I think what bugs me is that the show is really, really uninteresting visually. I get it's a slice of life romance comedy so that sort of limits how dynamic you can make things but it's all just so flat. Practically every scene is shot/drawn in a completely stationary forward facing way. Either direct side view or forward view with nothing else interesting in focus.
