I'd say the most compact core is Lucky Star, Haruhi, Bakemonogatari, Steins;Gate. Obviously there are majorly important events like TTGL and Code Geass, but those shows don't have the otaku meta elements (TTGL uses otaku sentiments for its themes so it's borderline)

When I think of the shows I watched with /a/ it was Haruhi, Lucky Star, TTGL, and Code Geass, Bakemonogatari Steins;Gate and Madoka. The last show I felt I watched where the whole board watched it was Kill la Kill.
