The mountain attracts people who want to resign from their role in society. Mikoma is a special case because he's there for different reasons, the safety mountain represents can be shared but Mayu hurt Miko by making Taiki compromise the place where both of them were safely vulnerable. It's because Miko has a deep-seated hatred for his masculinity. We see it when he makes fun of Roka, and when he's learning about Taiki's past. Miko is symbol for toxic masculinity, Momiji is symbol for toxic feminity. Characters like Kazuma and his ex wife represent how both are dependent on each other to fulfill their needs but fallout is hurtful for others involved like Roka. Miko by no definition is a bad character, he's just sensitive and impulsive. Roka knows this and he can see Momiji wants to tear apart Mikoma's character so that she can too freely deny her own feminine role. She sees Miko as everything the mountain doesn't represent. Someone who is into her but looks down on her, won't confess but he will make moves on her, even when he's moving on, it's about her, leaving her behind. It's painful for both of them, and it's going in only one direction, I don't have to spell it out for you.

Since it's confirmed that now four people desire the mountain, I'm just thinking about the dynamics of the mountain four now and thinking is it at all possible for all four of these fools to get what their escape with this mountain.From oldest to newest:>MikomaUsed the mountain as his main form of escape and a connection to his grandfather.
