I bothered to watch this anime since you guys were watching and discussing it, and honestly? Part of me wishes i hadn’t. The MC is actually great, he’s like the truest representation of a morally great character. The characters overall are pretty good, too. I also like that the fighting isn’t dumb shonen bullshit. Sadly, I think the ending was mediocre, and the quality was seriously bad in a lot of instances. I think you guys only liked this because you wanted to fuck the schoolgirls.

Even with Braves who generally know better, there's an undercurrent of people being rather childish by playing an equivalent to Magic: The Gathering in bars. There's a kind of childish immaturity at play for almost every character. The Ainu drug lord might be one of the only exceptions, as he simply lives in a way to embrace and continue his long-imperiled culture. He's also out on the fringes and wouldn't be exposed to many LNs and the like.Also, the dark lords clearly look like LARPing losers dressed in cheap wizard robes in modern buildings. Some buildings are pretty lousy too, like the Count of Thorns' HQ.

Yuusha no Kuzu did a good job of writing Yashiro's mental compartmentalizations and how he'd have to quickly and carefully navigate certain thoughts and what to say both for himself and to not distract or discourage the girls. The girls wearing those dresses none the wiser for several episodes also added to the simultaneously fucked up yet humorous setting and tone of the story.

Sara's fangs also contribute to the lion look, and her using them to bite in the second season's last fight gives an extra thematic milestone to her growth as a Brave.

Arthur could use it as an excuse to yank Sara out of the training or storm Ed's bar at any time, disingenuously accusing them of harboring a major criminal. The second season also ends at a point where it feels like Arthur would be willing to do whatever it took to get back to trying his "sponsored" cartel plan again, and knowing his selected dark lord is alive would provide an easy opportunity to resume business as usual. The rest of the cartel (at least with a Half-Dragon tie) roaming free in the ending despite how easy it'd be to arrest them post-fights gave me the impression that Arthur chose to put them right back on the street. If the Count was left beaten up in the skyscraper too, Arthur would have probably just had her selling E3 within a week. In light of Yashiro already figuring out Arthur was Half-Dragon, the way he chose to fulfill Aki's request to jail the Count seemed to be based on a full awareness that Arthur wouldn't send any other Braves to arrest her and would probably get in the way of the police. For the makeshift prison sentence to work, I figured there was a cover story that the Count was killed in the tower raid. It'd be too easy for Arthur to claim custody over the matter, "jail" the Count for two seconds, and then send her back on the street otherwise.Of course, this all falls apart if Sara doesn't know her dad is Half-Dragon yet and casually mentions something about it. Even the Count of the Venusian Veil, who committed enough to the gimmick to build a full novelty castle in Hokkaido, is portrayed like an insipid brat for building a fantasy castle he probably saw as a kid while his daily "business" kills a lot of real kids in the north, such as Indou's friends. Also, even with his full castle, most of the Veil count's fighting takes place in the experimentation and database room where he poignantly sticks out like a sore thumb. Wit and maturity are rare in the setting, and the more a character has their shit together, the less of that chuuni stuff they wear and partake in.

You should look up old pulp magazines, that's literally what this is an equivalent up.
