Every so often there's a western property that japan likes enough to get essentially adopted by them and turned into a manga or some other JP specific content, and I find that precious

It's weird how it's always something tranny coded like undertale

>>290070273Kaufmo is that one friend in a group who's kind of liked by everyone, but doesn't really have strong impact on a group and if by chance he's missing no one notices his absence
For most part it's just marketing. Hiring an artist and getting a publication spot somewhere doesn't cost that much. Only a few brands like Harlequin or Stitch go beyond that.
>>290069718They sold Figma at Animate on pre-order
I hope they produce some nice doujinshi
>>290070031He's trans and is the creator's avatar.
>>290066894>likes enoughIts astroturfed. TADC Is supported by Amazon and Disney.
>>290066894Unrelated but I always secretly kind of wished this would happen with Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, a JP dub of the 2022 TV series would be absolutely godlike. I can almost voice cast it in my head.

>>290071450I’m pretty sure Japan loved Zootopia
>>290066894I watched this show against my better judgment on a recommendation and all it really did was reinforce the image of how literally gay western media is now, and how much I hate modern internet culture.
>>290069706Totally...
>>290075172Not surprised, they love cutesy Disney furry shit and probably just that.
I can’t believe they fucked up the ending so bad it killed all interests in the show.
>>290077656The ending itself is fine, it's the tertiary material that's causing havoc and diluting the effect of the actual ending. People are obsessed with a version of a character that doesn't exist, discarding the one that does and rejecting reality to substitute in the one they like more.
>>290078225>The ending itself is fineIt's not.https://youtu.be/F9CGFhmdmkA?si=HwtkQcLDhynIGYPi
>>290066894An animation shows us that the next member of the Digital Circus will be a guy that looks a lot like Pomni. Pomni immediately falls in love with him, and so does Ragatha, which causes them to compete for his love
>>290078522I am NOT clicking that. Use your words or don't bother replying.
>>290078225The ending is bad and the creator proved themselves to be a petty retard.
>>290078908The ending is fine but yes, Gooseworx should stay off social media. Like I said, tertiary material is causing havoc, not the show itself.
>>290078980No, the ending was poorly written and gave a lot of focus on a character that didn't need it, it didn't really answer any questions, and was overall just a mess.
>>290079586>No, the ending was poorly written and gave a lot of focus on a character that didn't need itExploring the nature of human psyche is the entire point of the series, and exploring that of someone who we knew, and is now gone, was the point there. >it didn't really answer any questionsYeah it did, what? I can't think of anything that wasn't reasonably answered.
>>290079674>Yeah it did, what? I can't think of anything that wasn't reasonably answered.Kinger's wife?
>>290080671What about her? She abstracted long ago.
>>290079674I think the part inside the fuckass rabbit's mind was fine, but the justification the plot contrives for him to die makes the entire cast look retarded for letting it happenmind you that there's 6 people in the whole world, no one needs to work, eat, sleep or do errands, and if anyone gets depressed enough they turn into a terrifying monster that hunts everyone else down and can only be dealt with by the AI overlord they had just dispatchedso what do they do? they scatter and let the known suicide risk get out of everyone's sight
>>290069792>something tranny codedLike all anime?
>>290080876Pomni mentioned that she regretted not reaching out more that day, but it's hard to be there for someone else when you're going through a tough time too. She couldn't help Jax until she got help herself, and by that time it was too late.
>>290081074Clearly she was too busy with her "standing still in an empty hallway and staring straight ahead" activities
>>290081251You mean like how she then walked over to Kinger and then broke down from the stress? Freezing up when panicking isn't uncommon.
>>290079674I don't know if we ever got a clear answer as to why a bunch of people from different backgrounds all wound up having their minds copied into the computer at multiple points. Say it's up to interpretation, sure, but the real issue is that the actual answers weren't satisfying. For most of the series the characters have no agency. We get hints here and there but they don't bother trying to learn anything about the world they're in until the very end, and it wasn't even because of their own initiative. It was Caine puppeteering them into it, just like always. And when Caine is gone in the final episode and they finally get their answers, it changes literally nothing.Half the last episode is about the worst character in the series and all we learn is that when given the chance to connect with others he just chose to be a piece of shit because "muh trauma" but they forgive him so whatever. The ending is just "nothing happens and everyone is happy", but if all you care about is the character's relationships and emotions and shit like that, I guess I can see why you'd be satisfied with the ending.
>>290080876Pretty understand, the TADC friend group is extremely shitty to each other for no real reason>No one does anything to help Gangle with her Jax bullying problem until out of the blue Zooble realizes Gangle has feelings>Pomni discovers that Kinger can become lucid when he's in the dark but decides to tell no one this and for whatever reason fails to explain herself when she puts a bucket over Kinger's head and delays everyone's "opportunity to leave">Pomni falls for Jax for no reason and defends him from Ragatha's venting even though Jax actively insults her to her face>Jax attempting to systematically kill everyone because he's severally mentally ill>Ribbit kills herself because Jax was being weird to her>Ragatha claims to want to save Pomni from Jax but is so limp wristed in her attempts that she never brings up what happened with Ribbit even though she hates Jax and would be the last person she'd want to People PleaseWhy are the only people besides Kaufmo, Kinger and his OG group to end up in the TADC mentally ill and terrible
>>290081525>I don't know if we ever got a clear answer as to why a bunch of people from different backgrounds all wound up having their minds copied into the computer at multiple pointsMost of them make some sense (Ragatha was giving the building a look-over as a realtor, Kinger was there for the initial testing run of the headset, Pomni and Zooble were into urban exploration, Jax was homeless and crashed at the building), but Mask girl literally got isekai'd by truck-kun and this was never expanded on or explained
>>290081525>And when Caine is gone in the final episode and they finally get their answers, it changes literally nothing. No? Did you even watch it? Their main gripe to Caine was that he wasn't addressing their needs, only satisfying his own hedonism, which lead to distress and frequent abstractions. He never let them process things and was always throwing them into stressful high-octane adventures. They can't die, but they can still feel pain.At the ending Caine relinquishes control over to them, allowing them to do as they see fit. Like they've always wanted. Which helped them to process and accept their living situation instead of panicking and going insane trying to escape it. "Meaning within futility", which is the main theme of the series.

