>>290363548I doubt I speak for the majority, but as a character she compliments Subaru very well and brings out the best out of him( and Subaru does the same for her), which is showcased in arc 3 when she stuck by his side and belived in him despite Subaru feeling abandoned by everyone else. So it's not a surprise that her words in "From Zero" become the foundation of his heroic identity, and Subaru has her be one of his priorities in more than one way. While a bit rough it's still pretty obvious that in arc 7 it was intentional to have amnesiac Rem give Subaru the cold shoulder yet have him still pursue her because he values her that much and have her question what he sees in her, and ultimately still fall for him due to his actions, doing a role reversal basically of Rem pursuing Subaru in arc 3 where she similarly won him over by the end.
