So a little scrawny Japanese girl faces you, but she has what is very obviously a magic blade. You do not know how it works, but you know she must have used to before because she is very confident to face you. Do you take your chances? Most of your soldiers are really just here for food and loot, they will abandon you in a second if it turns out she actually is some kind of magic warrior. This kind of superstitious thinking over magic, spells, and warriors has changed medieval battles more than one would think throughout history despite the fact anyone educated can see it's bologna. Good luck convincing your bandits/peasants into thinking that when you see pic related, a woman covered in sleeve tattoos, advancing with her sword like she's actually covered in a magic spell.