>>290077656>>290078225>>290078522>>290078908>wildly popular IP gets a shitty endingThis surely isn't your first rodeo if you've followed any of the more popular manga of the last 10 years. Also, QRD for people who don't watch this?
>>290086480>Also, QRD for people who don't watch this?kinda hard to explain accurately if you haven't watched it
>>290086480It started out as the usual aimless indie animation where stuff kind of just happens because it's set in a simulation so AI overlord can setup whatever scenario. It goes on like this for a while with wacky~* humor with the occasional human moment for characters before it switches gears and focuses on the most loved and hated character (bunny guy) who is just a shitty person with the only redeemable quality being people think he's hot. Think tumblr sexy man.Creator reveals said character is actually trans the only sign of which is that in a scene where bunny man is emotionally vulnerable a literal pink bow is put on him.
>>290086480It's a story about a bunch of people trapped inside silly avatars in a goofy circus themed digital world with with no idea of how they got there. An AI named Caine controls everything and puts them all through absurd torturous "adventures" every day. Nobody can die but some break under the pressure and end up "abstracting", which is treated as suicide but is basically them turning into mindless monsters. The only characters that are actually important to the plot progression in the end are:Caine, the AI.Kinger, one of the devs of the circus.Jax, who's just an asshole but he's part of the reason a lot of people disliked the ending.Pomni, the newest arrival and main character.Around 80% of the show is them getting thrown around by Caine's whims until a way out is teased by introducing an supposed old colleague of Kinger, only for it to be revealed that he was an NPC and Caine fooled them because he figured since they want to escape the circus so much, maybe they'd enjoy an escape themed adventure. They react very negatively and Caine, who's been been only apathetic to their suffering so far, now becomes malicious. They get Kinger to use his dev knowledge to try and modify Caine, but he ends up accidentally deleting him. With access to the code, the finale starts with them dealing with the revelation that they're just copies in a computer and there's no way out. They mope around until Jax abstracts. Pomni manages to connect with him, and over half of the episode is centered around his trauma and how shitty he was to his friends in the circus, which ended up making them abstract. He calms down and they put him in an enclosure. Then it turns out Caine wasn't really deleted but instead was sent into some faraway limbo where he realizes how mean he's been. He returns to the circus, reveals to them the whole truth about their identities and the people they are outside, and promises to be nice from now on. Everyone tries their best to be happy. The end.
>>290087369its really a deep allegory for late stage capitalism under a fascist technocracy
>>290070031It's funny
>>290066894I never watched this show but I jacked off a lot to Pomni and Ragatha
>>290066894I don't get the appeal.
