the Izu peninsula when I went to Japan because I had seen some cool spots in Yuru Camp, but I ended up going to different places there, but I still went to some that appeared on the show (pic related, on Mt Omuro).

>What effect did this have on you?
To put it (somewhat) briefly, I think the biggest thing that has stayed with me is how it approaches ideas of emotional connections. For example, Fuminori is clearly throwing away a lot in pursuit of his feelings for Saya. He very much understands that what he is doing is not normal (I'm solely talking about falling in love with her right now) but he makes the decision that, at some point, it is worth pursuing his own feelings instead of shying away from them in order to align more with how things "ought to be." Saya is introduced as a sort of "false comfort" being the only person he can see as human, which we and him eventually understand is just a facade, but the feelings he develops are still genuine. How do you approach real feelings towards a fictional (fake or misleading) subject? Contrasting the reality of a scene with ones perception of it and making a determination of which is "more right" is a pretty major focus of the novel.
When I first read the VN well over a decade ago, I remember it feeling very comforting and very romantic. What is happening is gruesome and horrifying, but there is something that makes me feel peaceful. It wasn't until reading it through more times (and becoming very anti-social in college) that I was able to realize it was this approach to love and loneliness that really resonated with me.
Hopefully this makes sense to you. I think that if you're also a person who struggles with connecting to people and finds themself seeking comfort elsewhere, you'll at least be able to glean something from the story. All these years later, it is still a VN that is very special to me, so I have a lot of thoughts about it.
