author likes to subvert the expectation in this manga just like how she speedran the timeline since cultural festival ended. it took only 13 chapters from october (when cultural festival ended) to april (the start of their 2nd year).
ordinary romcom mangaka would fill tons of fillers because there's so much you could do in those 6 months just to show there's some progress between the cast no matter how mundane it is. but in here, those 6 months felt more like checklist of what the students usually experienced during that time (exams, valentine and white day) + hebi's problem with the pedo.
honestly i'm not sure why the author hurried so much, you'd think it's the kind of pace for the manga about to get axed but in the end it's getting an anime adaptation.

It's got some pros and cons, ultimately in typical fashion, I think her scheme here was to drive Moe and Kusunoki apart but it might actually end up saving their friendship as opposed to Moe seeing ti herself later.

I think what will really break Hebi is if she sees or overhears Moe and Kusunoki talking about their feelings Keisuke but agreeing to not let it harm their friendship then Hebi will catch her own feelings for Keisuke and then it all comes crashing down when Hebi makes Kusunoki cry and Keisuke is there to witness it, in order for the story to move forward, Hebi needs to understand that not everyone has a dark side, she needs her worldview to be smashed to bits in order for the healing to begin.
