Even before Wano, there are so many arcs that should've been cut like Punk Hazard, Thriller Bark and so forth. Hell even Fishman's island arc is pretty bad and absolutely unwatchable in anime. I know like 3 people who dropped the anime between Fishman's Island and Dressrosa.
Wano was great but for most people it's just way too convoluted to follow properly.

I'm still all for having at least one very long term story in the industry but One Piece really hits that too long mark for me. I've dropped Elbaf twice by now even if it's not too bad compared to some horrendous arcs

I think it has its ups and downs now, Zou was great and the tea party was kino.
But many parts are boring, predictable or needlessly stretched out. After the tea party with all its twists and turns we got like 50 chapters of running, luffy getting his ass whooped and sanji taking forever to make the cake.
By comparison, pre-timeskip pretty much every chapter was fun, very few low points overall.
