The whole Ippo retirement/punch drunk arc was a mistake. Either fully commit to Ippo having brain damage and settling down with his gf, or have him continue on as a boxer. This will he/won't he bullshit has taken up years of work and the whole "leaves his gf at the hospital at her lowest moment" was terrible.

Ippo really showed he is a coward with zero conviction or empathy. Dunno how Japs took that chapter but I bet they made excuses for Ippo for acting like terrible person.
