Is this any good? The animation is slideshow-tier and the characters look ugly, but the setting seems interesting.

You might get turned off by the shitty Polygon Pictures CGI but there's definitely something to be had there. At the very least it does something with its' sci-fi premise, but it also falls into a "nothing ever happens" phase where we meander without a real ending.

OP here, no clue what you guys are all talking about, but I did decide to stick with the series and I'm halfway through the first season. I just wanted to say is that I loved the part where the MC and Hoshijiro are stranded in space. I've watched lots of mecha/sci-fi anime and very rarely are there any similar moments like this that feel... real. In this sequence outer space was more than just a backdrop for the action. It impressed me.
