I've got so invested in this manga that last night I even dreamed of reading a completely made up chapter where Vincent explains what really happened to Ciel and his family that night.I don't remember the details, but basically Vincent was part of the cult that used Ciel to summon a demon and he actually raised him to be a sacrifice from the cery beginning. Vincent knew the queen discovered his ties with the occult and had planned to send her butlers to dispose of him soon, so he faked his death (his wife and house staff died for real tho) to escape from the queen and kidnapped Ciel to continue with his rituals. The night Sebastian appeared and killed the other cult members, Vincent was observing from afar so he got away with it (and since he wasn't technically involved in that specific sacrifice Sebastian ignored him). Also Tanaka was Vincent' informant (he survived the attack on the manor to keep an eye on the upper world, and later on Ciel after he survived and made a pact with Sebastian) all this time.Of course, this autistic headcanon only makes sense when you ignore most of what happened in reality.
